章 23: Chapter 23: A New Friend
Florence and Joyce came down from where they were and went to where Obed was eaten. Florence saw the dead and the cloth Obed wore. She looked at the cloth and turned to the alien and from the look of things, she was in a sad mood and a bad mood. Florence then took her weapon and slashed it across the dead alien's neck.
Florence wept bitterly and said, he was right, Obed was right all along. Joyce didn't want to ask Florence what she meant at this time so she hugged Florence. Soon, tears began to flow from both girls' tears. As they were crying, Michael who had run past Obed, Florence, and Joyce came back looking for them. As he was wandering around the planet, he found Florence and Joyce hugging each other close to the dead alien. When Michael got near, Florence pulled out her weapon aiming at Michael. "If you dare come close to me, I'll kill you," she said whiles weeping. Michael didn't understand what Florence was doing. As he got a little closer, Joyce pushed Michael back to avoid getting hurt by the sad and angry Florence.
Michael then asked Joyce why they were all weeping and that were was Obed. Joyce took the ripped cloth from Joyce and handed it over to Michael. Michael was bamboozled when he saw the ripped cloth. That's Obed's cloth, said, Michael. Is he dead? Joyce then bowed her head and Michael understood what it meant.
Michael came closer to Florence and held her hand to apologize to her for not saving their pal. "No, you must not apologize to me," said Florence. This is all my fault. What do you mean your fault, said Michael. Obed told me he had this exact scene in his dream at school. He told me I'll get caught by the alien and killed, which indeed I got caught but sacrificed his life for me so that I wouldn't die. I should have informed you guys. As she said this, she went bitterly and Joyce and Michael had to pamper her even though Joyce was still sobbing.
Then there came Sir Ben, Nate, and Miss Pearl. Thank goodness you guys are alive said, Sir Nate. As she saw then, Miss Pearl knew one student was missing and that was Obed. Miss Pearl then asked Florence, Joyce, and Michael if they had seen any sign of Obed. Florence then broke her silence and told Miss Pearl that Obed had been killed and she showed Miss Pearl Obed's ripped shirt. Miss Pearl was in disbelief and showed it to Sir Nate and Sir Ben.
One of our students is dead and he has an Uncle. "What are we going to do," asked Miss Pearl? Miss Pearl was Obed's favorite student in the class. She then summoned Michael, Joyce, and Florence to their camp where they would be staying for the night. As they were going, Joyce asked Miss Pearl a question. "Won't we be attacked again because we have lost a hero in our group?" "I don't know sweetie," replied Miss Pearl and by the way, "who killed the alien," she asked. "Obed,"said Florence. "So you are saying Obed killed this alien," asked Miss Pearl. Florence nodded her head in a yes response. "How is that even possible?," asked Sir Ben. "He is a level one user and he says he has no ability so how can he kill this alien," Miss Pearl said.
Meanwhile, in the plant stomach, Obed had been in there for almost an hour and was getting impatient. Soon the flower began to regurgitate and spat Obed out. Obed began to flee to where the student's camp was but realized he was in a different location. Obed was now becoming scared and now the sky was dark. The stars were shown brightly across the sky and the moon was shown. Because of the moon's light, it gave Obed some eyesight to see.
Eventually, Obed ended up in an old house which was broken into pieces. "Humans used to live here before the war with the aliens," said Obed. Eventually, Obed decide to have some rest but was still bleeding. He then went into his system to get him healed.

Obed remembered receiving some rewards after killing the alien so he decided to check them out.
Obed gained for expanding health and received a new ability. When he checked the ability, it read;
this ability when used with your electric power can cause the foundation of buildings to collapse. So it must be used in emergencies.
Obed smiled as he read this. He also received a reward that could make him see well in the night. "How possible," Obed said. Then Obed's eyes were now glowing and some forms of electricity were shown in his eyes. Wow!! I can see in the dark. He then went back to his system and a message appeared. it read, a new friend. A new friend said how do you expect to get a new friend. After Obed finished his sentence, both hands shot out electricity in the air and there came out an electric flying creature.
Obed was shocked to see him bring out a flying creature to become his friend. Then, he received a notification which read;
Got a new friend, name it.
Obed began to think of a name and decided to call it Wood. As soon as he name his pet, it responded, yes Master.
