"Eevee, focus on Raticate's movements and prepare Yawn!"
In the battle room, Tyson's commands echoed as he faced an intense two-on-one battle against a Beedrill and a Raticate, both possessing impressive strength at the Excellent level. Shadow stood nearby, silently observing the battle.
This type of training session had been part of Tyson's routine since Eevee advanced to the Competent level five days ago and had gained a basic combat foundation.
Charmeleon's Ember attack, now at an Advanced level of proficiency, flew toward Beedrill with precision, forcing it to fend off the flames with its sharp twin needles. Meanwhile, Raticate charged in with Quick Attack, its speed a looming threat.
Shadow had given only one instruction to the two opponents: attack Tyson relentlessly. If he failed to defeat them, Shadow would not intervene; Tyson would have to bear the consequences.
As Raticate closed the distance, Eevee's eyes focused intently. At just the right moment, Eevee let out a Yawn, releasing a wave of energy that began to take effect on Raticate.
"Charmeleon, let's finish Beedrill! Eevee, use Helping Hand!" Tyson called out.
While Charmeleon dodged Beedrill's Poison Sting attack, the supportive glow of Eevee's Helping Hand surrounded Charmeleon, boosting its next move.
"Charmeleon, Flamethrower!"
Charmeleon, empowered by the training Shadow had provided, charged its flames. Though Flamethrower was newly acquired through a TM Shadow had given Tyson, Charmeleon required a moment to gather its energy, as its proficiency with the move was still at the Basic level.
Beedrill attempted to interrupt with its venom-coated twin needles, but the enhanced Flamethrower shot forward, obliterating the incoming attack and striking Beedrill directly. The searing flames caused Beedrill to cry out before it crashed to the ground, unable to continue the battle.
"Eevee, Helping Hand again! Charmeleon, Flamethrower on Raticate!"
As Raticate shook off the lingering effects of Yawn and tried to retaliate, it was too slow. The boosted Flamethrower engulfed Raticate, leaving it stunned and vulnerable. Charmeleon quickly followed up with Ember, sealing Raticate's defeat.
The battle concluded with both opponents down, but Tyson remained composed. These challenges had become a daily routine over the past two months, shaping him into a skilled Trainer.
During this time, Tyson had meticulously focused on improving his Pokémon's abilities. Charmeleon had reached Level 22, mastering several moves, while Eevee had grown to Level 15 and developed its combat potential.
Charmeleon had increased the proficiency of its moves, including Dragon Breath and Slash, to the Intermediate level, completing a key mission. Eevee, meanwhile, had refined Helping Hand to Intermediate level, achieving another milestone. Tyson had accumulated 325 mission points through these achievements.
However, Tyson discovered that upgrading move proficiency from Basic to Intermediate was relatively quick during early training stages. Attempting to advance moves to Advanced levels required significantly more time and effort.
With his mission list updated, Tyson reviewed his current objectives:

Train Charmeleon to gain 100 levels. Reward: 3 mission points (Progress: 5/100).
Raise Charmeleon's move proficiency for eight moves to the Intermediate level. Reward: 5 mission points (Progress: 8/8).

Train Eevee to gain 75 levels. Reward: 3 mission points (Progress: 5/75).
Advance three of Eevee's moves to the Intermediate level. Reward: 1 mission point (Progress: 3/3).
"Well done, Tyson," Shadow said, recalling Beedrill and Raticate. "Take tomorrow off. The day after, we'll test your abilities in a real-world scenario. Don't expect it to be easy."
"Understood," Tyson replied, nodding confidently.
Shadow left, satisfied with Tyson's progress, but the looming test would determine whether Tyson had fully grasped everything Shadow had taught him.
Tyson turned to his Pokémon. "Good job, Charmeleon and Eevee. You've both earned this break." He gently petted their heads, his touch calming and encouraging them.
The team took a moment to relax, preparing for the challenges that lay ahead.
