Declan on the other hand sat patiently, thinking of where her story would lead to. He was afraid a word from him might dissuade her from telling him whatever she had in him, and he knew she was stalling for time, as she was avoiding the main topic of her tale.

Mia closed her eyes, "Then one day I realized it was all a lie; good things don't come to people who wait patiently.  You have to fight for it. If I could go back in time, I would have turned my story around."

She opened her eyes again, but it never stopped to gaze at him.  It moved around the office, and her hand twitched like she was holding back from biting it.  "I have always known my father's intention towards me wasn't pure.  Sometimes if I was walking, he would suddenly touch my behind.  Sometimes he was so engrossed in touching me that he forgets about my mother's presence and run his hand up my leg." She shudders at the image, as it was as fresh as yesterday in her head.
