章 47: 2 Crews 1 Tattoo
The Polar Tang was steady in the water as its crew went about their usual tasks. Inside, Law was in his quarters, peeling off his soaked shirt from earlier when he'd pulled Kikidori out of the ocean—again.
"Why do I always get stuck with the dumb ones?" he muttered, tossing the shirt into a nearby bin.
Just as he reached for a clean one, the door creaked open, and Kikidori's wide-eyed face popped in.
"Captain Law, are you—WOAH!" Kikidori's voice rose to a shout as his eyes zeroed in on the massive tattoo sprawled across Law's back. The bold emblem of the Heart Pirates' Jolly Roger stood out, commanding attention.
"Do you knock?" Law asked irritably, turning to glare at the boy.
Kikidori, however, was too excited to care. "That's so cool! Can I get one too?!"
Law frowned. "No."
"Why not?" Kikidori pouted, his hands on his hips.
"Because you're not part of my crew, and you're a child," Law said flatly, pulling on a fresh shirt.
"Aw, come on!" Kikidori whined, bouncing on his toes. "Please? Just a little one? Like a mini version or something?"
"No," Law said again, walking toward the door in an attempt to escape.
Kikidori followed, relentless. "Pleeeeease?"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaassssseeeee?" Kikidori drew out the word dramatically, clasping his hands together as if he were praying.
Law groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Fine. If it'll shut you up, you can get one."
Kikidori's face lit up. "YES! Thank you, Captain Law! You're the best!"
"This is a terrible idea," Law muttered under his breath as Kikidori ran off, shouting about how he was going to look awesome.

Later that day, Kikidori was sitting in one of the Polar Tang's medical rooms, eagerly waiting as Shachi set up the tattooing equipment. Law stood nearby, arms crossed, already regretting his decision.
"You do realize this isn't going to be fun, right?" Law asked.
"I don't care!" Kikidori said, grinning from ear to ear. "I'm gonna look just like you! Well, except cooler."
Law rolled his eyes. "Sure, kid. Keep telling yourself that."
As the needle buzzed to life, Kikidori braced himself. At first, he flinched at the pain, but his excitement quickly overpowered it.
"Does it look awesome yet?" Kikidori asked after only a few minutes.
"It's not even halfway done," Shachi replied, shaking his head.
"Ugh, hurry up! I wanna show everyone!"

Hours later, Kikidori stood in front of a mirror, admiring the fresh tattoo now emblazoned on his back. It was identical to Law's, and just as large.
"Man, I look so cool!" Kikidori said, turning to show Bepo, who gave him a thumbs-up.
"You look... committed," Bepo said diplomatically.
"Yeah, I do! I'm practically a Heart Pirate now!" Kikidori declared, puffing out his chest.
Law walked in, giving Kikidori a critical look. "You happy now?"
"Very!" Kikidori replied, grinning.
Law sighed. "Good. Now, go do something useful and stop bothering me."
Kikidori saluted dramatically. "Aye aye, Captain!"
As Kikidori ran off to show the rest of the Heart Pirates his new ink, Law shook his head. "This is going to bite me later. I just know it."

Sure enough, Kikidori's tattoo would soon become a point of contention. When the Straw Hats eventually reunited with the Heart Pirates, the crew's reactions were... intense.
On the Sunny, Sanji's jaw dropped. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
"Is that permanent?!" Nami shouted, glaring at Kikidori.
"Yup!" Kikidori said proudly, turning to show them the massive Heart Pirates emblem on his back.
"That's so cool!" Luffy said, laughing.
"It's idiotic," Zoro muttered, shaking his head.
Robin chuckled softly. "Well, it suits him."
Raiko, standing nearby, smirked. "Guess you really are desperate to be part of a crew that actually likes you."
"Shut up, noodle brain!" Kikidori snapped.
Back on the Polar Tang, Law was once again rubbing his temples. "This is why I don't deal with kids."
