Veron pulled away from the kiss after a while and ran his tongue over his lower lip as he set his predatory eyes on her face.

If he hadn't known that she was restricted by her parents from being with a man, he would still have been able to tell she was doing this for the first time due to how overwhelmed she was and her lack of response.

But he was grateful for that. If she had responded even the tiniest bit, no matter how clumsily, he wouldn't be able to hold himself back or keep his desires under control. He would have pounced on her, and that wouldn't be good.

Letting go of her neck, he moved further away and settled back in his seat, threw his head back, and shut his eyes as he fought to suppress his overwhelming desires.

Karina, on the other hand, slowly opened her eyes when he pulled away. Her eyes met his for a second before she saw him retract to his seat. But her brain had not started functioning properly.
