Zack stopped moving in the air by using Wind magic, and then he returned to that portal to close it. He wanted to annoy the enemy at least that much. 

"Keep playing your stupid game. You will lose in the end," Zack thought and then checked the surroundings again. "These waters smell… is this a world almost destroyed by pollution?"

As Zack considered his unexpected arrival in the strange world, he couldn't help but think about the reasons behind it. Two main hypotheses came to his mind, each carrying its own weight of concern and strategy.
