章 41: Don't Take Her

***BRIAR'S POV***

"That is enough. She is mine. Do not touch my property." Boberre gripped Addie's arm and yanked her away from me so hard that I knew it had to have hurt her. "Come, girl. We are leaving."

"I don't have my things. I need my stuff. I need clothes." I could tell that Addie was doing anything to stop them from taking her away.

"It's too late. Take these."

I watched then as Boberre took all the presents that Addie had been given for her birthday and shoved them into a bag. Was that seriously all he was going to take for her? He wasn't going to get any other clothes? No night clothes? No undergarments? Nothing? How cruel could he have been?

"Stay strong, Addie. You're a smart girl." I called after her as Boberre dragged her away from the party and toward the edge of town. I could see there were several horses and a carriage that was waiting for them.
