章 171: Chapter 48

My father turned to face me, placing down the stack of envelopes in his hands. He had his neutral expression on his face, but I thought I could detect a slight hint of surprise by me being here. Or maybe it was me approaching him so soon about my business idea.

"Alright. Let's hear it," he said, folding his arms and leaning against the kitchen counter.

I quickly ran the numbers in my head for the cost of everything. High quality cameras, microphones and some top-tier computers and peripherals like headsets, gaming chairs and the like. I'd get Tori something special and build it myself. I wasn't sure what the others would need--or if they would even partake--but I wanted to make sure I had enough expendable cash to cover all bases. I also wanted to upgrade my old gaming laptop. It had been good, but I wanted something with a little more power.

"Thirty thousand should be more than enough for my plans," I said.

My father kept up his business façade and countered almost immediately. "I'll give you ten, since thirty is more than enough."

"Twenty-five. I need to make sure I have a surplus in case unexpected costs arise," I countered.

He was quiet for a short while, as if he were actually considering my counteroffer. My father had the money to give me without even noticing it, but I knew he wanted to make it difficult for me. I came into this negotiation knowing I'd have to ask for more than I actually needed.

"I think twenty-five is the lowest I can go," I said, standing my ground. "I am keeping a rather important secret after all. And getting out of your hair."

"Fifteen, and you can keep the car," he replied, sounding annoyed. I guess he hadn't expected me to stand my ground.

I hadn't really considered the car. It did belong to him, and he could take it from me at any time. Owning it would be nice, but I could always pick up a new car for much less.

"Twenty, and I'll pay the car off over time," I countered. "Without interest."

"At least you got one thing from me," he grunted. "Fine. Not like it matters anyway. Just make sure you keep your mouth shut."

"That's the deal," I said, knowing the cat was already out of the bag.

"Now. Tell me what my hard-earned money is being invested into," he said.

This was the part I was going to have to sell him on. He hated the idea of video games and even those who made money from them. There was a strong possibility he would laugh at my idea and think me a moron. And there was a good chance he'd let me go ahead with the foolish task--at the cost of his own money--and lord it over me to keep me quiet about his wandering penis.

That's exactly what I hoped he'd think.

"I'm going to help set my friends and I up with some top-tier gaming computers, then we'll start streaming," I explained. "With enough followers, we can each pull a hefty chunk of coin each week. They'll pay me back their portion of the loan for me to pay you back. The rest will be profit."

I didn't want him to know Tori was going to be on board with this. I wanted to keep her out from under his watch as much as possible. I already had plans to set up a gaming room for her at the new house.

"That's the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard," my father burst out laughing. "You want to spend twenty-five thousand dollars on computers, and hope someone gives you money to play video games. I thought you were smarter than that."

He continued his obnoxious laughter for nearly a full minute before he calmed down enough to form words.

"Do we have a deal or not?" I asked, keeping my cool. His laughter was toxic to my ears.

"Sure. I'll give you the money to play video games with you friends," he said with a laugh. "But you can't come back for more once you waste it all and can't make your house payments."

"Deal," I said, biting my tongue to keep from saying anything stupid. I just had to let him think I was making a mistake.

"I'll have my assistant transfer the funds to your account tonight," he said. "I'll have a contract written up for you to sign too."

"Contract?" I asked.

"You didn't think I was going to give you all this money and expect you to stay silent without assurances," he grinned. "I'll even let you read it before you sign."

"Fair enough," I said.

"Good. Now the comedy show is done, I best be off," he clapped his hands. "Emily is waiting for me in the city. Don't wait up."

His wink and sly grin made me clench my fists in anger. I wanted to smash his smug face in and teach him a lesson in respect. I knew he was throwing it in my face again, thinking I couldn't do anything about it. But he was wrong. I would bring him down and keep my women--and growing family--safe. Most importantly of all, I would get my mother away from him.

I found myself in a foul mood after my father left. I even avoided Tori for a couple of hours while I tried to cool down. I was feeling quite petulant, and the last thing I wanted was to put Tori on the spot with my bad attitude. I ended up just flicking through channels on the television in the living room, just to numb my brain a little. Everything would work out in the end. I just needed to stick to the plan.

"Good evening, dear."

I turned my head away from the television to see my mother. I had been so absorbed in my own thoughts that I hadn't heard the front door. I checked the time on my phone and was surprised to see a few hours had passed since my father had left.

"Hey, Mum. How was your day?" I asked, getting to my feet.

"The usual," she shrugged. "I heard it went well with Madison."

"Yeah. She's not here to get me back," I explained. "She just wanted to make peace and be friends again."

"I'm glad to hear that," she smiled. "I'm so proud of you. My boy is such a mature young man."

I smiled at my mother's praise and let my eyes roam across her figure.

She wore one of the tightest dresses I think I'd ever seen her wear. The thin, white fabric clung to every curve like a master painter had spent hours detailing it to her figure. Her large breasts pushed against the material, stretching it over her chest and displaying a generous amount of her perfect cleavage. Her body shape was quite similar to Tori's, only she had the softness of a woman in her mid--to late--forties, and wider hips. I marvelled--not for the first time--at how amazing she looked for a woman who had had two children. She must put a lot of effort into maintaining her figure.

"Your eyes are wandering, dear."

I snapped my eyes to hers, instinctively expecting her to berate or scold me for being a pervert. But she was smiling. Her full lips spread into a wide grin, show-casing her pearly whites. Her eyes--eyes that were eerily similar to Tori's--sparkled with delight, and maybe a bit of lust. I was well aware of my mother's attraction to me and I wasn't sure if it was the acceptance from Hayley--and apparently the others--or the rekindled relationship I shared with my mother now, but I suddenly found her irresistible.

"Sorry," I chuckled.

"Don't be. I haven't seen that look from your father for years," she smiled. "It's nice to feel that again."

My heart ached for the woman before me. My father was a complete douche bag, and she had to put up with him for over two decades.

"Mum. Can I ask you something?"

"Anything," she smiled.

"Had Dad always been like this?" I asked. "Surely there was a time where he wasn't a giant dick and you loved him."

My mother sighed heavily, then stepped forward to take me hand, leading me over to the three-seater couch.

"I did love your father at first. I guess I still do," she started, taking a seat. "We were both quite young, and he was still grieving the death of his ex.

"His ex?" I asked, interrupting her.

"Yes," she replied, taking my hand in hers. "They were high-school sweethearts. They had their whole lives planned out. Start a family young, buy a house, build a business. All that kind of stuff. But she was killed in a car accident a couple of years after they graduated high school."

I had no idea my father had been with another woman before my mother. I had guessed they'd both had plenty of partners since my parents met in their early twenties. There was no denying they had good genetics and were both quite popular. But I thought they were normal, teenage relationships and probably ended once real life reared its ugly head. The death of a loved one could explain why my father turned into an asshole. But it didn't excuse his current behaviour.

"I guess that he hasn't really gotten over her," I asked.

"No," she shook her head. "It's impossible for him to."

"Why?" I asked, a little confused.

My mother gave me a small, sad smile, and squeezed my hand. "That's not important right now."

I had a feeling there was more to the story that she wasn't telling me. Something important that would make sense. I decided to drop it for now though.

"Okay," I nodded.

"Thank you," she replied. "I know your father did love me in his own way. At least he tried too. But more and more lately I've gotten the feeling that he continually compares me to his ex. And that I never really measure up in his eyes."

"That's ridiculous," I said, a little mad. "I can understand grieving for a loved one. But there has to be a point where he needs to move on. It's not like they were married for twenty-plus years with children. He needs to grow up."

I was getting continually frustrated by my father. He had treated me like shit for most of my life, and now I was finding out what a shitty husband he had been. It looked like the only person in my family he was actually a responsible human being too was Tori.

"Thank you, Jason," my mother smiled warmly. "But I'm a big girl now and can take care of myself. What's important now is to find a way to get you and Tori away from him so you two can be happy."

"And you," I said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"When we move and get away from him. I want you to come and live with us," I said, taking her hands in mine. "You deserve better."

I thought I saw her eyes tear up for just a second, but then it passed. For my mother--queen of the resting bitch face--that was as much expression displayed as Vicky's broad smile in the morning.

"I would like that," she said finally. "But I don't want to be a burden."

"You won't be," I assured her. "Plus. You'll want to be around for all your grandchildren, won't you?"

This time, she did tear up, and her face split in two with a huge smile. "You couldn't keep me from my grand-babies even if you tried."

"You'll be an amazing grandma," I said. "A hot one too."

My mother smacked me on the shoulder playfully but couldn't suppress her grin. "You're such a charmer. You definitely didn't get that from your father."

"I guess I got that from my mother," I grinned.

Her smile faded a touch. It was so miniscule that if I hadn't been paying attention, I probably wouldn't have noticed. There was something she wasn't telling me, and I suspected if I pushed her for it, it might upset her.

"How about we go out for dinner?" I said, changing the subject. "You, Tori and me."

"That sounds lovely," she replied. "Give me half an hour to get ready."

"Really? You look like a million bucks as you are," I replied genuinely. I didn't see how she could make herself look even better. Unless she was planning on going to dinner in a string bikini.

"Hush now young man. Flattery will get you everywhere," she winked. "I'll tell your sister.

You decide where we are going to eat."

"Deal," I nodded.

"Just one condition," my mother said, turning away.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Nothing fancy," she called over her shoulder.

"You got it," I replied. My eyes glued to her backside as she retreated from the living room.

I ended up chilling in-front of the TV for about ten minutes while my mother and sister got ready for dinner. I knew them both well enough to know I had a solid forty minutes before they'd be ready. And I really only needed a quick shower and to get changed.

I turned the television off after several more minutes and headed to the downstairs bathroom. I couldn't hear the shower running, but the door was partially opened, and steam was billowing out into the hallway. I was greeting with the fantastic view of Tori's backside as I opened the door, and I took a moment to admire her naked body.

She was standing in-front of the mirror as she dried her hair with a soft-white towel. Her taut cheeks bounced just right to her motions, and I found myself leaning against the doorframe with my head cocked as my eyes were glued to her wondrous curves.

"Hey Jason."

I looked up and saw Tori's grinning face in the reflection of the mirror. She gave her hips a little wiggle, drawing my eyes back to her behind once more. I'd never grow tired of that ass.

"Hey Tori. You done in here?" I asked, taking a few steps into the bathroom.

"Sure thing. Unless you need help washing your back?" she winked.

I chuckled and shook my head. Any other time with my father out of the apartment, I would have jumped at the chance to take her in the shower. But we had a dinner date with our mother, and I didn't want to keep her waiting. There was also a high probability that we'd end up in bed together later.

"Nah. Not this time, Tor," I said, expecting a pout.

"Good boy," she winked. "I need to get ready and I'd hate to keep Mum waiting."

We shared a short--but passionate--kiss as she passed me to go to her room. But she stopped in the doorway and turned to face me.

"Maybe next time you could let Mum wash your back?" she winked, then vanished before I could reply. My women were absolutely crazy when it came to pushing me into bed with someone else. Although...I was growing increasingly fonder of the idea of bedding my own mother.

I quickly showered--ignoring my now raging boner--and dried myself before striding across the hall in my birthday suit. It wasn't like either of the women in the apartment right now would mind if they caught an eyeful of my schlong. The thought of that made my ego swell.

I still had fuck-all of a clue when it came to men's fashion, and I really didn't want to re-use the outfit I'd worn for both my date with Natalie and Lucy, but I was a firm believer in 'If it ain't broke. Don't fix it'. I went to my wardrobe and was momentarily surprised by the clothes I saw hanging up. For several seconds I wondered if I'd wandered into the wrong room and opened someone else's wardrobe. But then I spotted my casual t-shirts folded neatly on one of the shelves.

Hanging on the coat-hangers were an assortment of button-down shirts, jackets and polo-shirts. The colours were mostly in white, blacks and greys. The colours I liked to wear. I wondered where all these nice--and expensive looking--clothes had come from. It was probably a team effort from my women, led by my mother and Hayley.

I sorted through the clothes until I found something that I thought would go well together. My mother didn't want anything fancy, so I suspected this might do the trick.

I picked out a pair of acid-washed Levi's that fit perfectly. Next, I picked out an expensive looking leather belt that sat beside four others. It too seemed to fit my waist perfectly. I had no idea why I needed five belts. I'd gone most of my life with the same twenty-dollar belt I got from K-mart. I picked out a black V-neck t-shirt and pulled it over my head. It felt a little snug, but I had more confidence in myself these days, so I went with it. Lastly, I pulled on one of my watches--again, there were six different watches in a small box--and my comfortable timberland boots.

Once I was dressed, I turned to check myself out in the mirror attached to the inside of the wardrobe door. The outfit was simple and casual, but I had to admit, I looked quite good. My hair was starting to get a little scruffy--and I needed to trim my beard--but that was a problem for another day.

"Jason!" I heard my mother call from the living room. "We're ready."

"Yeah! Get your butt out here," Tori called right after.

"Coming!" I replied, grabbing a badass looking brown-leather jacket. It was still the tail-end of summer, but the nights could be cool on occasion.

I carried my jacket and headed into the living room. The sight of my mother and sister caused my jaw to drop, and my eyebrows to raise.

My mother had changed from her slim-fitting dress she wore earlier and had opted for something akin to my own outfit. Instead of boots, she had chosen six-inch golden stilettos that were more strap than shoe. Skin-tight white jeans hugged her long, lean legs and rode low on her pronounced hips. A flimsy black top all but hung from her impressive breasts by two teeny-tiny straps that crisscrossed over her slim shoulders. Her hair was freshly brushed--hanging down to her tight butt--and her winged eyeliner was masterfully applied, making her look like an Egyptian goddess with her bronzed skin.

Tori looked equally magnificent, and it was clear as day they were mother and daughter. Although, with how smoking hot my mother looked, they could have been sisters.

My sister had gone quite casual, but still looked absolutely fuckable in her tight black shorts that rode low on her hips, dark grey tube top--which was working overtime trying to contain her breasts--and simple black sandals. Her hair was pulled back into her customary ponytail.

Both women gave me broad smiles as I walked up to them.

"Woo-hoo!" Tori hollered. "Look at that stud."

"Settle down, Tori," my mother smiled. "You're making Jason blush."

I gave my mother and sister a fake stern look--causing them to both giggle--but couldn't keep myself from smiling for longer than a few seconds. They definitely were mother and daughter.

After a short trip to the parking lot, we all piled into my BMW. I wasn't sure if they'd planned it beforehand, but my mother sat beside me while Tori took the backseat. I still hadn't even thought about where we were going to go for dinner, so I just started driving to the city.

"Have you made a choice about where we are going?" my mother asked after a few minutes.

"Not yet. I was just gonna head into the city and see what strikes us," I replied, keeping my eyes on the road.

"Sounds like a good plan. I enjoy being impulsive," she replied. And I thought I could detect a playful hint in her tone.

Tori and our mother chatted idly as I concentrated on navigating the madness that was

Sydney traffic. It seemed every asshole and his dog were out at the same time, and not a single one of them knew how to indicate or merge properly. Who the hell was handing out driver's licenses these days? I considered filling Mum in about the plan I had with Tori and my women, but there was no rush. If I was being honest with myself, I had doubts about the plan. The more I thought about it, the more ridiculous it sounded.

"Pull into there, Jason." My mother pointed to a parking garage off the street we were on.

"Okay. Sure," I said.

I merged across to the left lane and barely escaped being clipped by a van as it sped up to fill the tiny gap I had indicated to merge into. The tradesmen behind the wheel flipped me off and shouted out his window, but I ignored the asshole.

I pulled up to the booth just before the gate and lowered my driver's side window. The middle-aged man behind the service window gave me a defeated look--like he was on his last legs in a shitty job--but suddenly, his eyes widened, and he seemed to come to life.

"Melissa! Is that you?" he exclaimed.

I was momentarily confused by his sudden outburst. Then I noticed my mother was leaning across to look out of my window. The angle of her body and the flimsy top she wore gave me a fantastic view of the swell of her breasts.

"Hello Duncan," my mother greeted the man. "It's been awhile. How are you?"

"Not so great Melissa," he replied. "Judy left me recently and I've had to move out of the house."

"I'm sorry to hear that," my mother said, sounding genuinely sad. "You were always too good for Judy."

"That's kind of you to say," Duncan smiled. "You on a date tonight?"

He gave me a quick once over, then fixed his eyes on my mother. I couldn't read his expression, but I sensed he was feeling jealous.

"Not at all my dear. This is my son, Jason," she said, placing a hand on my arm. "And my daughter, Tori."

The back window rolled down and Tori gave Duncan and wave and a smile. He looked from Tori to myself, then back to my mother.

"Well. It has been a long time," he said. "I didn't realise your children had grown up so much already."

"Time escapes us all Duncan," my mother said. "As it is now."

There were a few cars banking up behind us now, and a few had started honking their horns in agitation.

"Oh!" Duncan said, sounding surprised. "I'll let you right on through. No charge for your parking tonight. You just have a good time."

"Thank you, Duncan," my mother smiled. "Let's catch up soon."

"Definitely," Duncan smiled.

Once the gate lifted, I rolled us into the parking garage and picked the first empty spot I could find. It wasn't a great location, but these parking garages were always packed like a sardine can and I wasn't going to risk the first empty spot I found just because I wanted a better one.

"Is he an old friend?" I asked my mother as I shut the engine off.

"Duncan went to my high school," she explained. "He was always a nice boy, but he was bullied relentlessly. We kept in touch once we graduated, but after I met your father we only kept in contact via social media. Your father is quite the jealous type."

"He seems nice. Is that why you recommended me to park here?" I asked.

"You are very observant," my mother smiled. "Yes. I knew he was working here, and I wanted to check up on him. Plus, I knew he'd give us free parking for the night."

"Sneaky," I grinned.

"I have many tricks my dear Jason," my mother winked.

I felt my heart quicken and my cock twitch as I watched her step out of my car. The reality of fucking my own mother was getting closer and closer to something I wouldn't be bothered with. Actually...the thought of taking her to bed didn't bother me at all. Ever since I had been reassured and even pushed into the idea by Hayley--then later when Tori had hinted at her being okay with it--the cons of sleeping with my mother had vanished. She was stunning, and far more compassionate and intelligent than I gave her credit for. Plus, I actually enjoyed her company.

I wondered what the rest of tonight would bring me.

We ended up strolling through the city centre of Sydney. My mother on one arm, Tori on the other. I felt like a badass as I walked the streets with a gorgeous woman on each arm. I caught a few guys checking them out, and a couple even gave me a thumbs up. They could clearly tell the two were either mother and daughter, or sisters. Since I shared practically no resemblance to either of them, it just looked like I was some lucky dude out on the town with these two hotties.

After all, mother/daughter fantasies were quite high with men. And I could see why.

After about ten minutes of walking, we headed down one of the main streets. It was as packed as I expected it to be. People walked in throngs along the footpaths and darted across the road between barely moving vehicles as the drivers rained curses down upon other drivers and pedestrians alike. It was utter chaos.

"Anything catch your eye?" I asked in a shout to be heard.

"There was this absolutely amazing Vietnamese takeaway on this road. I used to go there all the time," my mother shouted her reply. "Let's see if it's still there."

"Sounds good," I replied.

I checked with Tori to see if she agreed. She simply smiled, nodded her head, and pressed herself tighter against me. I gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before we crossed a set of traffic lights and continued our trek.

Several minutes later we arrived at a small takeaway shop front. The windows were barred, and the sign was in what I guessed was Vietnamese.

"This is the place," my mother said with a smile. "Their food is delicious."

"If you say so," I chuckled. "Let's head in."

We were greeted at the door by a short, middle-aged Asian woman who spoke heavily accented English. My mother greeted her with a warm smile, but in Vietnamese. The Asian woman smiled and hugged my mother, and they conversed at the speed of light in the woman's native tongue. I had no idea my mother spoke different languages. This woman was full of surprise.

After several minutes, the woman smiled at Tori and I, then beckoned for us to follow her.

"I didn't know you spoke Vietnamese," I said.

"There's plenty about me you don't know Jason," my mother barely suppressed a smile.

"Guess I'll have to find out," I replied with confidence.

The take-away was actually more of a restaurant that I would have guessed from outside. The building looked small, but it was deep. There were sections partitioned off for privacy, and enough tables and chairs to seat about thirty people comfortably. Our greeter led us to a corner booth, then left us with menus after her and my mother exchanged a few words.

"On a stroll down memory lane tonight?" I asked my mother as we took out seats.

"Something like that," she replied, sliding in to sit on my left.

Tori slid in on my other side and wrapped her arms around me in a quick hug. We shared a quick kiss--with plenty of tongue--before we put just a touch of distance between us. Our mother didn't mind at all, but who knows who we might see out in public.

"I wish we didn't have to keep it a secret," Tori sighed.

"I know," I said, taking her hand under the table. "I just want to tell the world how much I love you."

"Ditto," Tori grinned. "But let's make up for it tonight."

"Deal," I grinned, and chanced a quick kiss on the lips.

"What are you two love birds whispering about?" our mother asked.

"Just about how much we love each other," Tori said with a silly grin.

"You two are adorable," our mother replied. "But I'll have to ask you to tone it down for tonight."

"Yes, Mum," Tori and I said in unison.

I had no idea what to choose for dinner, so I let my mother pick something nice. And boy, did she get it right. The food was absolutely delicious. The caramel pork sounded strange to begin with, but I thought I'd give it a go since my mother said it was good. It definitely kicked the shit out of most of my evening meals of ramen and fast food. Tori seemed to be enjoying her meal too, and we even shared some crispy--and incredibly delicious--spring rolls.

"So...what do you think?" my mother asked as we finished our meals.

"That was so good," Tori said, leaning back in her chair. "I'm so full, but I want more."

"Yeah, that really was something else," I said, patting my full belly.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it. I haven't been here in a long time, so it was good to come back," my mother replied with a sad smile.

Her eyes were fixed on somewhere else in the restaurant, and I turned in my seat to follow her gaze. Across the other side of the room--seated in a booth like ours--sat my father, and Emily. The two sat almost right on-top of one another. My father had his arm around Emily, and she was leaning in close as she whispered something in her ear. She giggled, then planted a kiss on his lips.

"We should go," I said, turning back to my mother. But she was already standing.

"Wait here," she said, and started across the room.

"Oh shit," I muttered.

Tori gasped and covered her mouth when she noticed our mother crossing the room. She had been toying on her phone, but now it was all but forgotten.

"Jace. Do something," she pleaded. "I don't want to see Mum and Dad fight here."

I understood her feelings. He was an asshole, but he was still our father. It must have been monumentally more difficult for Tori though. He'd doted on her and had done anything for his little girl growing up. I never really thought about the ramifications on Tori's relationship with my old man during all this. She had been quiet about it.

"Tori. I'm sorry. I know you and Dad have been close," I started to say.

"No," she said, turning to face me. "Don't you dare try to apologize for his actions. I love you Jason, and that's all that matters. He has cheated on Mum, he has been horrible to you, and he has tried to hurt you and Hayley. I don't care if he was the greatest father in the world to me. He deserves this, I just don't want to see it."

I nodded, then took her hand. "Then let's go."

Tori nodded and followed me out. I kept us to the far side of the restaurant--as best I could--and passed by the booth with my father and Emily just as my mother made her presence known.

"I knew you were a piece of shit," she said, causing my father to jump at the sudden interruption. "But to bring a girl as young as your daughter to the place of our first date...that's just disgusting."

Emily looked mortified, and it looked as if she were trying to sink into the chair to avoid my mother's intense glare. My father looked furious. I saw the muscles in his jaw tense as he stared at my mother. Who was making quite a scene. Then his eyes fixed on me, and I felt my blood run cold.

"You did this," he all but snarled.

"You leave our children out of this," my mother interjected. "I brought them out here to share in a wonderful memory. A memory you have now tainted with your affair."

"It's not like that," my father started to plead his case.

"It's exactly how I saw it," she cut him off. "It's been a long time coming. But I want a divorce. You can stay with your side-piece, otherwise I'll call the police on you."

"You can't keep me out of my own home. It belongs to me," he snapped. "I want you all out of my home tonight."

"Your home?" my mother said, leaning down and getting close to my father's face. "If you remember correctly. We share everything. Now, do you still want to come home tonight? Or do I need to go after my fair share?"

My father actually paled at my mother's words. He'd always been so sure of himself. So confident and in charge that I actually felt bad for him. My mother was definitely a force to be reckoned with, and that force was directed straight at him.

"I didn't think so," she added, standing up straight. "Let's go kids."

Without another word, she strode away from my all but gaping father. I quickly spirited Tori away so she could be out of the firing line in-case our father had a retort. But we were only met with silence. I took Tori outside while our mother paid the bill and hugged her close. I could tell she was upset by the whole ordeal.

"I'm so sorry for making a scene," my mother said as soon as she joined us.

"It's okay," I said.

"Are you okay Tor?" my mother asked, oozing compassion for her daughter.

"Yeah, I am. I was just scared for a moment there," she said with a sigh.

"Scared of what dear?" our mother asked.

"Scared that we wouldn't have somewhere to live," she replied.

"Never worry about that. I wouldn't let anything happen to you two," she smiled. "Now let's get back home."

The drive back home was more than a little sombre, and even walking into the apartment felt different. Tori excused herself immediately, saying she wanted to grab a hot shower and get to bed. It was still early, but I could tell she was a little rattled by the encounter our parents had. I needed to make sure I was there for her in the up-coming weeks or months.

"Stay with her tonight, Jason. She will need you," my mother said, placing a hand on my arm.

"I will," I replied. "I'll look after her."

"I know you will. I'm glad you ended up so different to your father," she smiled.

I nodded, then gave her a big hug. I breathed deeply and relished in the smell of her perfume. The scent of her shampoo, and just the overall feel of her body. We stayed like that for far longer than appropriate for mother and son, but there was no one around to judge us. We finally parted, and I kissed her. Our lips met and it felt right. She kissed me back softly, and for several seconds we were just two people who'd been holding back our affections for too long. The kiss was not rushed or hurried; we simply just let it take its course.

"That was nice," my mother said once we broke apart.

"Yeah," I replied, a little out of breath.

"Goodnight, Jason."

"Goodnight, Mum."
