Their heads snapped towards the source of disturbance and they immediately tensed up and they moved to the cause of the sound with alertness. They immediately released their mana signal, getting ready to fight.

Roshan’s heart pounded in his chest,

“Way to go, Roshan. Way to keep things stealthy.”

But he knew he couldn’t stay there any longer, he had to keep on moving. He twisted his body and made his way deeper into the vent passageway.

“I wonder what that sound was.” One of the guards said causing Roshan to tense up, they were right under the opening of the vent. The second guard immediately looked around and his eyes caught something sparkling, the dim light in the hallway strangely reflected on to the metallic surface of the nut and had caught the attention of the guard, he walked closer and bent down to pick it. It was just a random nut, he wonndered where it could have come from.
