I was listening with rapt attention as Briar explained his life with my father. What it was that he knew about the evil bastard and his heinous crimes.

"I spent the beginning of my career helping people. Wolves and humans alike. Yuri loved his people, all of them. And that meant that he cared about the humans as much as the wolves. He wanted everyone to prosper and flourish under his reign. I admired that and used that as the foundation of my research. I knew that the withering flu and other diseases affected the wolves and the humans. And that the Flourish potion was a cure for both species. I shared the potion and did research on the humans at the same time. I had a good rapport with them. They trusted me and called upon me when they needed something. That all changed when your father took the throne though."
