While pinching her nose, Lu Jueyu took out twenty sacks of pig pellets from her space, and placed them in the corner of the pig pen. Then, she took out a few buckets of cooked feed for the piglets before going to water the vegetable garden. 

When she arrived at the backyard garden, she was surprised to see cantaloupes and watermelons already starting to bear fruit. Generally speaking, it takes at least 30 days after germination to bloom, and another 30-40 days to bear fruit. After it bears fruit, it takes another 30-40 days to mature.

She calculated and found that the cantaloupes and watermelons she planted were already bearing fruit in only about twenty days. Judging from the growth process, she might be able to find ripe fruits in ten days. It was only spring and she couldn't let anyone know about it. After thinking about it, she decided to cover the watermelons with hay. This way, no one will know about the fruits.
