I got up the next morning, from the wierd sound I heard coming from the bathroom. I darted my gaze to Carie's part of the bed that looks empty. "Carie!" With my still sleepy eyes I stroded to the bathroom only to see her vomiting. I tried to pat her back using my left hand to hold my nose with my eyes tightly shut to avoid puking too.
We got out when she was done and I helped her lay on the bed. "I don't feel so well Zel!" Carie said softly as her Hazel eyes met mine. "I know!" I nodded at her words. Though I had no experience at what pregnancy feels like, but I knew few things about it. Everyone has little knowledge of everything.
"I'll ask Frank to get your breakfast in here, to avoid suspicions from mother. Later we could go to the hospital for check up and also to check the gender of the baby!" She smiled at me rubbing her hands around her still flat tummy.
"Baby, aunty Hazel is desperate to know your gender should we shock her?" Carie said smiling, and I smiled too. "Daddy would know about your existence soon. But in the mean time please don't punish mummy!" I said with a tiny voice and in the next moment we started crying, it's like I could feel everything she's feeling. This news was so unexpected and we were ready to accept the outcome of it. The sudden raps on the door distracted us and we cleaned our eyes quickly with the back of our palm, clearing our throat like nothing happened. "Come in!"
Frank and his maids walked into the room with new bedsheets in the tray. "Frank get Carie breakfast later!" I said to have the man bow. I had to leave Carie behind to the dinning room since mother wants me out for breakfast.
I got back into my room to get ready for breakfast and as usual the maids to dress me up where already waiting for me. "Good morning madam!" They all sang in unison when they noticed my presence. With a polite smile, "Good morning!" "I would be honored to be at your service, I'm Esther!" She introduced.
She seem like the most outspoken one among the rest. Esther's appearance was attractive, she was beautiful and I liked her at first glance. "I need to take my bath. You all can wait for me in the closet!" I said and walked into the bathroom.
With everything going on right now, all I needed was a long relaxing bath. I sank into the tub filled with different flower and soap. The scent was heavenly and I just closed my eyes inhaling the sweet smell from the different flowers. I drifted deep into my thoughts, I still wonder what our reunion would be like. Mother and Aunt Amelia. The explanation I'd have to give to aunt Amelia when I finally see her.
Even if mum can no longer remember who I am, it doesn't mean my aunt has the same issues too. I still wondered how Alex is able to keep her with him, knowing how stubborn my aunt is. I still remembered the story mum told me about her, how she left for eight years and came back shattered and broken, but until now she still hasn't told what happened to her.
She and mum always had issues about it. That was why they always fight when I was younger and then Dad would be the one to separate them. Seeing Aunt Amelia care for mum when she was I'll,was really shocking. Both sisters were bad at finding love.
I smiled at the thought of this at the same time sighed. How I've missed them so much, it's a good thing they're attending my wedding. I walked into the closet once I was done with bathing. The maids were already there to doll me up. Esther took the lead and did everything in time, I loved my looks.
I got dressed and got to the formal dining room. Grandma and Avery were already sitted. This was the perfect opportunity to try out what I saw the last time at the jewelry shop. I thought as a mischievous grin appeared on my face.
"Good morning grandma!" I walked up to her and kissed the back of her right hands, I could already see a small smile on her lips. What a wierd grandmother I have. "Yes Hazel!" She said as she continued with her food. For the first time since I got here, grand ma was not after me with her sharp tongue as usual. I was surprised, same as mother, we were both astonished.
I smiled at her pettiness, "Good morning mother!" I held her shoulders and she placed her hands on mine. "Morning my love!" She said with a smile, and I walked past her to my sit. "Avery!" "Hazel!" We greeted.
I started eating, "Hazel where's my baby, where's Carie!" Mother asked. No matter how much apart Carie's has been from her mother, she was still loved by her as the baby of the house. I just wonder what their reaction would be if they all found out about Carie's present condition.
As much as I love my sweet baby Carie, I still feel like she's wrong for deciding not to tell her family about this. They can't possibly reject their daughter cause she's pregnant. She should be grateful to have a family that loves and care for her, unlike mine where my father wants to kill me if I don't comply to his greedy request.
"She's not feeling too well, so she's in her room!" "But not to worry, I've asked Frank to get her food and drugs!" I gave an assuring smile to have her nod. Avery narrowed her eyes at me suspiciously, but I didn't flinch cause she has no idea on what's going on.
"I'd be going to the hospital today with mother for her usual checkup, you girls should go out and have fun!" I was more than glad mother changed the conversation quickly and I nodded. "We have the list of things we wanted to do, now we're here!" I smiled.
"Hope you've settled all issues with my grandson and don't overuse his credit card this time!" So she knew. I thought. Grandma is just too much, she made me over spend so I and Alex would have issues, and here I was thinking Berverly's act were too childish. I nodded at her words politely.
We were done with breakfast and I hurriedly went to Carie's room to know how she feels. I twisted the door knob only to see Avery already there with her sister. At least this witch has someone she cares for other than grandma, I left giving them their little sister time.
