Hiroshi sighed as he looked at his shadow in the simulator just focused on learning the chakra threads and making the seals for Danzo. As the simulation got a little monotonous and boring Hiroshi's thoughts wondered what could have happened that changed the trajectory by so much.
'My identity as Jun Fujimura is probably flagged by ROOT at least, they must have collected some clues or maybe my old employer filed some form of complaint that possibly caught their eye, so quite possibly I can not walk into Konoha as Jun Fujimura. It was a risk not worth taking.'
Hiroshi was a little miffed about his identity possibly being exposed, he paid a steep price for it, and although it worked and he got out of Konoha, having an extra cover identity would have been better. The second thing was the limitation of the Secret Skill: Blood Bone Transformation Technique. It was something so basic, it was practically in the name screaming at him but he never noticed that while the technique gave him a perfect physical disguise, his inner body and tenketsu never changed so a Hyuga could easily spot him.
'Now I need another seal to disguise my chakra signature.'
Hiroshi added another check mark on his mental notes and he tried to reason out what happened after he arrived in Konoha in the simulation. Most likely his using the entry permit of Jun Fujimura got reported to ROOT agents, during the whole day he most likely had several agents who specialized in stealth following him keeping tabs on what his purpose on returning to Konoha was. His disguise probably drew Danzo's attention hence he was subjected to Katoamatsukami instead of getting his mind ripped off by a Yamanaka.
'Danzo probably realized the potential of the transformation jutsu, none of the other country's shinobi had eyes that could peer into one's tenketsu so this jutsu was especially advantageous for Konoha Shinobi's... so he kidnapped me and used the god genjutsu to turn me into a 'loyal' ROOT operative. But what did he see, I know you can manipulate memories with Katoamatsukami but how much of my memories could he see, he couldn't have seen everything otherwise he won't have asked so many questions, the time limit on how much he could see with Katoamatsukami would restrict him from see all his memories'
Hiroshi thought hard about it but couldn't find a reasonable explanation, plus there was also the fact that Danzo never asked anything about the glowing screens that float around him, since Danzo supposedly changed his memories, then surely he would have stumbled upon memories of him doing a simulation.
'Did he just ignore that? Or can he not see them, something along the lines of no one other than the host can perceive this system thing?'
The questions as always never stopped but there was some new development in the ongoing simulation that drew Hiroshi's attention.

[Day 39: You woke up once again in your room, and you quickly got dressed into your ROOT uniform, after going through your morning routine you sat down on your seat and start making Chakra suppression seals and Earth Shadow Armor Seals, after spending around 8 hours and completing your quota of seals, you walk to the armory and deposit them. After returning to your room you once again tried to learn the chakra threads, after several failed attempts your skill {Shape manipulation} leveled up to lvl 3. You acquired a new skill {Chakra threads}.]

'Wasn't {Shape manipulation} the skill I got when I completed stage 2 of the Rasengan... yeah I remember Kakashi explaining to Naruto that the Rasengan was the ultimate shape manipulation exercise, which means there should be other shape manipulation exercises too, I just happen to know the best one, one that is currently outside my capabilities that's why I got stuck.'
Hiroshi looked as the simulation continued, his shadow self focused on mastering the chakra threads as ordered and the monotonous cycle continued for a bit before it broke after 20 days of grinding, at least the {Chakra Threads} leveled up, while the {Shape manipulation} was still stuck at lvl 3.

[Day 53: You woke up once again in your room, and you quickly got dressed into your ROOT uniform, you break your monotonous routine and leave your room to walk towards the main base, the flurry of activity has died down and you wait for your summons as you observe your surroundings. This time you didn't have to wait long as the door opened, as you slip inside you notice that you aren't alone this time, there are three more people waiting in the room. You quickly bowed to Danzo-sama before patiently waiting for your orders.]

'Is it related to the invasion, the timing should be right, it seems like he did decide to intervene in Orochimaru's plan.'
[Day 53: "Your mission is to go to the base at Nami town at the border of Land of Water and keep an eye out for any infiltrating enemies. Ichi!" Danzo ordered and an ink-black-haired guy walked forward, "I want you to use your jutsu to keep a tight perimeter around the area, at any sign of infiltration I want you 4 to evacuate base #172 through the tunnel system underneath while you use your beast imitation to send a quick signal back, Understood?" Danzo asked, his question was answered by 4 uniform shouts of, "Yes, Danzo-sama" as he waved his hand to dismiss your group.]

[Day 54: Your group of 4 left the main base and sneaked out of Konoha through the tunnel system, the border to the Land of Water was far and it would take our group 3 days to reach your destination.]

[Day 60: It has been 3 days since your group arrived at a semi-deserted base, after quickly securing your escape route, Sai disappeared to set up a perimeter while the rest of you stayed put and waited for his signal. In the last three days, your group has communicated a handful of times, your orders were unclear so you spent your time meditating, getting ready to face any situation that arises.]

'I'm pretty sure that this is a bogus mission that Danzo created to safeguard ROOT's assets. Kirigakure should be in the middle of a coup right now, or at worst recovering from one, there is no way they would want to infiltrate another shinobi nation right now.'
[Day 70: It's been another 10 days with no signs indicating a breach, there were rumors floating around the town about the death of the Third Hokage as chaos reigned supreme in the town for a day before it subsided. Your team stayed put at your mission post as you still had another 10 days to go.]

'So he didn't intervene in the end? What made him change his mind or was I overcooking this in my head.'
[Day 72: A messenger hawk arrived at the base with instructions to come back to the main base, the 4 of you left the base and were on the way back within a couple of minutes.]
'Please don't tell me Danzo did something more stupid than not defending Konoha and letting Orochimaru raze through Konoha.'

[Day 75: As you enter Konoha through the tunnels you heard rumors floating around the streets about how Konoha and Suna might go to war since the Ichibi Jinchuriki was missing.]

AN- Alright, So I'm done with setting up my other HP story, so we can go back to the original release schedule. To be honest, I feel like I was bullied by two people to continue updating this story at the original pace (kidding), but thanks for the support.
As for the poll, I didn't expect the result to be so close, so I guess I'll do a mixture of 2nd and 3rd choices. How it turns out? For that, you will have to wait.
