章 96: A Meal with Ye Heng

"Mommy, you're going to work until it's late again?" Tang Xiao pouted when she heard her mother's words. She had hoped that her mother would come back early and accompany her. It had been a while since her mother had read her a book to sleep. 

"Xiao Xiao, I'm sorry," Tang Shi Yi apologized. "Mommy will make it up to you, alright?"

Tang Xiao stayed quiet for a brief second before she finally agreed. "Alright." She was still unhappy. However, the little girl understood that her mother was working hard to make money to raise her and her elder brother.

Although her surgery was a successful one, Tang Xiao still needed to go to the hospital for her follow-up check-ups. She still had to eat her medicine and Tang Xiao knew that they could be expensive. This was what her grandmother told her when she tried to avoid eating her medicine. 

"Xiao Xiao, tonight, you should sleep with your grandmother first," Tang Shi Yi said. "I'll see you in the morning, alright?"
