章 18: Volume 2 Episode 12
The one-on-one combat competition continued even after the fight between Lin and Leslie, although there wasn't nearly any interest from the students in other fights compared to the Lin and Leslie one.
Miss Mirium Vance was still in charge of the competition, so she couldn't go with the medical team and Leslie. She kept refereeing other matches, but she clearly looked lost. After all the students had participated in the competition, she immediately finished the class with a small speech and left the building as soon as she completed her speech.
As she was leaving, she was confronted by the students of B - Class. Most of the students looked like they were angry. It was understandable, as they had come to win against the A - Class, but almost all of them lost. A student, who looked like the leader among the group, stepped in front and spoke to the teacher.
"Miss Vance, we're sorry but we cannot go along with your revolution plan or whatever you were planning. You told us that we were going to prove a point to the wealthy upper class students with the one-to-one fights. Well not only did most of us lose the fight, but Leslie, who's probably the most powerful out of all of us freshman, was beaten until he became unconscious. And all that took like thirty seconds. Each of our fights had an average of not even a full minute. And you want us to revolt against those people? You know, I think we definitely did prove a point, Miss Vance, just not the one you were expecting."
"Wait! It's not over yet, please kids, don't give up! The moment you give up…."
Miss Vance couldn't finish her sentence as all the students had left, leaving her standing alone on the roadside.

"It's going to be okay Miss Vance, they'll come back. They'll have to if they believe in change."
Leslie, who had woken up, was talking to Mirium who explained what had happened with the students. He still couldn't move around, and the doctors had told him that he had to rest for at least three months, meaning he wouldn't be able to participate in the school tournament. This realization made Mirium feel guilty, as it was her who advised him to take on Lin. If she could go back in time she would definitely stop him from agreeing with her. But sadly, she couldn't change what had already happened. If only she had known.
"Miss Mirium, don't beat yourself up, at the end of the day, it is my fault as well for underestimating my opponent. I thought that as long as I was above his level, I had the upper hand. Turns out I had been thinking wrong, and knowing that I can better myself. That's about the only thing I can do now. No need to think about the past. I won't dwell on the past, but learn in the present to be ready for my future."
Leslie looked outside his window. What he had believed in couldn't be destroyed simply by a loss. His dreams were more powerful than that. Mirium looked at the still optimistic Leslie and sighed. She wasn't sure of her decision to pick him as the leader of her revolution, but she was sure now. He was indeed a person who can fight the system. And when the system fights back, he gets back on his feet even stronger than before.

Lin's Apartment.
After school.
Lin came home as soon as possible. He had been trying to figure out what else he could create, what else he could use from his original world in this world, and what else he could try to finish off the Lindon Family.
'The Lindon Family is a serious threat to my creations. They're probably spying on me to figure out what my plans are. And the worst part is I can't do anything about it. So, what can I actually create that I can use against the Lindon family without them figuring it out?'
He thought about the various methods he could use to cut off the threat from the Lindons, but all of it came with a high risk of getting discovered.
'This is a headache. What to do?'
Suddenly, an idea struck him.
"Maybe.. just maybe I might be able to pull it off." Lin was considering the pros and cons of the idea, and whether it was worth it or not.
In the end he decided that it might be the best possible option there might be. After deciding on his plan, he ordered Charles to meet him. Charles quickly came over, asking what his request was.
"You have started collecting lab rats for the tests we promised Eric Lindon, right?"
"Yes, but wasn't that just a bluff to extend the deadline sir? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I had thought that was the case."
Lin sat on the couch, and calmly spoke, "Yes, that was indeed what I had in mind back then, but now I have found a suitable use for all the lab rats, or at least I hope."
A smile crept up on Lin's face, making him appear really scary. Charles, who saw this was curious as to what the young master's plan was, but didn't dare to ask. Ever since the incident with Richard and the betrayal, Lin had kept a distance from everyone, not even telling them what he was doing and asked everyone to not ask any questions regarding it. Charles, who was extremely loyal to the young master he was supposed to serve, obviously complied with his request, even though he had the urge to ask.
"Oh, and one more thing. Bring the potions that I have written on this piece of paper. Make sure that no one is following you as well. Wouldn't want any of those Lindon family mutts on your tail now, would we?" Lin gave a piece of paper which listed various potions to Charles.
"Don't worry young master, I'll be extra careful to make sure I'm not being followed by those people." Charles headed out, leaving Lin all alone in the apartment.
"Now system, you're still here aren't you?"
[Yes sir! I was afraid you had forgotten about me. What can I help you with?]
"Well you see, I'm going to need you to give me all the information you have on the Lindon family."
