章 173: A strong yet vulnerable person.
Nyx, Cassandra, Blanc and Pavard left the office building of the Galvins.
"Sir Pavard and Sir Blanc, thank you for overseeing the contract and be the witnesses and the keeper of the contract." Cassandra said to the two old men before slightly bowing to them.
"It is a pleasure working with you dearie. Last time I have met you, it was during the noble one's funeral. You have grown up to be a fine lady!" Corentine Pavard said, reading the lips of Cassandra.
Cassandra smiled before turning to Florent Blanc.
"You have impressed me well today, little girly. It seems like my teachings did make you grow and mature to be the person you are today." Blanc said to Cassandra before he turned to Nyx.
"I thank the two gentlemen for accepting my request to be the contract keepers and witnesses for today's matter." Nyx said to the two old men and was about to give a bow of courtesy to the two of them.
But before she could do it, she was stopped by Florent Blanc.
"A future Nobless must not bow to anyone but to her parents who brought her to this world, Little Noble one. Whoever claims to be noble, must conduct himself or herself nobly. One must act in a fashion that conforms to one's position and privileges with which one has been born, bestowed and/or has earned. These are the words of the first Nobless!" Blanc said shaking his head in disapproval of her conduct.
Pavard nodded in agreement.
"You're mother was the noblest person in the entire Sacred noble families and clans. As you are her daughter and her successor, you are by birth a noble." As he said he gave a bow to Nyx.
'Dammit, that old set of bones beat me to it!' Blanc said in his mind.
He too followed up with a bow toward Nyx.
Nyx was surprised by the situation and didn't know what to do.
She felt awkward as the two of them bow to her.
After giving Nyx a bow, Blanc spoke up.
"I was your mother's contract keeper, little noble one. My deepest sympathies to you. It must have been difficult growing without your parents by your side while having to shoulder such burdens on yourself." Blanc Sympathised with Nyx as he too understands the difficulties of growing without parents.
Hearing Blanc, Nyx stiffened. Her emotions became unsteady.
She quickly realised, why Blanc's words caused emotional reactions within herself.
'This is the first time someone sympathised with me...'
Nyx once wanted to hear those words from someone, anyone.
But she never heard it until now.
She was confined to her own house till she was a teen.
Aurora always treated Nyx and Aaron as the same. Two different threads of the same soul.
Kira, Rodney and Max? They have always treated Nyx with respect but kept themselves away from Nyx by drawing a thin line between themselves and Nyx.
Erisviel is Nyx's friend of few words, she may understand Nyx but she can't express it herself well.
Sabastian, Nyx's sworn brother. He knew everything about Nyx, he understood that his words would be meaningless to her. So he never said it to Nyx.
Zulkernyn and Ian are dense.
Ana learning about her feelings for Nyx avoided Nyx.
"Thank you..." Nyx was only able to voice out these two words before she turned around and entered her car.
The three noticed it even though Nyx tried so hard to control her emotions.
"That child, Cassandra... You must care for her, she is a strong young woman but everybody has vulnerabilities and people deal with them in different ways." Blanc said as he turned to Cassandra.
"She must conduct herself like a proper noble, dearie. After she takes back the Prince industries, tell her to visit the old Noble House of the Aurier's. There, she will learn the etiquette of a proper noble."
The three talked for a few more minutes before parting ways.
Cassandra got inside the car and saw Nyx had her eyes closed as she leaned her head on the glass window.
"To my apartment, Heath." Instructing the driver, Cassandra leaned back comfortably at the backseat.
The inside of the car was silent.
Cassandra gave Nyx some space.
She knows her niece well enough that Nyx has listened to the conversation she had with Blanc and Pavard.
Fifteen minutes later, Nyx turned to Cassandra before she broke up the silence inside the car.
"Even though I might be faced with a lot of difficulties, sometimes it may be very intense, sometimes it may be less severe, nonetheless I always have to express that I'm strong. I'm strong it is true, I'm strong. But I'm also vulnerable. By identifying my vulnerabilities through self-understanding I become stronger. But there's also a part of me who locks up some emotional knowledge deep inside myself to not be affected by emotions that makes me fragile. Underneath the layer of my strong self, I'm a vulnerable person. And underneath my vulnerable self, I'm a fragile person. That's how I deal with myself."
Cassandra leaned towards Nyx and hugged her.
Nyx hugged Cassandra back, holding her tightly she continued.
"I yearn the warmth of my parents... I miss them, aunt Cassie." Nyx softly spoke.
"I know... I know, Nyx..."

Two days later, at Cassandra's apartment.
Both niece and aunt were eating breakfast at the dining table.
Nyx had a frown on her face, as she was staring at her aunt.
Timothy just dropped off a few documents for her regarding Nameless' expansion in Starglitter City.
She saw that Cassandra avoided Timothy.
Nyx also noticed that it was not only her aunt but Timothy too avoided Cassandra.
"What's going on between you and Timothy? Why were you two avoiding each other?"
"Are you two dating each other?" Nyx asked Cassandra raising her brows.
Something is going on between Cassandra and Timothy.
She doesn't know what but she is going to be a nosy niece and find out about it!
Cassandra flinched hearing Nyx before she raised her voice in response.
"No, we are not!"
'Whoa, what extreme reaction! There's definitely something going on.' Nyx said in her mind.
"Aunt Cassie, are you sure there's nothing between the two of you? Cause I don't believe it. Come on, tell me what's going on between you two or I will go ask Timothy about it. As my loyal subordinate, he will not lie to me."
Nyx gave an intense stare to Cassandra.
Cassandra didn't know what to say.
She was hesitating whether should she tell Nyx or not.
Stomping her food, Cassandra sighed deeply.
Making up her mind, Cassandra told Nyx why they are avoiding each other.
Staring at her Nyx with a guilty expression on her face.
She said some words that made Nyx who was about to put a piece of meat on her mouth, drop the fork.
"I slept with Timothy..."
Though Cassandra's voice was soft, Nyx was able to hear it very clearly.
Nyx widened her eyes in shock!
"Though I expected it. The impact of your words is way too strong when hearing it personally!" Nyx said as she abruptly stood up from her chair.

章 174: We need to talk.
"Tell me everything, aunt Cassie!" Her eyes shining bright, Nyx asked Cassandra raising her voice.
Nyx knew since long ago that the two had feelings for each other.
But the two are idiots!
Ever since Nyx sent Timothy to Cassandra for her security.
Nyx started to see changes in both of them.
After a few months, it was obvious that they have developed feelings for each other.
The misfit gang were also frustrated watching the two. Timothy and Cassandra were practically living together for a couple of years but their relationship never changed.
They kept their feelings to themselves.
What's more frustrating is that Cassandra and Timothy knew each other's feelings.
They knew, yet they avoided each other and kept everything professional between them.
Over these five years, their feelings grew but they are still stuck on to their stubborn views.
For Timothy, Cassandra is the aunt of his benefactor. Who not only saved his life from a hell hole but also his daughter's life. He works under Nyx and she is his boss. Cassandra is his boss's aunt. There's also the gap in their status. He is a nobody and Cassandra is from the Prince family, one of the Sacred noble families and clans.
Timothy is divorced and is a single parent. Though his daughter will support him if Timothy ends up in a relationship with Cassandra. He is concerned for his daughter's future.
Currently, his daughter is living in country S.A.
Nyx made sure that, there is tight security around his daughter.
For Cassandra, it's not hard to guess her reasons.
She has many things on her shoulder.
Cassandra is fighting against Lyle Prince, the Prince family, she is taking care of everything her older brother left Nyx.
Without Nyx, she is alone.
Over the years, Cassandra has gotten closer to Nyx and understands her to an extent.
Cassandra knows she can't be a substitute for Nyx's parents but she is trying to give the warmth of a family to Nyx.
Nyx is her priority right now.
When will she find the time for herself? Cassandra doesn't know, not until she and Nyx finished taking over the Prince family at least.
Cassandra also worries about what the people in the sacred society will talk about Timothy and herself.
She doesn't worry about that for herself but Timothy and his daughter.
Their relationship will not impact two but three lives.
The Sacred society is too cruel for them.
"I-I" Cassandra was hesitating and stuttering.
Seeing Cassandra like that, Nyx walked towards her.
She grabbed Cassandra's hand and took her to the living room.
The two of them at the sofa, Nyx gazed into Cassandra's eyes.
"Go on, tell me what happened." Nyx urged Cassandra to tell her what happened between her and Timothy
Cassandra took a deep breath before she sighed.
"5 days ago when I arrived here, I was tired and bored. I wanted to go to some club and just let loose, get drunk. As you know, Lyle is working on a big project in Prince Industries. He tried to get Arrow tech's Aether cores for his projects but the Arrow tech declined him giving the reason that they have signed a major contract with the Zwei Heilige group. Then he tried to stir some troubles at the board meetings, to back him to work with some companies in Russia or S.A. I tried hard to prevent that and was able to succeed thanks to Hae-Young." Cassandra told Nyx. She felt a headache remembering what she was doing at the Prince Industry to keep Lyle Prince in check.
"... Go on, speed up the process a bit." Hearing Cassandra, Nyx rolled her eyes.
That's not what she wanted to hear!
"Well, that day I got drunk really really bad... So Timothy was there with me and brought me home. I was drunk, upset about everything and this ruggedly handsome man holding me by his hands around my waist... He likes me, I like him. Right now isn't this a perfect chance for him? Like I'm drunk, he can take advantage of me, right? But no, he was being a gentleman holding me by his manly rough hands... I got upset by the fact he wasn't doing anything, I know I was drunk back then it lowered my inhibitions. But I was still, conscious of it! Yeah, in those times sometimes people make mistakes and that leads to bad decisions but I wanted him... Like who wouldn't want to!!! I was drunk, this guy likes me, I like him, I was upset, he wasn't doing anything to me, I was horny! I don't know, I just got aggressive and tried to seduce him until he got to my bed. He was like he didn't care, he loves me but why is he not doing anything?"
Cassandra got a bit hyper and Nyx was quite amused by the story her aunt was telling.
"So I finally snapped when we were in my bedroom. He made me sat on the bed and told me to lay down, take some rest. Unbelievable, this guy! So I got up pointing a finger at him and shouted 'are you gay? No, if you're gay then you wouldn't have liked me. Are you impotent or something?'" Cassandra raising her tone imitated the way she shouted at Timothy.
"Pfft!!!" Nyx burst out laughing.
Holding her belly, she kept on laughing.
"Haha hahaha!!! hahaha... Hahaha... Hahaha... It's fu*king hilarious..."
It was so funny that she couldn't stop laughing.
It took a couple of minutes for Nyx to calm down.
"Go on, go on. Tell me what happened next!" Nyx urged Cassandra to tell the rest of the story about what happened.
"Yeah, I don't know what came over me to say that but I was like 'Are you impotent'. The look on his face was hilarious! He replied hurriedly shouting 'I'm not impotent!'"
"Pfft!"Nyx laughed again but this time she contained her laugh.
"So then, I was like 'Then why are you not doing anything!' He replied that I'm drunk and it's not good for us to do anything, I will probably regret it later. He told me that we are from two different worlds and he is your subordinate. I got angry and aggressive! Like, who the fu*king cares!!! I'm a 30-year-old woman, an adult. I want you to kiss me, touch me and rock my world right now! Then I learned that ever since he took me from the club, coming here at my house, holding me on his arms he was holding himself back. That man has a great will, you know! We argued for a few minutes about us, how we have feelings for each other and everything. I couldn't stand it anymore, I just jumped at him and kissed him hard. That was the trigger for him, at that moment we didn't care about anything. We just wanted to have sex. Then I woke up in the morning naked beside him. It was awkward at first, I don't regret what happened. I loved the night that I spent with him. But everything became awkward after that. We don't know, we feel embarrassed and awkward. Since them, we have been avoiding each other. This has been killing me, I want to have a proper talk with him." Cassandra said to Nyx holding her head.
"Then why don't you talk with him?" Nyx asked shaking her head.
'Stupid idiots!' She muttered inwardly feeling disappointed at the two of them.
'Just get married already!!!' She screamed in her mind.
"I want to, but he keeps avoiding me and I don't know what to do! Ever since you came here, he is completely avoiding me, like I haven't seen him for the past couples of days since you arrived. Today's the first time I saw him."
Giving a deep sigh, Nyx made Aaron call Timothy.
Aaron told Timothy that Nyx wants to talk about something urgent so he told her to go to Nyx asap.
Soon the bell rang.
Cassandra was confused, she couldn't remember if anyone was visiting today.
So she turned to Nyx.
But Nyx only gave her a look of disappointment that made her confused even more.
"I'll get it." Nyx said to Cassandra before getting up from the sofa.
A minutes later, Nyx appeared before Cassandra with Timothy following behind her.
Cassandra was surprised and got nervous seeing Timothy.
Nyx now was standing in between Cassandra who was sitting at the sofa and Timothy who was standing near Nyx looking confused.
"Listen up you two! Instead of avoiding each other and be awkward around each other, just talk you two! In the past couple of months, I learned some great life lessons and one of them is. 'Don't bottle up your feelings, just go ahead and confess. Embrace your feelings and face reality!' You two needs to talk about this seriously." She said to the two of them, surprising the two.
"Timothy, you are a great guy! I know you for about 5 years now. If I want my aunt to be with someone? The first person who comes to my mind is you. I'm not against you two, don't think of anyone other than you and my aunt and talk! Aunt Cassie, you wanted to talk to him, now he's here. He's all yours. I'm going to go shopping, so I'm leaving you two to talk. Bye!" After saying everything that she wanted to say, Nyx left.
"..."
Cassandra didn't know what to say, she just stared at her niece with her mouth open.
"..."
Timothy understood what Nyx said to the two of them.
He turned his head to face, Cassandra.
Who also turned to face him.
There was a minute silence before the two spoke at the same time.
"We need to talk." Cassandra/Timothy.
