"Hero!"
"Hero may I have a word"
"It's a pleasure to meet you"
"Hero it's an honor"
"We've met before at lady Monica's birthday celebration"
My eye was twitching uncontrollably as nobles from all reaches of the kingdom surrounded me the second I entered the grand hall. Their words were overlapping into a mess of snobby and fake tones, Of course there were the few that looked at me with worship that genuinely made me very unsettled.
'I should have stayed in the garden' i sighed while putting on a polite smile and giving a few shallow greetings.
Scarlett had went back to her escorting duties after a few dozen minutes of kissed, And light groping. Unfortunately she wouldn't allow me to do anything further since we were at the castle, But my mood was sky high after being given the honer to be able to call Scarlett has my fiancé and future wife.
"Yes I remember your daughter" I smiled at an older gentleman with curly hair while inching away with every second.
"If you'll excuse me my fiancé if waiting" I spoke as I disappeared into the crowded once more letting out a deep breath.
One of the pluses of being an engaged man was that I always had an excuse to reject those who were trying to marry off their daughters. I couldn't even imagine how helpless I would be if Ella wasn't my fiancé. Which is why I thought it was best to go find her and show my appreciation, As well as find Nessa and my older sisters
My eyes scanned the crowd in search of either of the three of my targets and eventually I found Evelyn. She was standing near the refreshments table stuffing pastries into her mouth in a very unlady like manner. I felt my lips twitch with a mixture of amusement and helplessness yet before I could walk over I heard a voice not too far from me.
"Princess you're too funny!"
I turned my head looking toward a more secluded part of the grand hall near one of the giant pillars and I let out a sigh of relief when I saw Nessa. But I could only furrow my eyebrows when I noticed the look of discomfort that was written on her face, That was when I noticed that she was basically backed into a corner by a small group.
The group consisted of three young men who looked to be in their late teens, A couple years younger than both me and Nessa. It was thanks to Alexia saying that the hero should be knowledgeable about noble affairs did i manage to recognize the them.
"Charles Grimwell wasn't it?" I muttered staring at one of them who had dirty blond hair that fell into his face.
I didn't know much about him other than the fact he was the son of a count on the edge of the border. The Grimwell family wasn't wealthy but they held a small amount of influence due to the fact that they lived close to the beast kin's territory, As for Charles all I knew about him was the he frequented the brothels in the red light distract.
The second was a young man who had black hair and wore a pair of glasses, His eyebrows were sharp to the point it looked like he was always looking down on those around. Finally was a nervous looking guy who was shorter then the other two and constantly looked on edge, I swore I could see him trembling even from this distance.
"Julian and Mason"
I wasn't completely confident but I was pretty sure the former was the son of wealthy merchant who had bought the title of baron while the latter was the son of a marquee. It was kind of amusing how the nervous one was actually the highest ranking out of the three.
"T~thank you…" Nessa's indifference mask she had tried to copy from Ella was faltering with discomfort shining through.
