章 98: It's Getting Deeper

Cassie lost count of how many hours she cried while locked in Theo Smith's embrace. It's strange how being in this mansion made her feel better as if all her fears were released during those few months. She found solace in his arms, pouring out all her fears through tears.

"Are you alright now?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

Cassie didn't respond, choosing to keep her gaze down, avoiding his eyes. She felt ashamed, and embarrassed for breaking down in front of him. And to make matters worse, he hugged her and tried to comfort her.

Damn it, Cassie! What have you done?

"Cassie-"

"I'm fine now, Theo. T-thank you," she quickly replied, getting up from his bed. She needs to leave. She needs to distance herself from him.

Damn it! This shouldn't have happened! I shouldn't have cried earlier! It's my fault! It's all my fault, so I shouldn't have shown this man my vulnerability!
