Aaron finally relaxed once he got back to the missions office and collected his pay. "I am never taking a mission in Valor territory again. Good thing I got the money though. 100 for the first day. We can finally eat well and buy some things we need.
He looked at Trapinch's Poke ball.
Huh? her stats changed.

"I will have to see later and ask Trapinch because if it is what I think I owe that Old man plenty of thanks.
"What should I ask for tomorrow? My own house, some training equipment, money, or something else?"
"While all of those are good options. I need to figure out more about the system here. I am too limited on information currently. Although they taught us the basics before the Ordeal I need to figure out what happened to this world and if it is similar to the one I read in the fanfictions or is just similar.
Aaron made his way to the computer room in the Pokemon Center. At this time at night, it was deserted. While walking there he figured out that he felt more active and could see as clear as day despite the lack of light.
"This power is really amazing even though I don't know what it is called I can sort of feel it when it is active. It seems to become more powerful at night though. It might have a dark attribute or something related to that. I don't think aura has attributes though neither does psychic. I will have to experiment with this though in my minimal free time."
Once he got into the computer lab he found that only one of the computers was occupied by an older trainer that looked around twenty years old or so. He didn't wear any guild symbols or anything and looked normal.
Aaron just ignored him and went to sit down at the computer. He then looked up some of the things that have been bugging him. More specifically what people referred to as 'The Event' or 'Day of Reckoning'. He only heard about it briefly before the ideal and it was mentioned in the mayor's speech. It seems to be common sense to people here but I really don't know.
He found a couple of official articles posted by the league describing the event. It did not go into details but it mentioned a couple of things that where commonly known. The event happened over a hundred years ago when underground organizations gained control of a legendary pokemon. They used this Legendary Pokemon to do unspeakable crimes and forcefully capture many other pokemon.
Some say that this angered the legendaries to the extent that the led hoards of Pokemon to attack the human settlements across the world. Others think that legendary Pokemon lost control over the masses of Pokemon creating discord between the People and the Mass of pokemon. No one knows for sure though. But what they do know was the villages and small towns were the first to fall. Trainers tried to protect the civilians they were vastly outnumbered. The relationships between humans were torn apart by the creatures they once coexisted with.
Humans flooded to the biggest cities hoping that the larger populations would protect them sadly most did not survive the journey. The cities prepared for the siege of wild pokemon but despite their preparation, nobody was ready for the oncoming storm. Hordes of Pokemon descended and broke through the cities defenses. The pokemon attacked civilians and caused utter destruction. Just when all was lost the Pokemon stopped their offensive and retreated. Most people did not know what happened but were grateful.
When the humans now left the cities the pokemon retained their aggressive nature towards humans which made it no longer safe for citizens to leave the settlement without having a Pokemon for protection. That is when the governments and leagues formed the current governing system in order to survive this new harsh world. Trainers became the first and last line of defense against the wild instead of the peaceful adventures and tournaments they once knew. The civilian governments were dependent on trainers for their survival. However, as s result of the Cataclysm, Pokemon became the cause of terror for most humans. No longer did children or adults want to become trainers. This resulted in the shortage of trainers and the new rules and selections that happen throughout the regional cities.
Aaron sat back in his chair trying to think things over. ' Why would all the legendaries turn on humanity? Mew who is supposed to one of the strongest legendaries apart from the creation trio and Arceus was known as the protector of different regions. Of course, that was in the games and such but why wouldn't that be true here. Wouldn't others of interfered with the legendaries? ..."
"Whatcha looking at mate?"
Aaron was snapped out of his thoughts and turned around to see the guy who was on the other computer now looking over his shoulder.
"Ohhh you are looking up the Cataclysm"
Aaron questioned, "The what now?"
"The Cataclysm or the Event. The Start to the Dark Age. Whatever people call it nowadays."
Aaron nodded "yeah just trying to get a better feel and some more info"
At the words info, the guy's eyes shined.
He then grabbed Aaron's hands and shook them up and down in a handshake. "You my good sir came to the right man. My name is Tobias people just call me Tobi. I am the best when it comes to gathering information or resources. I am a merchant by heart and mind you see." He made dramatic poses and continued
"I love the challenge and follow where the money takes me. If there is anything that you need just let me know I will get you the best price. Whether it be Pokemon, Items, food or Information you seek I'll get the deal done within a week."
Aaron was stunned and didn't know how to respond to the overly dramatic guy who looked normal in all aspects except his personality.
"Uh-huh. So what if I asked you to get information about "The Event" for me?"
Tobi paused for a sec and struck a thinking pose "Hmmm, I think I could do it but it would cost you because that information is generally restricted to A and S rank trainers. "
Aaron gulped and asked "How Much?"
Tobi looked at Aaron and pushed up the rims of his glasses completely changing his demeanor. "I would say it would cost you half a million to a mill depends on who I find."
Aaron "Wow that is .... Pricy"
Tobi "Information is always Pricy my friend."
Aaron smirked "That it is. Okay, so what is the best way to make money around here?"
Tobi smiled widely "Now you are talking my language .... Uh what's your name?"
"Aaron friends call me N though." 'Although that hasn't happened yet'
"Well, Aaron it is a pleasure to meet you. In commemoration of our friendship I will give you this answer for free."
"For most trainers, it is easier to earn money by completing guard missions. Although they might not pay as much you are less likely to battle. If you want a larger payday you will need to find a higher rank trainer and convince them to share a higher-level mission with you. That would most likely require your pokemon to be at a certain level."
Aaron "Missions Huh," he said as he thought about today's little fiasco and shook his head.
Tobi watched Aaron and nodded saying "I said those are the safest options. Another way would to go outside the walls and collect rare materials and some pokemon. Then you can either match them to a mission or sell them to trainers. In a month or so Instinct will be holding a 3-day auction and trainer's market where anyone can make transactions and trades there. Last year someone found a rare pokemon scale and made a bunch of money. You will also see a lot of rarer pokemon there to be traded since it is a large scale event."
Aaron smiled "Now that is more of my style. Sadly I don't have enough money to buy Pokeballs just yet."
Tobi smiled not saying any more. He then took a white business card out of his jacket. He then gave it to Aaron saying "You can find me at this address or you can leave a message for me at one of the centers. They all know me."
Aaron nodded his head thanks still trying to figure out how to make some money and a plan for the future. He then absentmindedly said goodbye to Tobi the merchant and left the computer room.
After Aaron closed the door and left Tobi smiled and brought out a Pokeball and opened it.
Suddenly a tapir like Pokemon appeared before him.
"Drowzeeeee" it whined as it snuggled up against Tobi.
Tobi patted its head and smiled "Looks like we have another customer Dreamy."
Drowzeeee? It looked around confused but Tobi shook his head.
"Now Dreamy teleport us back home I am tired today. I made a lot of money though we deserve a break."
"Drow Drowzeee" it nodded and its eyes glowed blue for a couple of seconds then it reached out and touched Tobi disappearing into thin air.
...
Small chapter today. Thanks for all the support. I am coming up with a couple more things for this story. For those people who expect it to follow the same lines as the original. I am sorry this won't. As I said before it was kind of just a spur of the moment story that I worked on and didn't want to be rewriting essentially the same type of FF again.
Other than that all is well We are doing good in the standings for Powerstones so keep it up!!!
Also thanks for the suggestions for the teams. I really enjoy the ideas. I would like to do non-mainstream Pokemon that are constantly written about.!!!
If you have some time make a comment or a review!!
