章 3: Chapter 3
''Rio?''
The newborn Pokémon that just recently hatched from his egg was looking around the environment it found itself in, shortly after its eyes landed on the person standing right in front of it and it immediately recognized it as the thing whose aura it felt while it was in the egg.
''Riolu!''
It clumsily got up on its shaky legs and tried to jump towards Kyrean but only ended up faceplanting itself into the bed.
''You sure are energetic even though you just hatched though I guess that's par of the course for a Riolu.'' Said Kyrean before going into his thoughts. 'Though if I remember correctly Ash's riolu immediately after hatching started to get into fights but to be fair that thing was there for quite a while before it even hatched, it was just waiting for the right trainer.'
''Rio'' While being lost in his thoughts for a moment the newly hatched Pokémon cried out to get Kyrean's attention. Picking the riolu up from the bed he decided to wipe it off with a cloth he had nearby. 'I should probably feed him since he's probably hungry.' mused Kyrean.
''Right then! Lets go get you some food, but first you should meet my parents.''

-1 week later-
''Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. A Fighting type. Riolu can understand how people and Pokémon feel by observing a kind of wave called aura. It has a flexible body with enough power to cross three mountains and two canyons in one night.''
He had recently received his pokédex a few hours ago and the new custom pokéballs along with a few regular ones just in case from his parents, he was currently scanning the riolu he decided to name Mercury, it was a name he always used whenever he played the games after all so he thought it was right. Even though Mercury is registered as his now he still wanted to keep it outside with him at all times since it felt right, besides he was an energetic fellow.
''Riolu!'' cried out riolu while punching the air to practice his punches.
He decided to wait a week before he started training his Pokémon since he was a newborn, after all Ash's future riolu was a special case.
''Before we start practicing i need to see what moves you have first and then we'll continue from there.''
''Ri!'' Mercury yipped at his trainer to show his agreement, though one could tell he was a little impatient with how much he was moving.
Looking at his pokédex Kyrean saw the move set of his first ever Pokémon and was pleasantly surprised. Mercury was overloaded!
[Riolu
Ability: Inner Focus
Type: Fighting
Moves: Endure, Quick Attack, Feint
Egg moves: Vacuum Wave, Bullet Punch, Blaze Kick]
The first gym is in Oreburgh city, that's like a two weeks away from Twinleaf town.
'Though I should take it slow so we can get some practice in after all, I don't want to accidentally rush things, taking our time to actually practice the moves would be much more beneficial in the long run. Should be enough time for Mercury to get used to his body as well, though I get the feeling two weeks won't be needed for that.'
After deciding to stay a few days practicing while in the safety of his home and then move out to begin their journey when Mercury feels strong enough he decided to focus on Vacuum Wave and Quick Attack first, Ash's riolu spammed the damm thing like it was nothing he wanted that for Mercury as well.
''Alright Mercury lets begin our first practice!'' Yelled Kyrean to get into the mood
''Ri!''
''Alright let's start with Quick Attack on that tree stomp over there.''
They were currently in the spot where Kyrean did his daily work out which he had already done with Mercury prior to beginning their training.
Mercury stared at the tree with a glare, as if it had stolen something from him! It began to run up to it while building a white energy around him and suddenly he sped up and hit it with a punch!
Thonk
There was a sound shortly after the punch hit and you could see a mark on the tree where the punch had landed, it wasn't that deep though and since it was the first time Mercury had ever used the move it was still impressive!
With more practice and he could probably split the thing in half the more mastery he got over the move.

The last few days Mercury had been practicing both moves Quick Attack and Vacuum Wave in reckless abandon and it paid off, right now you could see the tree all battered and beaten up, the poor thing. But it was for the greater good after all so the tree should be happy it's being used a way to pave their path to success!
Vacuum Wave took a while more than Quick Attack to learn though since Mercury while being the aura Pokémon obviously knew how to use it but it took him a while to channel it at first and then gradually it became easier as the hours and days went by, and then came the problem of aiming the thing.
Even though he hit some on the tree they used it still wasn't exactly accurate and even though he also didn't want to push Mercury into perfection since he was still learning the move, Mercury refused to stop and wanted to keep going though he had to stop him at times since he went a little overboard. He was really overzealous about it.
It got to the point they had to use another tree as sacrifice for their training, Kyrean drew target marks on it for Mercury to guide himself in knowing where exactly to hit.
During all this time he wasn't idle himself as he trained alongside his Pokémon. He knew that since Mercury decided to tag along with him he had the ability to use and see Aura, a very rare ability in the Pokémon world to have, though all living things have it, very few are able to utilize it.
So he decided to see if he could somehow use it, he remembered medichams meditating in order to sense it and decided on doing just that. It seemed to be paying off since he did manage to ''see'' Mercury's aura but only for a little bit and that only happened twice and it went away as quickly as it came.
And since it didn't work out as expected...well not like he was actually expending to grasp the feeling of it in just a few days. He decided to work out while Mercury trained his abilities on the poor tree, after all he wanted his Pokémon to know he'll be there sharing their struggles as well.
But the day finally came when it was time for him to leave his hometown and onto the next. Both of his parents were with him that day to see him off, though knowing his dad he's probably joyful on the inside for the amount of private time they'll be having. Bleh.
''Make sure to call often okay, and did you make sure to pack everything?'' said Arianna with a tearful expression.
''Yeah i made sure everything was in order don't worry so much mom.'' said Kyrean in a exasperated way. She's been like this since yesterday and though he couldn't blame a mother for worrying he wasn't a kid anymore so it was a little over the top. 'Well to them I'm still 14 I guess.'
''Don't worry Ari, he'll be just fine with Mercury by his side they've been training for this day after all.'' Said Kylo. He had been watching them both train for a while now and made sure to give Kyrean a little gift though he wouldn't tell him since he had asked for no more additional help, one can never stop worrying about their only child.
''He's right mom, we've been training for this. I'll be fine and i promise to call you as soon as i reach Jubilife city!'' said Kyrean as he was walking away from them to head to route 201 heading to Sand Gem Town where he'll make his first stop.
''Riolu!'' waved Mercury at both Kylo and Arianna before leaving to catch up with his trainer.

mow Well theres that, I have great plans for Kyrean's Aura in the far future that i won't be able to introduce right now without it being some sort of wish fulfillment. Hope you enjoy the chapter.
