Maxixe tossed and turned in bed, it was lonely sleeping on his own again without Fiona by his side.

Still after what he said last night he couldn't blame her for wanting some space and sleeping in a separate room that night.

It didn't matter that her bedroom was adjoined to his and he could just easily push the sliding door and be in her room.

But what would that accomplish when she was still angry at him for his earlier declaration.

Thinking that with his thoughts in such disarray the probability that he wouldn't be getting much sleep for the remainder of the night weighed heavily on his mind.

Thanks to whatever was in that foul smelling concoction that Kaoma rubbed on his wound he felt the first relief from pain he felt in days.

The fever was still there though but they all felt that in a few days it would subside as well.
