章 48: Water 7 War III

The chaotic scene at Water 7 escalated as the Marines aboard the battleships continued to reel from the psychological blow dealt by Draco's display of power. Their morale was in shambles, officers whispered doubts, soldiers hesitated, and the chain of command began to fracture. Even the Admiral candidates stationed aboard Kong's flagship were momentarily stalled, their confidence tempered by the sheer devastation they had witnessed.

[P/R: Author really just wrote, "There will become a mess" Dude, what?] [A: Noo!!]

At the bow of Kong's battleship, the tension was palpable. Kizaru, lazily adjusting his sunglasses, refrained from launching a laser beam, his usual smugness replaced by a rare seriousness. "Hmm... quite the showman, that Draco," he muttered, though his usual smirk lacked its usual smugness.

Akainu, standing nearby, clenched his fists, magma dripping ominously. His burning rage was momentarily cooled, "Things aren't going to plan..." he growled, his voice low. Even his usual destructive instincts were tempered by the reality of the situation.

[Buggy and Shanks]

Meanwhile, on the island at Dock 3, the main fighting force of Roger's crew sprang into action. Buggy and Shanks led the charge, joined by Spencer, Sunbell, Seagull, Doringo, Mugren, and Ganryu. The remaining crewmates stayed behind to guard the hostages—a crucial task that couldn't be neglected.

"The Marines are waging war? Proper war?" Sunbell mused aloud, his tone confused as he sprinted alongside the others.

"That's what Draco said," Shanks replied, his sword at the ready. "And someone has to keep those two hostages in check."

Buggy, gripping his cursed Kitetsu with one hand and a handful of knives with the other, grinned nervously. His excitement masked the trembling anticipation that came with stepping onto a battlefield this large for the first time. 'War... this is my chance!' he thought, his pulse racing.

As they reached the shore, passing Dock 3 and advancing to Dock 4, the air grew heavy with an unnatural presence.

"Wait," Doringo said, pausing mid-step. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the area. "There are tens... no, hundreds of them."

As these hundreds of identical men rushed forward on them,

"Where is Taylor," One yelled

"Tell me nicely!" Another yelled

"Hmph," Spencer muttered, stepping forward with a deadly calm. He unsheathed his blade, its edge gleaming.

{Fathoming Cross Section}

With one fluid swing, Spencer sent a slashing wave of energy outward, slicing through twenty foes in an instant. He sheathed his sword slowly, exhaling as the figures before them crumbled, not into blood, but into pieces of paper that scattered into the wind.

"Just paper..." Spencer remarked coldly, watching the remnants disperse.

"Paper clones!" Buggy exclaimed, recognizing their enemy's handiwork. "That paper clone bastard is up to his tricks!" Without waiting, Buggy charged forward, unsheathing Kitetsu and wielding his knives with an unpredictable, chaotic flair.

"My name is Ma-!"

{Cyclone Disburse!}

Getting cut off, Buggy spun like a whirlwind, his Kitetsu slashing in wide arcs while his knives carved smaller, precise paths. Using his Devil Fruit powers to separate parts of his body, Buggy increased his reach, decimating thirty to forty paper clones in a single sweep.

"Muagmaugmaug!" Mugren laughed, his cigar clenched in his teeth. Gripping one of the clones by its leg, he swung it like a club, smashing other clones aside with sheer brute force. Each impact scattered the clones into fragments, but more kept coming.

Despite their efforts, the clones didn't diminish in number. It was a battle of attrition, and Buggy could feel his adrenaline surging. "There's too many of these things!" he yelled, still slashing his way through. "Shanks, get moving! Doringo, Mugren, and I will hold them off!"

Shanks hesitated for a moment, his blade mid-swing, but then nodded. "You heard him! Let's go!" he barked.

With that, Shanks, Spencer, Sunbell, Seagull, and Ganryu leapt onto the rooftops, moving quickly toward Dock 5. Mace's clones surged toward them, but Shanks cut them down with ease, his strikes precise, not willing to waste time.

"Clear the way!" Shanks shouted, his voice echoing over the chaos.

"Thankfully, all the citizens cleared out when the Marine horns started blaring..." Buggy muttered, his voice tinged with relief.

Before he could finish his thought, a sudden blow struck his back. "Augh!" he yelped, stumbling forward. Snarling, Buggy spun around, catching the offending clone by its arm.

"Gotcha!" he growled, effortlessly tossing the clone over his shoulder using his hips and slamming it into the ground with a loud thud! Using what Draco taught him as a "Judo technique". Without a moment's hesitation, Buggy brought Kitetsu down in a clean, swift arc, slicing through the clone's neck. It crumbled into a flurry of scattered paper.

"How many of these things are there?!" Buggy shouted, his frustration mounting as more clones pressed in.

[Oden and Aokiji]

The scene shifts back to Oden and Aokiji, their fierce battle continuing to shake the battlefield. Aokiji gritted his teeth, fully aware of the monstrous strength of the samurai before him. Oden's physical power was overwhelming, and his mastery of the sword was unparalleled. Each time Aokiji tried to close the distance or freeze him in place, Oden would shatter the ice with a wide grin, charging forward like an unstoppable force.

{Ice Brigade!}

Aokiji roared, creating a massive crescent-shaped barrier of ice to fend Oden off.

Without a second thought, Oden barreled straight through the icy defense, shattering it into shards as if it were nothing. Laughing boisterously, he unleashed a relentless flurry of sword strikes, his blades glowing with haki-infused power.

Aokiji, already fatigued, tried to dodge each attack. When dodging was impossible, he was forced to block with arms coated in hardened Armament Haki. Each clash of blades against his defenses rang out like the clash of steel on steel.

"WAHAHAHA! Is that all you've got, Marine?" Oden bellowed, his voice echoing across the icy battlefield. Without warning, Oden delivered a crushing upward kick, catching Aokiji in the midsection and sending him hurtling skyward.

"Ugh!" Aokiji grunted in pain, blood spraying from his mouth as the blow launched him high into the air.

Not giving his opponent, a moment to recover, Oden crouched into a stance, his swords crossed in preparation.

{Paradise... TOTSUKA!}

He shouted, leaping after Aokiji with immense speed. In a single motion, he delivered an X-shaped slash, his haki emanating violently toward Aokiji.

Seeing the devastating attack hurtling toward him, Aokiji's eyes widened. "I might be dead here..." he muttered under his breath, frantically coating his entire body in Armament Haki to brace for impact.

Ting!

The force of Oden's strike sent Aokiji careening toward the sea like a comet, his body crashing through the air with an intense pressure that made him feel as though he were being crushed.

"So much... pressure!" Aokiji yelled, blood pouring from his mouth as the X-shaped attack carved a massive scar across his chest, extending from his shoulders down to his obliques. His vacation uniform was reduced to tattered rags as he spiraled toward the water.

The impact of his crash sent waves surging outward, only for the sea to quickly freeze over as Aokiji instinctively activated his ice powers. The shattered waves formed jagged ice structures, scattering in all directions.

"Aokiji! You brat! That samurai is leagues above you!" Garp's booming voice reached him just as the Vice Admiral struggled to regain his composure. Garp leapt down to the icy battlefield, landing beside Aokiji and hoisting him up with one arm.

"You alright?" Garp asked, his tone gruff but with a hint of concern.

Aokiji coughed weakly, a wry smile crossing his face. "Ahaha... never better, I guess," he muttered before nearly losing consciousness.

"Oi, don't pass out on me yet!" Garp barked. "Turn the battlefield to ice before you do! We can't destroy the whole damn Water 7, even if it's a war zone!"

Aokiji groaned internally. 'Can't even catch a break...' he thought but managed to nod weakly. "Yes, sir," he replied aloud. Placing his hand on the icy ground, he whispered,

{Ice Age...}

[P/R: I feel you Kuzan...]

The temperature plummeted as an enormous wave of frost spread out in all directions. The once tumultuous sea surrounding Dock 5 turned solid, creating a frozen battlefield that stretched thousands of meters.

"Good work, Kuzan," Garp said, his tone lighter as he returned to the battleship, settling the injured Admiral down carefully. Turning back toward the icy field, Garp grinned wide, his energy brimming with excitement.

"Now we've got a real battlefield to fight on!" he roared, his booming laughter echoing.

[The Shore]

The scene shifts back to Draco, standing atop the ice battlefield, his crimson red eye scanning the horizon as he observes the events unfolding. The sea, now frozen solid by Aokiji, had created a massive stage for what would be a monumental clash. Behind him, Roger, Rayleigh, Scopper, and Oden approached, their presence still towering over Draco.

[P/R: It was "They stood there still taller than Draco", but it didn't make sense to me]

[A: It did to me]

"That's a lot of marines!" Oden bellowed, his voice booming as he gripped Enma and Ame no Habakiri tightly, his wide grin as unrelenting as his spirit.

"It seems they've created a battlefield for us…" Rayleigh muttered, his sharp eyes surveying the frozen expanse. "Couldn't we just, I don't know, retreat?"

"Who said anything about retreating?" Roger interjected, unsheathing his blade, Ace, in one smooth motion. His grin stretched wide as he turned to his first mate.

Rayleigh sighed, pressing his fingers to his forehead in exasperation. "Roger, are you sure about this? This is far more than we usually take on. And don't forget, we need to leave tomorrow."

In the back, Scopper chuckled quietly, resting his twin axes on his broad shoulders. "Hmph."

Roger turned to Draco, grinning even wider. "Draco, Garp's mine! Sorry, but you'll have to find your own rival, Wahahahaha!"

Draco raised an eyebrow, shrugging nonchalantly. "Fine by me. I'll take Kong, then." His tone was calm, but there was a spark of anticipation in his eyes. "Kong... King Kong...?"

'I knew he'd agree,' Roger thought to himself, laughing aloud as he tightened his grip on Ace.

The unsheathing of Roger's sword seemed to ignite the moment. Rayleigh followed suit with a resigned sigh, drawing his own blade. The crew's aura grew heavier as they prepared to engage the marine forces now gathering in droves across the icy expanse.

Draco's sharp gaze noticed the marines stepping off their ships, equipped with specialized gear to maneuver on the ice. "Clever," he muttered, admiring their preparedness even as he planned to dismantle them.

Suddenly, a thunderous sound behind them signaled the arrival of Shanks and the others. "Captain!" Shanks called out, his saber gleaming in the cold light as he led the reinforcements.

Roger turned, his face lighting up with joy. "Shanks! Where's the rest of the crew?"

"They're guarding the hostages," Shanks explained. "We ran into that paper clone guy on the way here. Buggy's still fighting him."

"Good! And don't look so nervous Shanks," Roger said, his confidence infectious. "We've gotten out of worse situations. We'll survive this too!"

Shanks muttered under his breath, "Not on this scale…"

"What was that?" Roger snapped, his tone sharp.

"Nothing!" Shanks replied quickly, gripping his saber with determination.

As the crew assembled, Draco's gaze shifted briefly to a distant rooftop. There, perched on the edge, was Enel, his stoic demeanor betrayed only by the subtle tapping of his right foot.

"Good luck, Enel," Draco thought, a small smile forming on his lips. Enel, sensing Draco's gaze, glanced back and gave a firm nod.

Roger caught Draco's eye and grinned, his voice booming across the frozen battlefield. "WAHAHAHA! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" he roared, charging forward with Ace held high.

The air crackled as Roger unleashed one of his most devastating techniques right out of the gate.

{Divine… TRIBUTE!}

He bellowed, a massive crescent slash of red and black energy erupting from his blade. The further the attack traveled, the larger and more destructive it became, ripping through the ice with terrifying force.

Unnoticed by most, a small trickle of blood escaped Roger's lips. "This sickness…" he thought grimly, though he refused to let it show, his grin as wide as ever.

From the marine side, Garp's booming laughter erupted as he leapt from the bow of his ship. "BWAHAHAHA! ROGER, YOU SHOW UP NOW OF ALL TIMES?" His eyes gleamed with excitement as he charged toward the incoming attack.

"WAHAHAHA! GARP, LET'S BATTLE ONCE AGAIN!" Roger replied, his stance unwavering as he watched his attack sail toward his rival.

Garp's entire arm became shrouded in Advanced Conqueror's Haki, streaks of black and red lightning crackling wildly around him. With an uppercut motion, he unleashed his own devastating technique.

{RED HOLE}

Garp roared, meeting Roger's Divine Tribute head-on. The clash created a shockwave so immense that shards of ice exploded outward, scattering across the battlefield.

[A: If Blue Hole smashes the opponent down, Red Hole will send them flying up]

"GRRAAAAH!" Garp's voice thundered as his attack redirected Roger's slash upward, sending it dissipating into the sky. The battlefield fell silent for a brief moment, the sheer power of the two powerhouses overwhelming all others.

As the ice settled, Garp stood tall, looking at his arm, bruised, a wide grin on his face as he cracked his knuckles. "YOU HAVEN'T LOST YOUR TOUCH, ROGER."

Roger laughed heartily, his grip on Ace steady. "NEITHER HAVE YOU, GARP! THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!"
