Prologue: Art Brings Friendship
-----------
In a nice suburban neighborhood, surrounded by lush greenery and nature, lived a quiet, introverted 8-10-year-old kid.
Behind the curtains of his room window, he often found himself gazing longingly at the bustling world outside, where other children joyfully engaged in various fun-filled games and adventures. However, for him the outside world seemed like a distant dream, forever unattainable.
With a heavy heart, he would watch groups of children playing hide-and-seek in the park across the street, their laughter ringing in the breeze like distant bells of merriment.
He observed their cheerful and happy faces, in stark contrast to his own. They all seemed to be part of a harmonious symphony of friendship, while he was an unkempt note lost in the melody.
His room became the only place of comfort and where he could feel truly accepted and comfortable. The only form of comfort and familiarity were his strange-looking and deformed drawings, hanging everywhere in the room, but they could not fill the void around him.
He often wondered if he was the one who was different, unable to open the door that would lead him to have many friends to laugh and joke with.
But it seemed to be just an unrealistic dream....
And so, at the end of each day, when the sun dipped below the horizon, the young man closed the curtains, embracing the tender hopelessness of his room.
Yet amid the melancholy, a small glimmer of hope lingered in the boy's heart. He clung to the conviction that somewhere, in the midst of the sea of deep space, there must be a place for him, too.
Perhaps, just beyond his sight, there was someone who wished to be his friend? Or at least would have wanted to play with him at least once? ....
And so the child fell asleep, covered by his warm blankets. Asking for a simple wish from the depths of his pristine and innocent heart.
"I want a friend..."
[Interlude]
The kid woke up looking visibly confused, observing his surroundings completely consumed by darkness.
But unlike many other children who would see such a spectacle and be frightened, he could not help but assume a cute expression, which turned every second into an excited and curious one, as if he were on a secret treasure hunt with his family.
So the kid began to walk forward as if something was drawing him into this space.
Until he arrived at what seemed to be his destination....
A large empty room itself with two chairs facing each other in the middle. The little kid sat there for an unspecified amount of time, lost in the beauty of this world.
He didn't know why but he felt a sense that he had to wait for something-I didn't know what-but the little kid was too curious so he did this.
In all of this the little kid did not understand the time he had spent here, with no sun or clock around, his perception of time was completely diverted.
After that, the little boy continued to stare at the darkness around him completely fascinated without him realizing that many eyes were watching him....
After what seemed like an eternity "that probably was" something new happened. More precisely, someone else was present in the room next to him.
An empty entity with no facial features whatsoever, almost as if someone dropped a mannequin made in half, completely forgetting to add any human features beyond its general humanoid form.
But for the kid, the being in front of him seem to be fun?
The being sat in front of the little kid, and did not seem to answer any of the innocent questions, never moving in the slightest....
He was right there. But he didn't seem intent on giving him an answer? Didn't he want to be his friend either? Was he so hopeless at even making a friend?
So out of a silly sense of pride that had grown up in him he had decided that he would become his friend, and with this goal in mind he began to talk to the being.
About how he liked to do and things he hated instead, his embarrassing moments, his happy moments, basically everything that characterized him as a human being.
But at one point during the kid's discussion. The sound of a creaking chair reached his ears. And at that moment the little boy raised his head only to remain happy, since he did not expect such a development.
He held his breath as he watched the being advance, both hands stretched forward, handing him something he had longed for to continue making his room more beautiful.
"A paintbrush and a drawing pad."
The kid took the drawing pad and brush from her hands and could only look at the contents with obvious excitement written on his face.
He looked up at the featureless being, his heart pounding with excitement and curiosity. With a glimmer of hope in his eyes, the child asked, "Are you giving this to me? Can I keep it?
The being nodded in response, its form remaining still and unmoving.
In the drawing pad there were many drawings of monsters, beasts of all kinds, and even people or at least humanoid creatures that he could not quite understand.
Some of them were not even creatures, for there was a drawing of the Sun, stars and even a giant deformed monster as he draw them.
But the kid ignored all these fantastic drawings, and it was only when he reached a completely white page that he stopped from continuing to scroll through the contents.
The boy's excitement grew as he looked at the paintbrush and drawing pad in his hands. He could not believe that he had the opportunity to draw the enigmatic being sitting before him.
With trembling hands and a heart full of wonder, and he began to draw what he most desired at that moment.
As the child drew, he struggled to replicate the featureless form of the being. His lines wavered, and the proportions became distorted, unintentionally giving it a creepy and deformed appearance.
But he was not deterred by his lack of skill; in fact, in this way it became even more fun for him, determined to capture the essence of being as he saw it.
When he finally finished, he held up the drawing with a mix of pride and embarrassment. The once featureless being now looked like a strange, unsettling figure on the drawing pad.
He turned to the being, offering the drawing with hesitant anticipation. The being, with its inexplicable presence, took the drawing gently from the kid's hands. It examined the artwork, its faceless form seemingly appreciating the effort put into it. The child watched nervously, unsure of what the being's reaction might be.
Then, unexpectedly, the being reached out and gently stroked the child's head. Although it lacked facial features, the gesture conveyed warmth and approval.
It was as if the being understood the kid's intentions behind the drawing, appreciating the sincerity of his attempt to capture its essence.
As the kid and the being continued their silent interaction, the darkness seemed to embrace them, protecting this moment.
Meanwhile, in the vast darkness, hundreds of eyes watched the scene unfold, but the kid was unaware of their presence. These enigmatic observers seemed to observe quietly, their intentions remaining a mystery.
It was a connection that went beyond what could be expressed through normal means of communication.
They had connected on a deeper level, where unspoken emotions and understanding prevailed. The kid felt a sense of comfort and acceptance in this space, a feeling he had seldom experienced in the outside world.
Since that day, the kid had found a friend who would never leave him....
