Since the beginning, he hadn't intended to let Charlotte take part in any battles, even if she had some power. But now that he knew she was part Celestial, that alone was enough to attract trouble, especially from those with not-so-nice purposes, like a certain floating planet.

Charlotte, although she didn't actively pursue a career of fighting crime, always did everything she could to help others. She helped elderly people cross the road, climbed up to retrieve a pet cat for some kids, and even chased a purse snatcher once.

These actions had caused her trouble in the past, but she still held strong to her beliefs and stood firm in the face of all opinions on her actions. Jay often face-palmed at her impulsive and reckless actions, but he knew her too well to stop her, so he always kept an eye on her through the Shadow to protect her.

These were the reasons Jay found Charlotte attractive, something he didn't have—a sense of justice. He considered himself to be more of an anti-hero or mercenary. Although he could protect her, he couldn't always do so. Instead of letting it play out like in a cliché movie where the bad guys somehow captured or killed her because she was weak, he decided he might as well make her super strong and avoid all that cliché development.

He faced Charlotte and asked for her agreement. "Do you want one? If you don't want to be a hero, then I won't force you. I can always do my best to protect you."

Charlotte hesitated in front of the chance to gain a weapon of the gods, but hearing her boyfriend's words, she became more firm in her choice. "Yes!"

She didn't want to be someone who always stood behind Jay. While being protected by him warmed her heart, Charlotte didn't want to be a burden to him. No, she wanted to stand beside him as someone equal, not just a normal girl.

"Well okay then, do you want any customization? Like a pink blade or a heart-shaped handle? You may as well tell him; it's your weapon, so think carefully," Jay said, pointing at Odin as if he were some clerk taking orders. If the Dwarves had heard his words, they would have thrown him into their forge and burned him alive.

Charlotte thought carefully about what she wanted to use before telling Odin her choice. Hearing her wish, Odin nodded. "A shield strong as a wall to protect those important to you and a sword sharp as the mightiest blade to vanquish those who mean you harm, very well."

Smiling a bit awkwardly at his exaggerated description of her weapon of choice, Charlotte jokingly said to Jay, "Don't worry. If the bad guy comes, I'll protect you."

Amused at her words, Jay played along. "If the bad man comes," Jay responded while faking a scared face, "I'll bravely give out a high-pitched scream to distract him. I may even bravely faint, to give him a false sense of security. That will be your signal to strike."

"We will make a great team!"

"Just don't forget to stand in front of me the whole time."

Odin laughed at the pair of lovebirds joking around, reminding him of his young self and his beloved wife Frigga.

After a while of idle chatting with Odin, Jay and Charlotte were sent back to New Mexico, much to Fury and Coulson's confusion, thinking they were abducted by aliens. Jay was too lazy, so Charlotte had to explain that Odin had just used the bifrost to bring them to him to have a talk. The content of their conversation was kept secret from SHIELD, though, as Jay didn't want them to know Charlotte's true origin or that she would get a hold of a superweapon.

Such news would bring nothing but trouble. Fury would want her in the Avenger initiative, and the government would want her to hand the weapons over to them for national interest. It sounded like a pain in the ass, so he didn't want it to happen, at least not now.

So the logical decision Jay came to was to be mysterious. When Jay was immersed in how cool and mysterious he was, and Charlotte was rolling her eyes at his attitude, a voice spoke on Nick Fury's coms.

"Sir, someone has breached the perimeter. Do you want us to take him down, sir?"

Just when Fury wanted to tell the agent to capture and interrogate him, Jay stopped him.

"Director Fury, I think you should just let him in. Also, tell your men to prepare a room for our prince."

Fury was confused for a bit before realizing what he meant and quickly ordered his men.

Asgard.

In the Throne room.

Because of Odin's sleep, Loki took over the Eternal Spear, Gungnir, and sat on his dream throne. When he was enjoying the feeling of having his dream come true, a group of people who had rushed to Jotunheim together with Thor, the Warrior Three, and Lady Sif came in.

Their purpose was clear: the four of them wanted to see Odin and request him to end Thor's exile. But what they did not expect was that the person who sat on the throne was not Odin but a smiling Loki.

"Where is Odin?"

"Father has entered Odin's sleep, and Mother is worried that he will not be able to wake up again and is unwilling to leave Father's side," Loki's voice was choked with emotion, and he seemed to be greatly saddened by Odin's sleep.

Looking at the four people standing, Loki got up. "You have something urgent to tell me?"

Wearing a golden antler helmet, a green cape, and holding Gungnir, his expression also changed from sadness to haughty arrogance.

"Your Majesty!"

Sif and the three warriors looked at Loki above and hesitated for a moment, still worried about Thor's situation. Kneeling on one knee, placing a fist from the right hand on the left chest, they said out loud in unison.

"Your Majesty, we ask you to end Thor's exile."

Loki chuckled and slowly stepped down from the high throne. "We are at war with Jotunheim, and our people need to see that we are upholding the kingdom's policies to feel safe in these difficult times, and we must all unite and guard Asgard."

After hearing this, Sif wanted to stand up, but was pulled by Hogun, one of the three warriors. The calmer Hogun said to Loki, "Yes, that's right."

"Good, then stand down and wait for my order."

But an unwilling Volstagg still spoke up against him. "Excuse me, please, your Majesty, be generous and reconsider ..."

"Silence!" Loki shouted softly while knocking Gungnir against the floor, ending the conversation. The three departed angrily, and Sif stared at Loki for a while, but also left angrily.

This was Loki's plan. On the day of Thor's coronation, he had taken them with him to attack Jotunheim. Only Thor, who was supposed to be king, was exiled to Earth. Now, Loki had the power to end the exile, but not doing so really made Sif and the others feel sick. Loki looked at the departing people and sat back on the throne.

---

Was this Loki's scheme? The three ice giants at the time of the coronation were indeed put in by him. But it was because he thought that Thor was arrogant, reckless, dangerous, and not suitable for the king.

When he encouraged his brother to take revenge, he just wanted Thor to go against Odin's order and make him look bad in Odin's eyes. Who knew that his idiot of a brother, Thor, would attack Jotunheim directly with only six of them?

He felt like face-palming at his decision. When Thor was banished, Loki ran to the bifrost with tears in his eyes. He didn't think his plan would have such a serious consequence, but when he saw Odin throwing Mjolnir down, Loki understood everything.

All this time, it was said that they were equal to the throne, and Thor was chosen. He was disappointed but not angry. However, when he knew the truth about himself—not being the biological son of Odin but instead the son of Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants—the very same person that he had been taught as an Asgardian by Odin himself to hate was his biological father.

As he snarled at Odin, he shouted, "I am not your son! You are not my father!" But when Odin fell asleep, Loki, who knew his original identity, was still worried and called the guards in a hurry.

Loki had thought that the Ice Giants were evil, and as a result, he was the son of the King of the Ice Giants. Hurt, confused, and suspicious, he suspected that Odin had adopted him for another purpose. But the worship and love of his father that he had built up over thousands of years tortured him again. Loki was proud of his identity and humbled by his bloodline.

Therefore, his plan now was to lure Laufey in to assassinate Odin and then take the opportunity to kill Laufey with Gungnir. Then, he would use the powerful energy of the Rainbow Bridge to destroy the entire Jotunheim. Destroying a world and committing genocide was the action of a madman, and maybe he was one. But at the end of it all, Loki was just a naughty little brat who wanted his father's approval.
