章 105: A VISIT TO THE DUCHESS

Lucas and Magdalene left in a carriage to the duchesses place. It was obvious that Lucas was in a foul mood as he sat quietly with his eyes looking out. Magdalene Wondered if it was in her place to say something or not.

She just remained calm through out the journey afraid of provoking him the more. It seemed like even his own cousin feared him to have bowed to Lucas.

She wondered how powerful he was to have people so scared of him. Of course she was also very scared of him but she thought some of the stories were exaggerated. He wasn't a very wicked person. Deep inside his heart their was an emotion called compassion, if not, why will the Lord take her under his wings.

He protected her all the time even though he could be mean and harsh at times. What had he done to make people so scared of him.

Sensing her gaze Lucas turned to her and she quickly threw her head away.
