章 7: Chapter 7 : Heading Down!!
Mr. 3's hairstyle is quite peculiar—it's shaped like a giant number '3'!
Buggy finds it just as baffling as his own oversized red nose, which seems to have grown out of nowhere.
Casually, Buggy grabbed two standard long swords from the monitoring room and swung them through the air, creating a sharp whooshing sound!
Buggy might know a bit about many things, but he's not exactly skilled in any particular area. When it comes to swordsmanship, he's far from mastering the art of 'Iron Slashing'!
However, with his Devil Fruit ability, Buggy is at least a swordsman capable of 'cutting iron' in terms of swordsmanship. "It's not great, but it'll have to do for now!"
These standard long knives are just average quality and will probably wear out after a few fights. But since Buggy doesn't have a better option at the moment, he has no choice but to use them for now.
Adjusting to the feel of the knives, Buggy shook his head slightly and headed toward Mr. 3's cell.
Since Buggy is responsible for the monitoring room on the second basement floor, news of his actions hasn't reached the upper floors. This gives him an opportunity! Turning around, Buggy stopped in front of cell 38 on this floor.
Mr. 3 is in this cell!
As soon as Buggy appeared, the surrounding prisoners took notice and gathered around, calling out to him with hopeful cries:
"Hey, little brother, why are you outside?"
"Little brother, let us out too!"
"Little brother, let us out and we'll be forever grateful!"
These prisoners, seeing a glimmer of hope, were suddenly ecstatic, though they wouldn't realize the gravity of their situation until they calmed down.
However, Buggy didn't engage with them. Instead, he took out the key, unlocked cell 38, and tossed it to Mr. 3 amidst the crowd.
Mr. 3, momentarily stunned, quickly used the key to free himself from his shackles and then threw it to the other prisoners, who eagerly used it to release themselves.
Ignoring the others, Buggy directly addressed Mr. 3: "I'm planning to escape from prison. Do you want to come with me?"
Mr. 3 was taken aback and seemed unsure.
He didn't appear to recognize Buggy. Meanwhile, the other prisoners mistakenly thought Buggy was speaking to them and excitedly agreed, "Yes! Brother, let's break out of here together!"
"That's right! I'm done with this place! We need to get out of here now!"
"Hahaha, I'm finally free!"
Buggy glanced at the overly excited group and couldn't help but remind them, "Are you sure you're mentally prepared for this escape? You know, there are a lot of dangerous beasts on this level!" As soon as Buggy's words were spoken, the crowd's cheer abruptly died down.
A low, menacing growl echoed from a distance, causing everyone to tense up in fear.
"Sorry, I got a bit too excited!"
"Well, I'm a model prisoner; how could I escape from here?"
"I should probably go back to my cell!"
The prisoners quickly snapped back to reality and retreated to their cells!
Only Mr. 3, the person Buggy had come for, stood there with a conflicted expression.
Buggy looked at Mr. 3 and asked, "Aren't you going back to your cell?"
At Buggy's question, Mr. 3, who had been hesitating, suddenly became resolute.
Mr. 3 shook his head and said, "No. Instead of cowering in this dark cell every day, I'd rather fight!"
Buggy nodded with satisfaction. "This kid really has the makings of a great partner!"
"Then follow me; I'll help you escape!"
Buggy led the way confidently.
Seeing this, Mr. 3 quickly followed behind Buggy. Although it was only a short distance, Mr. 3 sensed something was off.
"Wait!" Mr. 3 hurried over to Buggy and pointed out, "This isn't the way to the stairwell! The stairwell is over there!"
Buggy didn't respond, saying only, "We're not heading to the stairwell right now!"
Mr. 3 was confused and asked, "Not going to the stairwell? Are you taking the elevator? That's risky! Besides, it's not even the way to the elevator!" Buggy explained, "We're not taking the elevator. We're heading to the next floor!"
Mr. 3 was even more puzzled and asked excitedly, "Why? Shouldn't we be going up to escape? Isn't going down just making things harder?"
Buggy retorted, "Do you really think the two of us can break out of the world's largest prison, known as the 'Impenetrable Wall'?"
"Let's not even talk about the guards here; even if we manage to escape, all that awaits us is the endless sea!"
"In this situation, escaping from prison with just the two of us is simply impossible!"
Buggy's words struck Mr. 3 like a hammer, making his face grow increasingly grim. Just as Mr. 3 was about to sink into despair, he remembered Buggy's calm demeanor when he made those remarks.
Since Buggy had mentioned a jailbreak, it meant he must already have a plan to tackle these problems!
Desperately, Mr. 3 asked, "So, you must have a way to escape successfully, right?"
Buggy nodded and said, "The chances are slim, but I'm determined to give it a shot!"
Mr. 3 inquired, "What's the plan?"
Buggy explained, "I've incited the prisoners on the basement level to start a riot, drawing the attention of the entire Impel Down to them!"
"So, all we need to do is head to the lower levels, free those prisoners, and create enough chaos to topple the whole of Impel Down!"
Mr. 3, known for his resourcefulness as the chief strategist of the Baroque Works, quickly realized that Buggy's plan had significant flaws.
Not only was it questionable whether they could even release the prisoners on the lower levels due to heavy guards, but even if they managed to free them, there was no guarantee they could defeat the advancing guards!
The prisoners on this level are already subdued by ferocious beasts and dare not resist at all!
And the next level, Starvation Hell, will be even worse! The number of surviving prisoners is irrelevant; the conditions will only deteriorate further the deeper they go.
Given these factors, the chances of Buggy's plan succeeding are extremely slim. Yet, under these circumstances, it's their only option for a successful jailbreak. They have no choice but to fight for it!
