A-Yeong thought it foolishness for considering the possibility of Ji-Tae telling the truth. As a matter of fact, she believed it was the utmost height of foolishness she'd ever attain.

But she wasn't foolish. Maybe she had been in the past, but certainly not anymore.

There was definitely no way, absolutely no way, Ji-Tae was telling the truth. He was incapable of caring or protecting anyone other than himself.

Ji-Tae wasn't a man acquainted with honesty and affection — not even affection for his child.

He was a twisted, vile, manipulative psychopath who'd pry on her intelligence and that of anyone else's for his benefit. But that wouldn't be her anymore. She was done being weak and stupid.

Her gaze hardened at him. "I don't care about what excuse you have, and neither will I believe your lies, Lee Ji-Tae." She told him brusquely and matter-of-factly.

"But I tell no lies here, and neither is this an excuse."
