When Iris Mitchell saw her return, she said, "I thought you had left."

Lyra Smith didn't look at Iris: "I came to attend the auction. The auction hasn't started yet. Why would I leave?"

"Oh, by the sound of you, are you confident in bidding on a couple of items?" Iris deliberately said so, knowing that Lyra had no money and she wouldn't be able to afford any of the items up for bid later.

Apparently, just as she thought, Lyra was here today to snag a rich man. The time she took off earlier must be to lock on a target...

"You come back with a gloomy face. Have you mingled around and yet weren't fancied?"

Lyra was baffled: "What are you talking about?"

Iris chuckled, saying no more. She waved her hand slightly, but no servant saw her gesture.
