章 24: He wants to get back together
It's been a week since the incident and although Esmeralda and Seraphina were perfectly fine already, Lucian was yet to step.out of his room. "Is he okay?" Seraphina asked with worry in her tone as she cooked in the kitchen with Esmeralda who was just assisting by tasting her food.
(Typical little sister ways, hehe)
"I'm worried also." Esmeralda said, looking up towards his room. "I haven't seen him isolate himself for months and everytime he does that, he doesn't come out great until a month after. He looks like a starved vampire."
That made Seraphina even more worried. She knew he was mad at himself but he shouldn't be doing this at all. She wondered why she worried about him so much and wanted to go up there eto check up on him but she knew everyone in the house wouldn't let her.
"Nice cooking cousin." One of the guys who worked for Lucian said as he picked one of the plates Esmeralda had served herself for tasting.
"I didn't make it…"
"I was talking to Seraphina not you. You can't even cook yo save your life." He laughed and Esmeralda pounced on him, wrapping her arm around his neck and her legs around his waist from behind, choking him. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Seraphina tried her best not to laugh but she couldn't help it. "Hey, I'm Xing, Lucian's cousin." He introduced himself.
"You're a royal blood?" Seraphina asked him and he shook his head negatively.
"The royal bloods are from my father's side of the family, the Van del Turo. He's my cousin from mum's side so he isn't a royal blood." Esmeralda explained.
"But, how does anyone married into the royal blood become one?" Seraphina asked.
"Blood exchange. Like now, if Lucian gets married to you, he drinks your blood and you take his, like an oath but it's like mixing the royal blood with yours." Esmeralda explained and Seraphina looked at her in shock. Not in shock because of her explanation but her thinking she's getting married to Lucian to use it as an example.
"I would say, you and Lucian are compatible. He doesn't need a vicious bride or they will keep on producing a generation of ruthless kids and Lucian alone is enough for now." Xing said as he picked up another piece of meat from Seraphina's cooking.
"He is just my boss and he is being super nice because of my ex boyfriend trying to get on my nerves. I don't even see him that way. He's not my type" Seraphina said and everyone stared at her like she mercilessly kicked a puppy. "What?"
"We need to start planning the wedding." Esmeralda squealed as she rushed over to her phone, acting like she was calling someone.
Naomi who was walking into the kitchen looked shocked and so was Cullen who heard what she said as he was coming down the stairs. "Why?" Seraphina asked.
"Lucian is a ladies magnet. Everyone wants a piece of my brother but is too scared to go near him but it's obvious in their expression. But you said he is not your type." Esmeralda squealed.
"You need to be imprisoned." Naomi said and Cullen nudged her. "No, really. Lucian is so much better than my brother here and if there was another person like him, I would totally be head over heels for him."
"I totally agree." Esmeralda said and Xing still looked stunned.
"Looks like Lucian's got a lot of work to do." Xing said and they all burst out laughing. "But are you serious right now, Seraphina?"
"I'm serious." Seraphina said with a small smile. "I just see him as my boss and me as his worker, nothing more." And as she said that, the scene of both of them the other day in bed flashed across her memory and a blush rose up her cheeks.
"Thay doesn't look like a boss and secretary relationship." Esmeralda teased. "It's the perfect office romance. Don't you think, Gabriel?"
Gabriel who was busy on his computer just hummed gently. "Such a vibe killer." Esmeralda rolled her eyes.
"But that doesn't stop you from crushing on him does it?" Xing whispered to her so others won't hear and she glared at him. "Okay, okay okay. Don't bite me off okay?"
"Seraphina, looks like you're having a call." Naomi said, gesturing at the phone laying on the kitchen island.
Surprisingly, Lucian asked Gabriel to give her a new phone with all her details intact on it. She didn't know what they did with the old one bit she was curious. "Jenna?" Seraphina said as she answered the call.
"Where have you been, Seraphina. Asher has been looking for you for days now, disturbing the hell out of me." Jenna said with frustration in her tone.
"Why does he want to see me?" Seraphina asked.
"Seems like, he wants to get back together."
