章 43: Fairy Tail's Strongest Team- Team Erza: The 100 Years Quest
The next morning Erza and kakashi went in the guild together holding hands which was his favorite activity- holding her hands as the members looked at them intrigued. "Erza never allowed a man to hold her in a romantic way not even Jellal" a voice from afar said. "You're late" Natsu screamed. "Master had been waiting for the two of you" Lucy greets them "What's going?" she asked her friends then she saw Jellal and Sasuke talking to Makarov. She looked at Kakashi, "What does Jellal doing here, really the timing is impeccable" she murmured.
"There you are, I have an important mission for you, before I explain the mission details let me introduce you to Fairy Tail's Strongest Team. Team Erza" Makarov announced "Team Erza?" the red head asked "You will the team captain of course, you will be joined by Gildarts Clive, Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfillia, Wendy Marvell, Happy and Carla of course, Gray Fullbuster, Jellal Fernandez, Kakashi Hatake and Sasuke Uchiha" he explained "What is this mission exactly master? The team composition scares the shit out of me, you've practically chosen the strongest mages of fairy tail not having to mention the most powerful ninjas of Konohagakure. Let's see... I have two dragon slayers, a celestial mage, a demon slayer, two exceeds, two S-class wizards- including me, a wizard saint and two powerfully skilled ninjas" she described in details. "Well I feel like a third wheel here" Lucy commented "The team is primarily composed of four men fighting over Erza's love" Happy announced. Erza felt small and embarrassed with the blue cat's comments "It's not her fault that all the strongest male wizards are into her" Mira Jane commented as she jots down the minutes of the meeting.
"Erza, your team will embark on the 100 Years Quest issued over a century ago by Magia Dragon, the first and oldest wizard guild in existence, this a mission that has been unaccomplished for over a century, on the northern continent of Guiltina. Your mission is to seal the Five Dragon Gods- known as The Holy Penta Drakes, a group of dragons whose power threatens to cause worldwide destruction if left unchecked. Each of them is arguably as strong as Acnologia" the guild master explains.
"Before we leave master, I wonder... I'm actually more curious about the reward" Lucy exclaimed. "There she goes again" Happy commented, Makarov smirked "Your reward is one thing. Elefseria the first person to hold the title of Guild Master, and the founder of Magia Dragon shall grant you whatever it is you desire, from all that is in this world, He shall grant you one thing of your choosing." he concluded
"I'm getting all fired up!!!" Happy, Carla, Lucy, Wendy, Natsu, Gray and Erza shouted in unison.
Elmina Town Harbor, Southwest Valeria where people worshiped the water god dragon Mercfovia: they encounter a trio of Dragon Slayers called Dragon Eaters from the Diabolos guild, who intend to gain Mercfovia's magic by devouring him. Mercfovia appears in a humanoid form to end the guilds' fighting, revealing that a century-old witch called the White Mage has already stolen much of his power, which he requests Erza's team to help him recover before he loses control of his remaining magic.
The Diabolos trio decide to target the White Mage for Mercfovia's power, defeating Erza's team and injuring Mercfovia. Lucy escapes and encounters Brandish, who, like Lucy, is searching Guiltina for Aquarius' key. Brandish helps Fairy Tail by beaching Diabolos's ship atop a hill, allowing Lucy's imprisoned friends to fight back against the trio, who retreat after threatening to retaliate with the rest of Diabolos. Shortly afterward, Mercfovia loses control of himself and assumes his dragon form, mindlessly rampaging across Ermina. Erza's team reluctantly attempt to kill Mercfovia, but they are overwhelmed by his godlike power. Meanwhile, Jellal confronts Touka over her identity as the White Mage and founder of Rebellious, a malevolent white magic cult opposite of Avatar that steals others' magic, but she is defended by .
Natsu is rescued from Mercfovia by the fire dragon god, Ignia, who reveals himself to be Igneel's biological son. Expressing interest in strengthening Natsu for a future confrontation, Ignia coaxes Natsu into eating his flames and flies away. The flames temporarily give Natsu the powers of the fire dragon god, allowing him to defeat Mercfovia, but also nearly sending Natsu on a mindless rampage until Lucy calms him down. Regaining his senses, Mercfovia survives and is rendered permanently powerless by his defeat, which fulfills part of Fairy Tail's mission. Out of gratitude, Mercfovia directs Fairy Tail to the city of Drasil to find the wood dragon god, Aldoron; en route, the team encounters a celebrity guild whose members coincidentally resemble Fairy Tail's wizards. Upon arriving in one of Drasil's towns, the team reunites with , who has escaped from the White Mage and warns them about her shortly before they discover the town to be built on top of the gargantuan Aldoron's right hand.
While gathering information on Aldoron, Fairy Tail is lured to a cathedral where they discover their guild mates and Jellal, who have been brainwashed by the White Mage. Seeking to control Aldoron, the White Mage sends the brainwashed wizards to destroy five orbs across Drasil that maintain the sleeping dragon's power, destroying the orb on Aldoron's right hand; Juvia, whom Touka has freed from mind control, warns her friends of the White Mage's plan. Erza's team splits up to protect the remaining orbs and defeat their friends for to return to normal. However, the situation is complicated by the presence of Diabolos's members, who join the battle against Fairy Tail and the White Mage's forces to eat Aldoron for themselves; one of the Dragon Eaters, a spirit named Reiss who is impervious to physical attacks, defeats Natsu and steals his soul.
Natsu was sent into a dimension. Sasuke, Erza and Kakashi used their sharingan to locate Natsu's dimension and was able to get his soul back. With all of them joined forces and excellent team work, they were able to seal all of the five dragons by defeating them rendering them powerless against Natsu who is now hailed as the strongest dragon slayer that lived. The reward was indeed a bluff but they are rewarded with 25 billion jewels each. Strangely after they got the reward the signed contract vanished in thin air together with the remains of the Magia Guild as well as Elefseria which later found out was just an enchantment to make sure that the quest is completed.
As they return to Magnolia, Lucy used her reward to buy her very own dream house, Erza bought a year's supply of her favorite strawberry cheesecake, Happy bought himself a cold storage full of fish and the rest is still undecided in what to do with their reward. The Magic council acknowledged their victory in saving the whole Earthland, gave the rights to be called Fairy Tale guild members to Sasuke and Kakashi removing the restrictions of them being a ninja instead of mages. The two officially received their guild mark- the fairy tail insignia and was declared an S-class member of the guild making Erza the proudest.
With excellent leadership and teamwork, the Magic Council reinstated Jellal Fernandez as the second wizard saint his criminal record erased making him a free man and they declared Erza Berselion Uchiha also known as Scarlet Titania as the first seat of the legendary 10 Wizard Saints- the top ten extremely powerful and skilled Mages of the Ishgar continent.
To become a member of the Ten Wizard Saints, a Mage must be granted this title by the Chairman of the Magic Council. There are different types of Mages who hold this prestigious title, though a few are known to be S-Class Mages of their respective guilds or even Guild Masters.In fact, some members of the Ten Wizard Saints do not even belong to guilds and can even be a part of the Magic Council. After the destruction of Tartaros, the Ten Wizard Saints banded together and reformed the broken Magic Council except for Makarov.
