Chapter 180: Arrival at Fishman Island
"How are we on fuel?" Asked Robin to Franky.
"Fuel?"Asked Franky.
She noted. "You know how our Captain is going to answer. We will need to move"
He understood.
"Right…we have enough cola for one big burst, the problem is that we will run completely out of air."
"If we can reach the bubble it will be fine" Added Vivi, who had listened to their conversation.
"She is right, but we need to move quickly" Nami approached.
"I'll help you out, let's do this." Said Vivi.
"Okay, leave it to me!" Exclaimed the cyborg.
"So, what will it be, Strawhat Luffy, will you join us?" the freshman asked.
Luffy started laughing.
"No way!, you IDIOT!" Shouted their Captain.
"You refuse?!"
The Sea Kings started to move to surround their ship.
"You refuse to submit to the new Fishmen Pirates?!... Then it is decided, you are mere sinful humans, enemies of all fishmen!" He declared with rage.
"Who would want to become your minions?" Luffy said with a mocking tone.
"Luffy, stop!. They are already very angry." Chopper begged.
"Well, what a pity. But we will not let you pass…Sea Lion!" He shouted his command and the Sea King obeyed, moving forward with its large mouth open, ready to destroy their entire ship with one bite.
"Franky!" Nami shouted.
"You wanna fight?. Come here!" Challenged Luffy.
"Go!" Said Vivi.
Franky smiled.
"The Sunny is a lion too, we will settle this properly on another occasion. Coup De Burst!"
The ship propelled forward at an incredible speed, barely escaping the monster's jaws.
The bubble became smaller at an alarming rate as the air was used for the population.
"We are almost out of air…" Luffy tried to hold the bubble up.
"We are going to get squashed" Cried Buggy.
"Hang on!. We will reach the island in a few seconds" Said Franky.
The ship moved away from the Sea Kings who had no way to catch up to them and could only stare in awe at the fleeing ship.
"We are almost there!" Vivi held the bubble up for Nami and Robin.
"Here we come, my lovely mermaids!" Shouted Sani with joy.
As soon as the ship impacted against the island, what little was left of their own bubble was destroyed.
"We lost out coating!" Cried Nami.
"What's more, this bubble has two layers, most ships will be destroyed after reaching the layer filled with air" Explained Robinh while the ship was about to go into free fall.
"Give it another burst Franky," said Vivi.
With one last push, the ship reached the inner layer of the island.
But as soon as they did, they realized the trouble they were in now.
"Sea water!" warned Zoro.
But it was too late, the ship plummeted inside the bubble and everything was filled with water.
Vivi was forced to close her eyes at the unpleasant experience.
She had gained resistance to the devil fruit curse, she even became unaffected by seastone cuffs, but being completely submerged in seawater was a different monster to conquer.
She had a theory. If she was able to completely master her fruit, she should be immune to any negative effects related to seawater for as long as she remained in her awakened state.
Unfortunately, she was not there yet. The unpleasant sensation invaded her as she felt her powers weakening and her consciousness sleeping away.
She tried to fight back, to open her eyes and force his awakening again but it was useless, her powers were diminishing and so was his consciousness…

When her eyes opened again, Vivi found herself in an old-looking room, laying on top of a hard mattress with some thin sheet covering her body.
'Where am I?'
That was her first thought.
'Why am I naked?' Was her second one after lifting the thin sheets.
She felt perfectly fine, any wounds she may have gotten before, were long gone.
The only thing injured at this point was her ego. Even without perfect memory, she is never going to forget that sense of powerlessness while drowning.
'I don't want to feel like that ever again…I need to train harder.'
The door opened and an old lady came in.
"Oh, you are finally awake. "
"You are the one that saved me?."
"My granddaughter actually…" The old lady stared at Vivi, who didn't even bother to cover herself with the sheets.
"I'll tell her to bring you your clothes…they should be dry already."
"Grandma, Is she a-ahhh" A young beautiful mermaid with long red hair wandered into the room and saw Vivi, standing there like on the day she was born.
"You are naked!"
"So it seems." Vivi smiled, finding the bashful behavior of the mermaid very amusing.
"Go get her clothes, Bell" Ordered the old lady.
"I-I will go get her…yes, that" She ran away from the room, or more like, she jumped away using her mermaid tail. Unlike her grandma, she was still too young to walk.
The old lady gave Vivi a disapproving look.
"Young girls these days have no shame…" She shook her head in disapproval.
After getting dressed, Vivi was invited to join them for lunch and was given a brief explanation of the current situation of events.
Bell, the young mermaid had found her unconscious while working around ten hours prior and brought her to her house.
She and her grandma were seaweed farmers and live in one of the poor districts of Fishman Island.
Vivi told her that her crew had an incident while entering the island.
"So, you don't know anything about my crew then?"
"There are many pirate crews that pass through here every week, but I haven't heard of any incidents happening at the port lately." Said the old lady.
"No, we didn't enter through the port." Explained Vivi.
"But that's the only entrance…" Said Bell, looking confused.
"Well, you see…my crew rarely enter the islands the intended way…"
