章 9: Hidden Quest Trigger
"There's a right to be wronged, there's a wrong to be done, I'm just a doctor who cures the sick and saves people, so don't give me a hard time if you're a wronged soul who's been eaten by a tree man! I'll leave now!"
Charlotte's throat rolled and turned around, ready to run.
This was just too horrible!
Someone in the throat of a tree man was actually greeting him?
This was beyond his ability, this one hundred copper coins, not to be earned!
"Ai ai ai! Dr. Charlotte, don't go!" The voice that came from his throat was obviously a bit anxious.
"Crap, this Creepy Dao is not shallow! Even my name knows!" Charlotte was alarmed, and her determination to run away became even stronger.
"I'm Guy! Dwarf blacksmith Guy from the blacksmith store on the corner, the one who treated your ear last month!"
Charlotte's footsteps stopped, he did have such a character in his memory.
The Dwarf blacksmith in Baca Street was a solid fat man, blind in one left eye, but his craftsmanship was not bad, he came to him last month to see his ear, the original body transplanted a wild dog's ear to him, curing his ear's inability to work.
"Are you a man or a ghost? What's the deal?" Charlotte asked.

So it was a medical malpractice in a dental surgery, huh?
Charlotte sniffed with some amusement.
"What position are you stuck in now? What's the situation? What help do you need from me?" Charlotte asked quickly.
The situation now had involved two people, if not handled correctly, it could be the result of a dead body.
"I'm completely stuck, heck I just swallowed a couple times and it almost sent me to the rectum!" Guy cursed, "I'm sure I can't climb out on my own, so throw me a rope down, I'll tie myself down and then you get someone to pull me out."
"Good! I'll go get you a rope!" Charlotte agreed and turned to run towards the outside of the mouth cavity.
This was a foreign body with a mind of its own.
But that was sort of good news.
If he had been allowed to go deeper into the tree man's throat to try and loosen a piece of the foreign object that was stuck in his throat, it would have basically pronounced the tree man dead
Charlotte crawled out of the tree man's half-open mouth, shoving in a man-high stick to support it in the process.
The tree man had fallen into a semi-conscious state and his breath was becoming weak.
Charlotte ran into the clinic, and soon ran out again holding a coil of heavy iron chain, one end of which was tied to a stone pillar as thick as a man's ring in front of the clinic's main door, and then rushed into the tree man's mouth once again carrying the chain.
"This tree man has already snapped, right?"
"What is the doctor doing carrying the chain in? It doesn't look reliable at all?"
"This human doctor really can't be trusted, he doesn't even know how to do magic, how can he be called a doctor?"
The onlookers sneered, and some had already set their eyes on the tree man's pockets, intending to get a piece of the pie.
"I can't pull you, so I tied the chain to the stone pillar, you have amazing arm strength, grab it and climb out yourself!" Charlotte stood on her tongue and threw the chain down towards the throat sticking out.
"Good! Thanks!" Guy's voice came.
Charlotte ran quickly out of the tree man's mouth and took a few steps back, away from the chain.
Looking at the dying tree man, he could only wish him luck at the moment.
Clatter!
The chains tied to the stone pillars steeply tensed up, then slightly trembled, and the stone pillars were rubbed and rustled with stone dust.
"What the hell!"
"Is this magic?"
"Enchanted chains?"
The onlookers looked at this scene and revealed astonished expressions.
Boo!
A sound like a wine cork being pulled out came out from the tree man's mouth, and soon, a dunce dwarf covered in dyed green sap crawled out of the tree man's mouth.
"The old man is finally out!" Guy wiped his face, holding back a few moments of gratitude.
Charlotte swept a glance at his wine-soaked general's belly, and if it wasn't for the fat, it would have to go to the remnants of the digestive tract to
scum to find him.
"What's with the crawling out of a dwarf?"
"Isn't this the owner of the blacksmith store on the corner?"
"It really is! How did he get eaten by the tree people?"
The onlookers clamored, this development somewhat beyond their expectations.
The choking foreign object had been removed, but the tree man had fallen into a coma, his breath still very weak.
Charlotte turned around and went into the clinic, and soon ran out again holding a bunch of potions, drilling them into the tree man's mouth once more.
Three vials of hemostatic potions and three vials of intermediate strength potions were poured directly down deep into his throat.
The Hemostatic Potion was used to restore the throat damage, and the Stamina Potion was able to wake him up faster.
Charlotte retreated and looked at the tree man lying on his back in the street, waiting for the potions to take effect.
Exposing a weakened state in front of others was a very dangerous thing in the Abyss.
Tree people belonged to a gifted race, without much hard training, they could have fourth rank strength after reaching adulthood, and were an existence that most people would not dare to mess with.
But an unconscious tree man wasn't in that range.
"Cough-cough-cough-"
The tree man lying on the ground suddenly coughed violently twice, and his closed eyes opened abruptly, as if a drowning person had finally been dragged ashore, greedily breathing in large gulps of air.
The two habitual thieves who had already circled around to the side of the tree man were startled, and hurriedly dodged.
The tree man sat up on his knees with his one arm propped up on the ground, his cloudy eyes looking at Charlotte standing in front of the clinic, his voice low as he asked, "It was you who saved me?"
"Amos, you idiot, what kind of hiccups are you playing with your teeth, you almost suffocated me to death! If it wasn't for Dr. Charlotte, both of us would have died in one body, and my Guy's reputation would have been ruined if word got out!" Guy looked at the tree man cursing, turned to Charlotte again with a grateful face and said, "Thank you so much."
"No need to be polite." Charlotte nodded slightly, then looked at the tree man and said, "Healing fee 100 copper coins, three bottles of Hemostatic Potion 300 copper coins, three bottles of Intermediate Stamina Potion 600 copper coins, total 1000 copper coins."
"Thank you." The Tree Man nodded slightly, his eyes swept the crowd, reached into the tree hole in the left side of his chest cavity and fished out a handful of silver coins and
copper coins, and after a slight count, handed them to Charlotte.
Charlotte counted them carefully and returned the extra copper coin.
He liked this kind of patient who gave money sharply and didn't talk too much.

The tree man looked at the copper coin in his hand and said with some embarrassment, "The tooth will be filled next month."
"Shit!" Guy compared a grumpy middle finger, "I gave you all the teeth, and you even want them to be filled next month, and you almost put your little life on the line, you can't do this business, you can't do it."
"Dr. Charlotte, thank you for saving my life, if you ever need anything whipped up, feel free to come see me and I'll waive the bill." Guy patted his chest and said to Charlotte, sniffing his hand again with a disgusted look on his face, "It stinks! I'm going back to take a shower first, see you later!"
After saying that, he ran away without looking back, like a pot-bellied gyroscope.
A good thing like a free bill, of course Charlotte wouldn't refuse.
He even felt that letting Guy make a scalpel was a bit of a waste of this order-free opportunity, how about making a forty-meter-long large knife?

Black magicians belonged to the existence of the chaotic and evil camp, practicing in an evil way and often had many innocent lives on their hands.
Charlotte looked at this poor tree man, as a sun-favored race that relied on sunlight to cultivate and grow, he was even put under such a vicious curse.
Not allowing tree people to bask in the sun, that was no different from depriving humans of their right to breathe.
This also explained why he appeared in the Abyss.
Apart from those low crypts of the northern goblins, this should be the best place for the cursed tree man to be.
