Three days had passed since Rune, and the rest left Cecelia's shop. They were deep into what Cecelia had called Snatcher territory, and Fleur and Luna were both crouched down to get a closer look at one of the creatures in question. It had floated up to the surface just below the barrier path they were using to get to their destination.
"Ew, look at it..."
"gross..."
Deep Snatcher. That was the full name of the monster they were looking at. It was a grotesque creature that looked like a cross between an insect and a sea horse. It's head seemed to be on backwards while it's eyes were still forward-facing. Jutting out from its torso were three sets of spindly legs like those you would see on a centipede.
Fleur and Luna both frowned in disgust after getting a closer look. Neither one of them was a big fan of bugs. The girls were not afraid of them, but the sight of giant bug-like monsters still sent shivers down their spines.
I was not expecting to do another chapter like this so soon, but often times when I am writing, the direction I intend to take things changes. The last Ecology chapter seemed to be well received, at least from the few comments I got. But I'm still not sure how much you guys actually like these kinds of chapters that delve deeper into the habits and lore of the various creatures. Oh, before I forget, Deep Snatchers are artificial. Just for anyone who is wondering. You can tell which creatures are artifical from whether or not they are hybrids of two different species.
