"Aspen..." He says stopping and I look at him quizzically " we haven't been together for a long time and I know that but I shouldn't waste any more time. I really like you. Hell, I love you but-" he takes a deep breath, " I think its time we take things to another level."

I gape at him as he gets down on one knee and pulls out a tiny box.

I begin to shake my head but he raises his hand.

"I'm not asking you to marry me..just yet. But more of a promise ring. I promise. To love, trust, confide, believe, comfort, and please you every second of the day. You've changed my life since the minute I walked into that office presenting myself. You're all I have and nothing, nothing is going to stop me from loving you."

By the time he was done, I was a sobbing mess.

"So Aspen Cardi Williams, will you join me in this promise" I cough and nod while he grins and slips the beautiful gold band on my finger. I frown.
