章 8: Enrolling in school
After thinking about it for a few days I decided to enroll in the same high school as Haley did in Modern Family.
I remembered she went to Walden Academy and after one quick search on Google, I already found the necessary conditions to contact them.
I called them and impersonated my parents. After that, I only needed to send them a few letters and my personal data and that was it.
I was an official member of the school.
Some may ask why not Alex's or Luke's school. Well I would be in the same class as her at my age. I could forge another identity easily, but I looked way too old to be their age.
Even though Haley was 1 year older than me we both would be in the same year as she was born in December.
It was currently weekend.
I called Michelle and told her that she didn't need to worry and I would stay in California for quite a while.
Soon it was Monday and I arrived at school.
I went to the secretary and received my schedule.
My first class was French. I introduced myself and went onto my seat. No one I knew in this class.
The lesson was boring as I wasn't interested in French. I already could speak many languages. A few due to templates and Spanish due to my family. My family was once a famous Spanish family, which is implied in my name. Alvarez.
The second lesson was English. Another boring lesson.
The third was Maths. There I finally saw someone I knew. It was Haley.
The seat beside her was free. Due to this, I sat down on the desk beside her.
It was the last seat on the window row.
"Hi, my name is Ethan. I am new here.", I introduced myself.
"Hi, Ethan my name is Haley.", she introduced herself.
It was another boring lesson due to this I just looked out of the window into the distance. It was relaxing. Soon I was sleeping.
"Ethan, Ethan, wake up quick!", I heard while feeling something poking me in my stomach.
I got up and saw the teacher Mrs. Robinson looking over.
She looked for another second but didn't say anything.
"Thanks Haley. You saved me."
"No problem Ethan, but you really shouldn't be sleeping in Mrs. Robinson's class. Her classes are so boring, but if she catches you sleeping you would easily get a few days of detention. She probably let you go due to you being new here.", Haley informed me with a serious expression.
In the last 5 minutes of the class, I just typed some things into my calculator.
Soon class was finished.
We went out of class together.
"Haley, do you know where Mr. Hanks's chemistry class is?", I asked her before she left.
"Yes, you too have Mr. Hanks now? Then we are in the same class.", she said with a smile.
"That is perfect", I replied with a happy smile.
"You can sit with me. There are quite a few empty places in chemistry, but most of them are weird or dumb. I am also not the smartest, but at least we know each other."
"Then that's an agreement Haley", I agreed with a smile.
I didn't really care that she didn't know chemistry as I already had a small bit of knowledge from the templates it was only level 3 and couldn't compare with a teacher, but it was still easily enough for high school.
We arrived shortly after at Mr. Hanks's class.
We sat down in pretty much the middle of the classroom.
The class started and it was really boring. We didn't do any experiments just learning about the molecules and atoms. We had a part where we needed to do some math and I happily put out my calculator.
I placed a 3x3 grid with fractional lines and taught Haley how to play Tic Tac Toe on the calculator with the Multiplicator and the 0.
We played the whole class. Chemistry was 2 classes long, but it didn't feel like long and classes were finished.
We soon went to lunch and I went to eat on a small table alone. Haley went to her friend. We weren't that close that we would eat together. I knew that.
Lunch was soon finished and the rest of the classes were really boring again.
All in All. I concluded that every class was boring, but you could do some things that would make them fun.
I soon drove home and relaxed there for the rest of the day.
