章 19: Wife, I'm sick!
In the office.
Tom laid on the sofa after lunchtime. He felt weak and dizzy. In order to continue working later, he decided to take a rest a first.
Sab notice that the room temperature was a bit low than usual. It seems that the air-con was turned off for quite a while now. She saw Tom laying on the sofa with one hand covering his eyes.
She tried to call his name, but the man did not move a bit. It seems he was already in deep sleep. She smiled happily. "I came okay, but you are sleeping. You cannot come to me and blame me, okay?" she whispered.
She stood-up and about to leave when someone grab her waist. Next thing happens, she was already laying on the sofa next to Tom.
Tom felt wife presence as soon as she entered the room and pretended sleeping. He wanted to know her reaction if she sees him in his unusual behaviour. But this little wife become happy and wanted to run away from him. It seems he needs to train her a little more.
He said in a weak voice. "Wifey, I'm sick."
Sab raised her head and locked eyes with him. He looked a little pale, his lips were dry, and his voice was a little husky. She even felt that his body was a bit warmer than usual.
"You're sick? Let's call for a doctor?" she was a little shock seeing the man in his weak state. She raised her little hand and touches his forehead and it was indeed hot. She wanted to get up, but she was stop.
"Hey, let me get-up. I'll get medicine for you."
"Wifey, hug me… Wifey kiss me…"
"…." Sab becomes speechless. This man acting all mighty in front of everyone but acting like a sick child in front of her.
She thought for a moment before replying. "Tom, I'm not sure if you forget but you promise not to force me in anything since our marriage is just a contractual."
Tom eyes softened. "I know, that's why I'm asking you to kiss me, not kissing you."
"….." Sab doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at his reasoning. He looks cute when he's not acting like a strict boss, she wanted to give him a big hug and kiss, but it felt awkward for her to take the initiative even if he requested it.
Seeing the little wife in dilemma in his request. He acted weaklier and pulled her closely to his body. "Wifey…kiss me hmmm??"
"…." Sab wanted to decline his request, however she felt uncomfortable inside for some reason. "Someone might come-in and see us like this. How will we explain it to them?"
Tom was unhappy on her answer. He pulled-out his phone from his pocket and dial a number. "Alvin, no one is allowed to enter my office until I say so," then he ended the call and looked at her weakly. "Kiss me now, okay?"
Sab eyes widened and can feel her face heated instantly as she heard his instruction. Is this man serious? Alvin and the other two secretaries were all aware that she was inside and giving a vague instruction like that can be easily misunderstood.
She asked a little annoyed. "What are you doing?"
"You were concern that someone might see us in an appropriate position, so I called Alvin to make sure it won't happen" he answered acting innocent.
Sab head felt spinning. She realized that she can never win over this man. He's very shameless and doesn't care on what others will be thinking. Before things get worst than this, she shifted her position and plan to give the man a quick kiss on his cheek, but the man also moves, hold her nape to meet her lips and deepen the kissed.
She was socked and tried to push the man now pinning her down. His kiss was aggressive and demanding pushing her no choice but to respond.
"…." I thought this man was sick. Why is he now kissing her like a perverted man?
Tom supposed to tease only the little wife, but her lips were like sweet candy that is very addicting, instead of letting go. His tongue playfully moves inside her little mouth savouring every corner of it.
He only let go to allow her to breath. He supposed to kiss her again after few seconds, but Sab immediately covered her mouth. "Hey, aren't you not done? she complained.
Tom lips curved seeing the unhappy red face of Sab. He then kissed her forehead and pulled her closely. "Let me sleep for a while then."
Sab did not bother to rebut and let herself hugged by him. He is still sick anyway. Once they get home, she must talk to this man. He needs to clarify their relationship. She must know if she was only being used or not.
She looked at Tom's beautiful face while sleeping. Who could hate this face? Who could complaint on his hugs and kisses? No woman in right mind can hate it. No woman could resist this kind of man.
In the office, they always say that this man is out of reach, being with him for more than a month makes her felt warm and protected. However, they are just together because of a contract.
She felt a little disappointed deep within. Nonetheless, she wants to clarify their relationship. His actions making her confused. Her eyes lit-up as she traces his beautiful face on air. When she felt he really his breathing become heavy, she mumbled in a very weak and low tone. "You can't confuse me okay? You must not break me." After few minutes, she fell asleep peacefully in his arms.
Outside, Alvin tried to concentrate working. Both Ana and Bing looked at him angrily after he stated the reason why Sab still not coming out Tom's office. They were standing in front of the door for a long time now, trying to listen what's going on inside though they knew that his office is sounds proof.
With clenching teeth, all they could do is to wait. They wanted to enter the room, but Alvin warned them already. If they enter or even knock on the door, they better pack all their things and leave the company.
Though Alvin insisted that Tom and Sab are discussing an important matter. None of them believe it since Sab was new and they knew that she was not skilled as them. Also, Alvin is not inside the office. What kind of important work matter they are discussing without his personal secretary for a long time?
Alvin silently cursing inside when he saw Vicky and other two girls walking towards his direction. The women admiring openly and secretly Tom are getting fiercer especially after the incident a while ago. He already received several calls and text message about it. He didn't see anything so he cannot make a comment and even if he did see it, he will not be able to make a comment either.
"I need these documents to be signed asap. If you can deliver this to Mr. Del Monte, we would appreciate it." Vicky said in a calm manner, but her face was obviously unhappy, looks angrier.
He took the files and put it on his desk. "I'll give to him later and bring it to you once it's done."
"No, this needs to be signed now," her tone was firm, and her eyes were red in annoyance. The man of his dream will be taken away by some girl who just appeared of nowhere and she cannot just stand without battle.
Alvin raised his brows, feeling annoyed. These women… "You can give it to him personally if you want. But don't tell me I did not warn you after," he looked at the girls around him in a provokingly tone.
The corner of his lips curved upward in a smirked as he looked at Vicky and the other girls. They all knew Tom's temper. If they were kicked out of the company because of one poor decision, all their efforts will be in vain. They all froze due to massive hesitation looking at the closed door.
Most of them give way to women who they felt were better than them, but Sab is no match to them. From educational background, wealth and family, they will be better than her. She looks pleasant to the eyes, but not pretty enough to match with tom.
Some male colleagues commented Sab's beauty simple but could still look pretty and elegant. This could be the best way to describe Sab. She wore almost the same clothing weekly, but it doesn't bother her even if they openly mock her one time which anger them more. She just smiled at them and said, she's saving money for her future and don't want to spend lavishly if she can't really afford it.
They thought Sab was mocking them for saying so though she just really gave an honest answer about her situation. After that, all of them continue to disregard her presence but use her do much physical tasks if there's an opportunity.
To get attention of management and create more opportunity for themselves, most of them spends fortune in order to look good and presentable. Working in XX company will give them opportunity to find a better man for themselves but as of now, the best candidate is Tom.
Everyone was eyeing to this bachelor, not only because he belongs to an influential and wealthy family, but the man was stunningly gorgeous. His slightly dark complexion makes him more masculine, his tall with well-built muscular body. Who would not want this kind of man in their life?
In anger manner, one by one the girls who just came in turned around to leave. But before they left, they all gave a sour expression at Alvin. Ana and Vicky unhappily returned as well to their respective seats. In red eyes, they all gave in for now but made a promise to themselves.
Alvin saw the girls seems exchanging meaningful looked at each other, he sighs as he ignores them… At least they no longer bothering him, and he can now concentrate in other tasks that Tom assigned to him.
