"M-Mairen?" She mumbled while staring at him. 

It was an unexpected situation since Mairen was standing up for her. She knew that Mairen wasn't a bad guy and he just wanted attention from Alyssum. He confessed his feelings towards her before he departed to another country for their family business. And now, he was beside Alyssum, staring at Chance. 

"You didn't know what Alyssum's feelings were. She doesn't want to be humiliated by someone, so she defends herself." Mairen said. 

"Don't put yourself into our conversation, Mairen." Chance sternly said. 

"I said what Alyssum felt so it's not wrong for me to defend her from you even if you are her best friend." He confessed and pulled her away from him.
