章 27: A matter of pride

"What's the matter?" asked Aiden gently. 

Her eyes bulged out from their socket, her mouth formed the simple word "him," but she couldn't bring herself to say it out loud. 

Kaoma was so relieved to see Aiden as her bladder felt full.

Especially since she didn't want to ask Maxixe to take her to the privy. 

It was a matter of pride to not beg Maxixe for something simple like relieving oneself.

As far as Kaoma was concerned there would be no point asking Maxixe for anything.

With Aiden, Kaoma felt like she could plead her case and he would actually listen.

He looked almost angelic with his silver locks and sinewy good looks in comparison to Maxixe with his bulkiness and brooding dark looks.

His green eyes were bright and blazing with emotion.

Not to mention Maxixe's harsh words that slashed like a knife when he was at her throat.
