The seven of them began to place their orders, followed by the onset of casual conversation.
"Jiang Xiu, isn't your sister joining us tonight?" inquired Chen Jie, one of the four young women seated across from Jiang Xiu.
Jiang Xiu shook her head. "She's got other plans for the evening."
"Even on a Saturday night? She must lead quite the busy life," Chen Jie remarked, her surprise evident.
Chen Jie's roommate chimed in, "Why are you even surprised? Jiang Yue always seems to be on the go. I think it's to be expected from someone who aced the National College Entrance Examination."
Living in close proximity, they often observed Jiang Yue returning to her dorm as late as 8 or 9 PM on some nights.
"Well, it's not all about academics," Jiang Xiu admitted. "My sister has other responsibilities to juggle."
