"Excuse me, does this peasant speak for you?" The white suit man completely ignored Joao and looked at Monke.
"I'm not talking to you until you tell me who you are?" Monke dropped to the ground and leaned against the door frame. Po leaned on the opposite side but he remained standing and tucked his hands in his pockets.
Whispers from the intruders were a tiny bit audible. Some of them were taunts to Joao but they were very careful not attract too much attention. They huddled in together and one by one after huge time intervals they would go from the other side of the room to the other towards the elevator.
Monke rested his elbow on his knee and his cheek on his fist, he looked away from the guy in the white suit and started humming. Po joined moving his head to the rhythm while tapping his foot on the floor.
"QUIET!" After almost 1 minute of nothing but the now turned beatboxing of Monke and Po the white suit guy yelled. "I am not giving you a single cent, since you dared to threaten me I'll just have to put and extra ten thousand for your troubles." He said as he tried to press Joao's chest.
His hand was of course slapped away which was then he noticed that Joao was wearing black leather gloves. They were perfectly disguised by his black coat which was a bit longer than the norm. The closer he looked and examined Joao the more he realized that he wasn't like any of the other boys.
His face wasn't as muscular and well defined. Rather it was soft and looked like he hasn't aged since the age of 10. It was the same case with his body, he was skinny but unlike Po and Monke who's chests and shoulders stuck out, he was completely flat.
Finally, Joao's pierced his ears. It wasn't out of the ordinary to see gang members with earings but theirs were used as a sign of strength. The way Joao looked, with his extremely light complexion and soft appearance, it was almost as if he worse his for beauty.
Taking all of this into account, the guy in the white suit laughed. He laughed at how much he was being belittled, how can a scrawny looking person like Joao even be allowed to stand straight in front of him.
"You laughter annoys..." Before Joao could finish his statement, the guy in the white suit tossed him out of the way. It was so unexpected Joao didn't put his guard up and ended up falling on his bum. "Huh," was all he could say with a confused face.
The guy in the white suit walked over to Monke and towered over him. "I can't believe that you'd insult me that much because you don't know my name." The guy in the white suit said with a giggle in his voice.
Monke ignored him and continued humming while staring at the stair in the opposite direction. Not knowing how to react to this the guy in the white suit looked at Po who smiled back. The smile he got from Po made him step a little to the left as his skin got filled with goosebumps.
"My name is Tumi, never forget it because from now on you answer to me."
Monke's humming got louder and Po laughed, Po stumbled forward almost falling face flat on the ground. "I am sorry, I just remembered something."
Tumi cringed again as he looked at Po, he glanced back at Monke and was still ignored. "HEAR ME OUT GODDAMIT!" He raised the iron rod and screamed. All the furry in his eyes was quickly replaced with confusion.
He struggled again to bring the rod down on Monke but it remained in place. Naturally, he assumed that someone was holding it and turned his gaze to check, he found Joao.
"These pants were designer so I'll have to add another 1 thousand to your bill If you don't want to continue assimilating more debt I suggest you stop harassing King and leave. Tumi." Joao held on to the rod with one hand and glared directly into his prey's eyeballs.
Tumi let go of his weapon and glared at his men. "What the hell are you waiting for, a starting pistol? Teach these fuckers a lesson." He screamed at his boys who got riled up only for a second before Po stood in front of them.
Using the rod in his hand, Joao smacked Tumi at the back of the knee causing him to kneel. He brought back the weapon and used it to strike them as hard as he could and the neck with a much lighter force.
"You might want to stop there," Joao said as he looked at the rest of Tumi's gang.
The gang looked to their leader and he couldn't look back, in fact, he wasn't even talking. They had expected him to continue taunting Monke and his two acquaintances. Instead, Tumi was only able to keep his mouth open to try and breath properly other than that, he was completely frozen in place.
"YO! I can't believe that that still works." Giggled Po as he turned his back on the gang to face Tumi and Joao.
"Bloody bastard, do you want to lose your tongue. Of course, my skills still work, why wouldn't they?" Joao said while swinging the iron rod at Po.
"I was wondering the exact same thing myself? A few days ago I heard a rumor that Juke was out of his game. But I guess that word on the street can not always be trusted." A voice came from behind Joao and Po's eyes widened as he burst out laughing.
"So it's true that you're trying to get people to call you Juke. What the hell does that even mean."
"I... will... murder... you!" Joao said to Po while thrusting the iron rod back and forth even more furiously than before.
The boy behind Joao chuckled and Joao shifted his gaze back to him.
"Oh my, for a second there I thought that I was going to be given the same ghost treatment as Tumi. Since you decided to acknowledge my existence I would introduce..."
"Cut the crap and get to it already." Joao interrupted.
The guy gave a completely distraught look before a smile returned to his face. "As I was saying, because of you all acknowledging my presence I would like to introduce myself. My name Kgosi, but you all may call me Copper. As Tumi should've already told you, we want to expand into this area, so in order for us to coexist you need to pay tithes to us."
Copper was wearing school grey school pants like Joao and the others, on top he had a blue shirt and white blazer. The shirt wasn't buttoned all the way to the top nor did he have a tie. He was much more muscular than everyone here and was even taller too. Under his left eye right next to his nose was a scar reaching to the side of his shiny lips. His eyes were thin but his brown pupils still showed, his dark complexion didn't sit well with Joao especially when he smiled exposing his golden canines.
As soon as he finished talking the other guys got louder and seemed to cheer up. Po turned to face the ones behind him. This time they didn't look down or shy away from the guy. They boldly faced him and even started a smile off with him.
A few insults were thrown from they two opposing sides sandwiching Joao and his allies. Even outnumbered with the enemy gaining motivation, Monke still looked out of it and Joao was more concerned with adding up the money owed.
"Coal, behind you I see three people holding baskets and clay pots. Those things aren't cheap and they soil easy, put them away." Joao said.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
"Yeah, how dare you speak to Copper like that?"
"You're outnumbered but you're still arrogant, clearly you want to die."
The new part of the crew that had just arrived made their voices heard as they openly attacked Joao with their words. The ones in front of Po could only murmur to themself.
"Just as my friends here said, don't act arrogant in front of us. We just want money and we will let all of you live in peace. I'm pretty sure that you're aware of the consequences of standing in the way of the gang." Copper smile and spread his arms apart and took a few steps towards Joao. His friends followed and the ones who were holding the items Joao was concerned about put them down.
'You will learn today." They continued with their taunts.
"I am sorry." Joao said as he shifted his whole body to face Copper and his friends.
"I see that you've..."
