章 15: Chapter 15
Danzo looked at the monster before him, with every single simulation he could make of the fight based on what he had just seen leaning towards the simple fact that he would lose this fight.
He would die.
But as much as his survival instincts may have preferred he run, his will as a Shinobi of Konoha made him step forward, as he knew that only he could bare the darkness of eliminating the threat before him.
The handful of remaining ROOT forces fell back, forming a wide perimeter around their leader and the man who had single-handedly decimated their ranks, though they were being focused on by Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato. Each of them were ready to attack if they tried to ambush Garp.

In the Shinobi World, everyone's Chakra Nature possess a slight factor to it. Some people have Chakra that is attuned to an element, while others take on descriptions like being sharp or fluid.
But the primary reason that Garp wanted to eliminate the scourge named Danzo off the Shinobi World was simply due to the nature of his Chakra.
He possessed a dark, sludge shaped aura, one that seemed to show that his soul was just as rotten and disgusting as his ideals.

"I must admit, Garp." Danzo's voice was cold, calculating, "I underestimated you. A mistake I shall not repeat."
Garp's eyes narrowed. "Your mistake, Danzo, was thinking you could threaten my family and walk away unscathed. That is the reason why you won't walk away today."
Without further warning, Danzo's hands blurred through a series of seals.
"Wind Style: Wind Bullets!!"
A barrage of wind bullets shot towards Garp at incredible speed. But Garp, even without his Observation Haki, saw the attack coming before Danzo had even finished his hand seals.
With movements too fast for the normal eye to follow, Garp easily weaved between the wind bullets as if they were a gentle breeze, closing the distance between himself and Danzo in an instant.
Garp then through a casual punch, his Armament Haki-infused fist aimed straight for Danzo's chest.
Danzo's eye widened in surprise at Garp's speed. At the last possible moment, he substituted himself with a log, appearing several meters away.
A massive shockwave was created behind the force of the attack, with it leveling the area behind Danzo's prior location and creating a massive clearing.
'Such speed!' Danzo thought, his mind racing. 'And that strength... I need to keep my distance.'
Aloud, he called out, "Impressive, Garp. But let's see how you handle this.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Great Sphere!!"
A massive orb of compressed wind formed in front of Danzo, then shot toward Garp with devastating force. The very air seemed to warp around the technique, trees in its path being shredded to splinters.
Garp, however, looked at the attack as if it was any other, completely unbothered. As the wind sphere approached, he drew back his fist, coating it in another layer of Armament Haki that gleamed with a metallic sheen.
Garp then threw a punch at the attack, unphased by the destructive nature of the Technique.
The collision was cataclysmic. For a single sliver of moment, it seemed as if the two forces were evenly matched. Then, with a sound like thunder, Garp's fist broke through. The wind sphere dissipated, the backlash creating a shockwave that forced Danzo to brace himself to avoid being blown away.
Danzo's visible eye widened in disbelief. 'He... he broke through my strongest wind technique with just his fist?'
But Garp wasn't done. Using the momentum from his punch, he launched himself towards Danzo with blinding speed.
Shigan: Oren (Finger Gun: Yellow Lotus)
Garp's fingers became a blur, striking at Danzo with the force and speed of a machine gun. Danzo, caught off guard by the sudden assault, managed to avoid the worst of it, but several strikes found their mark, leaving him gasping in pain as holes appeared in his shoulder, legs, and abdomen.
Leaping back to create some distance, Danzo's hands flashed through more seals.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Wave!!"
A blade of wind, sharp enough to cut through steel, sliced towards Garp. But Garp, his Observation Haki allowing him to perceive the attack's path, simply tilted his head to the side, letting the wind blade pass harmlessly by.
"Is that all you've got, Danzo?" Garp taunted, his voice hard. "I expected more from the so-called Shinobi No Yami."
Danzo's eye narrowed in fury. "You haven't seen anything yet, Garp.
Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!!"
A massive fireball erupted from Danzo's mouth, hurtling towards Garp. But before it could reach him, Danzo followed up with another technique.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Serial Waves!!!"
The wind technique merged with the fireball, causing it to expand and intensify dramatically. The combined attack roared towards Garp, the heat so intense it was melting the very ground in its path.
Garp, however, didn't even flinch as he chuckled at the attack. Instead, he took a deep breath, his body seeming to swell slightly as he placed a fist out.
Rokugan!" (Six King Gun)
The shockwave that erupted from Garp's body was unlike anything Danzo had ever seen. It met the fire-wind combination head-on, extinguishing it instantly and continuing on towards Danzo.
Danzo's eye widened in shock. He barely had time to cross his arms in front of him before the shockwave hit, sending him flying backwards once again. He crashed through several trees and debris before coming to a stop, his body battered and bruised.
As Danzo struggled to his feet, he saw Garp walking calmly towards him, seemingly untouched by their battle so far.
'This... this is impossible,' Danzo thought, a hint of fear creeping into his mind for the first time. 'What is he?'
But Danzo wasn't one to give up easily. His hands formed a seal, and suddenly, strange markings began to spread across the ground around Garp as each of the remaining ROOT Shinobi made a seal.
Fūinjutsu: Shishi Enjin!" (Sealing Technique: Four Violet Flames Formation)
A purple barrier sprang up around Garp, trapping him within.
Danzo allowed himself a small smile of triumph. 'This should allow me to finish him off with that. Even I may fall, Cat and the others should be able to capture the children. This would be the final deed that I do for Konoha.' Danzo thought to himself.
But Garp merely raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Well then, let me show you something interesting, Danzo."
Garp closed his eyes, concentrating.
Suddenly, the air around him began to shimmer and distort, as a chill traveled down the spines of both Danzo and the remaining ROOT Shinobi. A wave of invisible force suddenly emanated from him, causing the very essence of the world to tremble.
The Sky Screamed.
The Earth Cried.
The Heavens Twisted.
For a Supreme King finally graced the world with his full presence.
Danzo's eye widened in shock as cracks began to appear in the barrier. "Impossible! Wha-What is this power!!?"
Garp opened his eyes, which now glowed with an inner light as he gave a full smile. "This, Danzo, is the reason that even the Emperors of The Sea would retreat if they heard that I was coming. My name struck fear into those who went against Justice. I am the man who chased the King of the Pirates. I am the man who could even make the false Gods of the World cease their petty actions. How could someone like you hope to understand the essence of being unwavering in your dreams!"
With a roar that seemed to shake the very heavens, Garp released a massive burst of Conqueror's Haki. The barrier shattered like glass, the fragments dissolving into nothingness.
Danzo stumbled back, overwhelmed by the sheer presence radiating from Garp. For the first time in decades, he felt true fear.
But Garp wasn't done. With speed that defied comprehension, he closed the distance between them.
His fist, now coated in what could only be described as sheer intent and Willpower, headed towards Garp, with it carrying such power that the air trembled.
Garp grabbed the face of Danzo, with him staring into the rat's eyes with an intensity that could kill.
"You are PATHETIC!!"
Blue Hole!!
Garp's Haki seemed to saturate the entire body of Danzo, with it giving him pain worse than any form of torture he had known. His entire Nervous System seemed to getting destroyed, one nerve after another.
Then, with a sound like a thunderclap, Danzo was sent flying. He crashed through tree after tree, finally coming to a stop nearly a hundred meters away.
As Danzo lay there, every bone in his body feeling broken, he realized the true extent of the gap between them. Garp wasn't just strong – he was in a league entirely of his own.
Only someone on the level of the God of Shinobi could hope to fight this... Monster.
But Danzo was nothing if not stubborn. With tremendous effort, he barely forced himself to his feet, blood dripping from numerous wounds.
"I... I won't lose." Danzo gasped out. "Not when the fate of Konoha hangs in the balance!"
His hand formed a seal, and suddenly, the red eye in his left eye socket began to spin – the Mangekyo Sharingan of his old friend, Kagami Uchiha.
"Kotoamatsukami!" Danzo cried out, channeling all his remaining chakra into the ultimate genjutsu.
For a moment, it seemed as if the technique had worked. Garp stood still, his eyes unfocused.
Danzo allowed himself a glimmer of hope, fighting through the pain to speak. "Now, Garp, you will serve Konoha. You will-"
But his words were cut short as Garp's eyes suddenly cleared. With a pulse of Conqueror's Haki, Garp shattered the genjutsu as if it were nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
"Nice try, Danzo." Garp said, his voice low and dangerous. "But such petty tricks mean little to a Supreme King."
Danzo staggered back, his last trump card defeated. "How... how is this possible? The Kotoamatsukami is supposed to be unbreakable!!!"
Garp advanced slowly, purposefully. "There's a lot about this world you don't understand, Danzo. And now, I'm afraid it's time to end this."
In a last, desperate move, Danzo launched himself at Garp, a kunai in hand. But to Garp, even without his Observation Haki, Danzo's movements seemed to be in slow motion.
As Danzo approached, Garp's hand shot out, faster than the eye could follow. It connected with Danzo's chest, but instead of a straightforward impact, something far more devastating occurred.
"Nebula." Garp murmured.
The advanced application of Armament Haki sent shockwaves through Danzo's body. But unlike a normal punch, which would have simply sent Danzo flying again, this attack targeted something far more vital.
Danzo felt a searing pain shoot through his body, centered on his spine. He crumpled to the ground, his entire body now suddenly unable to move completely.
"Wh-what did you do to me?" Danzo gasped out, panic evident in his voice.
Garp stood over him, his expression blank as he looked at the rat.
"I've destroyed the very functionality of your Nervous System, Danzo. You'll never walk again, let alone form hand seals to mold chakra. You'll be lucky if you live past the week, but you will feel pain for the rest of your life, and no amount of Medical Ninjutsu or Regenerative Cells will be able to repair what I have done today. It is usually a fate that I would not wish on my worst enemies,
But targeting my grandkids removed all my kindness."
As the realization of his condition sank in, Danzo's face contorted with a mixture of pain, fury, and fear. "You... you can't do this! Konoha needs me! The shinobi world needs me!"
Garp shook his head sadly. "No, Danzo. The world doesn't need men like you – men who would sacrifice everything, even their own humanity, in the name of a twisted ideal of peace. Who decided that you could choose what is right? Who decided you could choose what Justice is?"
He raised his foot, prepared to deliver the final blow. "It's time for you to answer for your crimes, Danzo Shimura."
But before Garp could strike, two figures suddenly appeared between him and Danzo. Garp recognized them immediately – Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, the other two elders of Konoha.
He had detected them arriving, with that being the only reason that the ant beneath his feet was still breathing. And he knew of a way to work this situation to his favor, but he would need Danzo to make sure this worked.
"Stop!" Homura called out, his voice authoritative despite the fear evident in his eyes. "We cannot allow you to kill a Konoha elder, Garp-san!"
Koharu, her stance wary, added, "Please, let us discuss this. Surely we can come to some sort of agreement?"
After a moment of tense silence, Garp lowered his foot down on the chest of Danzo, hurting the man further but not killing. "Very well." he said, his voice grave. "We'll negotiate. But I don't expect to see this bastard again."
The two elders exchanged glances, then nodded. "We understand." Homura said. "Let us discuss terms."
[AN: Look, I know what you guys are thinking, and honestly I know I would be thinking it to. But allow me to make this promise to you; Danzo is not coming back as an antagonist. Hashirama Cells, Medical Ninjutsu, or any other ways to heal will be useless, as Garp destroyed the very functionality of his Chakra Network. The only reason he isn't going to be killed is because
1. I want to detail his full fall from grace and suffering, he kind of deserves it (This version of Danzo. I do still think he could have been an interesting character if done write, as I have detailed in my other books. This is more of the traditional Danzo lol.
2. To allow Garp to learn Ninjutsu, the basics of Chakra, and teach the Grandkids it, as it will allow them to grow stronger. I never agreed with idea of having an outside power system meaning you couldn't learn the one of the world you are in.]
