章 7: New life
The castle stood tall, its walls crafted from black marble and adorned with a coat of deep black paint. The ceilings shimmered with the elegance of diamonds and gold, their lustrous sheen blending seamlessly into the darkness.
"Bring the hot water!" the head maid barked out orders, her voice echoing through the corridors of the castle. "And fetch some extra clothes, hurry!"
The maids scurried about in a frenzy, darting from one room to another as they gathered the necessary items, their footsteps echoing against the marble floors.
Amidst the chaos, a piercing scream of agony echoed from one of the rooms, followed by the soft cries of a newborn baby.
"My lord, my lord, congratulations!" the head maid exclaimed, bursting out of the room with a radiant smile. "My lady has given birth to twins!"
The lord of the manor, with his striking black hair and crimson eyes, paced anxiously outside the room, his heart pounding with anticipation and worry.
"What about Elina? Is she alright?" he inquired, his voice laced with concern.
"The lady is well, my lord. She is resting peacefully in her chambers after the ordeal," the head maid reassured him, her own relief evident in her expression.
Tears of joy welled up in the lord's eyes as a smile spread across his face. "Thank the heavens," he murmured, overwhelmed with gratitude.
"Daddy, Daddy, is Mama alright?" a little girl with ponytailed black hair and golden dragon eyes, clutched a teddy bear in one hand, as she ran towards her father, followed closely by two maids.
Scooping his daughter into his arms, the lord kissed her forehead tenderly. "Mama is fine, Athena, but she's resting now. You can see her and your new siblings tomorrow morning," he gently explained, soothing her worries.
Reluctantly, Athena allowed herself to be led back to her room, her father tucking her in with loving care before slipping out quietly, leaving the castle to bask in the peaceful stillness of the night.
