章 71: The Dark Side

It was dark as the moonless night out there. But it was fine the way it was.

Our eyes didn't need light to see the world around us. But my ears couldn't handle the silence anymore— from either one of them.

"When will she wake up?"

"…It is a self-induced coma."

I kept my mouth shut because the term was self-explanatory. We've been standing shoulder to shoulder for around an hour now and it was the first time we spoke.

The sight of a puppet version of Elizabeth was too much. She was in my arms floating back to the mansion right after that. It was easy locating her room. All I had to do was to follow the invisible jasmine.

It took him a few more minutes to arrive after we did, he took one look at me then he focused on the girl that was lying in her bed— He wore a patient look as he gazed at her with eyes that were so much like mine. Once more, I found myself mirroring it.

Arthur was a patient vampire.
