章 2: New Identity.
I slowly opened my eyes and what greeted me was the sight of a white ceiling along with bright yellow lights shining down on the room. I tried to sit up but I was assaulted with sharp pain throughout my head.
"Ugh! What happened?" I asked no one in particular, I was surprised though when I did get an answerback.
"I found you beaten up, bruised, and unconscious in an alleyway. You had a stab wound too! What happened Akumu!? Who did this!?" I heard a very familiar yet unfamiliar young feminine voice, I turned my head slowly and I was shocked by who I saw, but as I went to speak a whole bunch of memories that weren't mine assaulted my head once again causing a sharp pain to attack me.
"Argh!" I put my hand on my head and laid back down, not moving an inch and not even questioning the pain I feel near my heart.
'Damn... A stab wound near my heart? No wonder this body died, but why am I getting its memories? Shouldn't I basically become a new slate? Or just retain my own memories?'
"Akumu? What's wrong?" I once again heard that female voice, I turned towards her and showed a weak smile.
"A-ah, it's nothing Jiro, don't worry about it, I'm fine." She didn't seem to believe me as she still held that worried expression, but I didn't let that bother me.
I turned away and looked out the window that was on my left side, and fell into thought.
'So my name is Akumu Keshin, I'm 15 years old which means I'm about to start high school... I don't have a quirk? Or did the original owner not know how to use it? Ah... The doctor said that I didn't have a quirk but I know I do since I spun that wheel and got Aura Manipulation, so that should be my power right? Hmm, what else is there... An orphan wants to be a hero, Jiro was there as my friend since a young age... Haaah, so many things to go through...'
"Hey, Jiro? What day is it? And the time?" I asked the girl, my question startled her out of her own thoughts, she looked towards me and sighed while rubbing her forehead.
"You were out for a few hours and it's still Sunday, but it's like 9 p.m. so I'll be leaving soon, the doctor said you'll be able to go to school tomorrow but she said to be careful and not move around too much or they wound will unstitch itself and you'll start bleeding out again. The only reason you're even able to leave tomorrow is the fact that your ability to heal is quite fast... Speaking of which, is that your quirk? Is that why you thought you didn't have one?"
She had a point, but the healing isn't even that strong, it's just faster than a normal person.
"I don't think so, If my healing speed was a quirk it would be even worse than the known ones..." I said with a still voice, she nodded her head before looking into my eyes with seriousness.
"Who did this? And don't you dare try and say you don't know! Whoever it was tried to kill you Akumu!" She demanded, I was taken aback by her sudden shouting and demands but she had a point, apparently, the original owner of this body was a nice guy, and uncomfortably so, he was always nice to everyone, even the ones that bully him and beat him, he was probably going to continue to be nice to the group of kids who jumped and tried to kill him.
"Ah, well I truly don't know, they had masks and stuff on..." I said with an apologetic smile while rubbing the back of my head, Jiro's eyes never left mine as the room was left in silence.
It started getting mad awkward but I didn't retract my gaze, ain't no way was I about to lose a staring contest!
"Haaah, fine whatever, you probably wouldn't tell me even if they didn't have the masks." She said, while retracting her gaze.
'Haha, I won!' I thought with a proud smile but was soon pulled out of my celebratory feeling as the door swung open and a 30-year-old woman with black hair and blue eyes walked in.
She was beautiful.
But I instinctively smiled and waved.
"Hey, mom!"
