[A/N: - A new chapter because I am a diligent author and ABSOLUTELY not because some asshole threatened me with spamming and flooding my DMs with "Boku no Pico" images and clips…. not at all…
Also, what a shitty day… I lost my 512 days log-in streak because of my shitty internet quota ran out and I didn't sign-in the other day, FUCK!!!!]
____________
Hearing the low screams of pain coming from the burning villa, Jin smiled wryly as he teleported Lin Kun to where the were standing as they landed away from the villa.
The sudden appearance of a mutilated 'corpse' accompanied with the smell of burnt flesh almost made the four ladies vomit the contents of their stomachs. The temporary Gamer's Mind did its wonders and stabilized them, and since Cai Ning was trained and probably saw something similar during one of her missions, she recovered rather quickly from the disgusting feeling.
Ruoxi gazed towards the thing that was supposed to be her 'father' with an indifferent cold gaze. After all that he made her go through, and the recent 'development' in her mental state, she didn't even feel an iota of pity looking at the thing screaming in pain in front of her.
'Didn't he want to kill Jin? This is the least he can go through.'
This was the current thought process inside her head that even she was not aware of right at this moment.
Ruoxi felt that she was unusually calm and collected at this moment and felt it was strange, but she was thankful to this oddity nevertheless as she was sure that she would've fainted at least three times over what happened during the past two hours.
What did she think about the matter of Jin killing people? She naturally threw that useless topic into the back of her mind. They dared to try and kill him and then he killed them instead, end of topic. Although she was really curious about the 'magical' abilities he showed while mowing the guys in the villa, she decided to ask him later.
[A/N: - A yandere(possible goudere) Ruoxi is a top tier waifu.]
Mo Qianni's thoughts however where different, but not so much.
It was her first-time feeling despair after she was accused with theft by the shop owner that wanted to assault her as a child. Having been on a roller-coaster of fear and fury towards the actions of Lin Kun, that it almost caused her to have a mental breakdown, she was currently beyond relieved. The disgusting gaze and the lecherous threats of Link Kun still echo inside her head. Having your childhood trauma poked… no, gauged and in that disgusting and more intense matter, it was not something that anyone can handle.
The look in Lin Kun's eyes and the same look in the eyes of the mercenaries looking towards her like a naked piece of meat, Qianni felt her stomach churn from just imagining what would have happened to her if she was not miraculously saved.
'A hero saving the princess.'
Such a cliché development that even the lowest level writers stopped using in their books because of how cliché it is, however. Even if it's cliché, even if it's busted and overused, a woman's mind will never change. Every woman dreamed about her knight in silver armor that will come and save her when she desperately needs him the most. Such a case was the current one.
Even if Qianni knows that it's wrong, stupid, and cliché, her mind and heart would never listen to her. She was saved when she was in a desperate state. He pulled her up before she fell into an irreversible abyss of despair. Qianni knew for sure that she was by no means a princess, however for her, Jin was still her knight in the shining armor.
Right when she was about to fall into the clutches of the devil, the courageous handsome youth smiling brightly at her came to her rescue from a situation that would normally be called a suicide.
She was unnaturally calm about the whole ordeal, but at this moment she couldn't care less. At this moment, all the previous feelings that she has repressed suddenly blew up and with intensity that she had never felt before. All the thoughts about her kidnapping and almost rape suddenly disappeared. All the thoughts about him calmly killing all those people disappeared. All the thoughts about the magic he used disappeared. All the guilt that she felt for Ruoxi, also disappeared…
At this moment, Mo Qianni was only a woman in love.
[A/N: - Oh God…. The amount of cringe I had(and have) to write in this arc is vomit inducing… I fucking hate romance, and I fucking hate this arc that is full of romance and drama! AGH!!!! FUCKING KILL MEEE!!!! The amount of braincells that I lost during the couple of chapters of this arc especially this chapter and the previous one is a good amount that I could've put into a better use for studying instead…
Well, for creating an obsessive Ruoxi, it's still worth it…]
____/POV change\____
Jin was still looking at the humanoid bloody pulp that was formerly called Lin Kun with a contemplative gaze.
He honestly felt sorry for the dude. He didn't hate him at all. It may sound strange after what happened, but the only emotion Jin felt towards the guys was pity.
He was thinking about actually helping the dude later, but he didn't think that the plot would be accelerated like this, so pretty much shit the fan a bit too early.
Well, in a sense, he also felt a bit of gratitude towards the guy for giving him a shortcut to avoid major drama with two girls, and the main reason is actually giving him a stage to act cool in a world that is not an anime world!
Do you know how fucking hard it is to set up a similar stage where you appear so damn cool and do things like that while not triggering shitload of drama flags when you are not in an anime world?! It's nigh-impossible, especially in a modern Chinese novel world like this, and more specially because this damn world oozes drama with every fiber of its being.
He was honestly wondering if the author of this book was Korean instead of Chinese from the amount of crappy drama-related main and sub-plots.
Why couldn't it be a typical modern CN world where the MC just flexes his big pp energy, and it solves everything with zero drama and an instant zero to hundred developments with the girls with no extra steps.
He was honestly wondering if Lin Kun acted as his plot armor right this instant, but the pained groans of the person himself snapped him out of his useless thoughts. He looked at the guy in front of him and noticed how quickly his lifeforce was fading.
'Better save the dude first and think about useless crap later, I m not really sure even the discount Gamer's Mind I gave them would work seeing me revive a dead person.'
With a wave of his hand, Heaven and Earth Restoration Energy engulfed the almost dead Lin Kun healing his injuries with speed visible to the naked eyes.
Under the surprised gazes of the girls, the dead skin kept falling as new skin grew instead. It looked like a stomach-churning scene out of horror movie, but they still witnessed the miracle of the unidentified bag of flesh regenerated into the middle-aged man that held them captive before with no traces of him burning alive except his change of clothes that was done during the healing as his previous ones either stuck to the burnt flesh or burnt to ashes with the fire.
Lin Kun, who felt the continuous agony that he was in finally stop, lost his consciousness as if he was a puppet that lost its strings.
With another wave of his hand, Jin used telekinesis to levitate the body of Lin Kun as he turned towards the girls.
"Since we are done here, does anyone of you want to say or do something to him?"
Jin asked while pointing towards the floating body behind him just to be answered with the two young girls and Wang Ma shaking their heads in denial. What would they want to do to him? He was already burning in hell in a literal sense for a couple of minutes, so any resentment they had towards him diminished to a degree that they won't personally want to do something to him, but if he were to drop dead right at this moment, then they wouldn't even raise an eyebrow.
"Now that we are done here and the villa is currently on fire, so you don't have any place to stay at this moment. I'll send you to my home, so take a good rest till I finish what I'm going to do."
Jin said as he then looked towards Ruoxi.
"And Ruoxi, I think we will have a lot to talk about after I return."
Ruoxi obediently nodded with a small smile on her face as if they were not standing next to a scene taken straight out of an apocalypse at all.
"By the way, don't you really want to tell him anything at all? It may be the last time you see him."
Jin asked Ruoxi one last time. He knows how much Ruoxi values family relationships, so he had to at least ask this, so she doesn't come to regret it later.
Shaking her head gently, Ruoxi responded.
"I don't really care anymore, do whatever you want with him."
Snapping his fingers, Ruoxi, Wang Ma, and Qianni disappeared from their places and reappeared in rooms in his mansion. He then turned his gaze towards Cai Ning who was still stupefied from the whole thing and spoke.
"Well, Miss Cai, I honestly don't care about what you will report to Lin Zhiguo, but I want to tell you something –"
"You know the leader?!"
Cai Ning exclaimed in surprise on her formerly indifferent face.
"I don't think why you are surprised that I will know that identity of someone who is supposed to be my current 'grandfather-in-law', and please don't interrupt me."
Cai Ning didn't pay attention to the sarcasm in his voice when he said 'grandfather-in-law', but she still stayed still and listened.
"In any case, I have always known about you following me around whenever I am here in China and I don't really mind it since you are indeed got the right to do so, after all it's like you have a walking antimatter bomb walking freely on your territory, so I am not really against it. But please tell this message to Lin Zhiguo, tell him that even though you got discovered and your current 'covet mission' went dud, you should never do a change of personnel.
Although I know that you guys have the right to monitor my movements on your territory, but I am totally ok with it since you are the sister of Yanyan, so I am not treating you as I would treat a complete stranger. Not to mention that you do know the attitude of most of your group better than me, so you guys won't really be happy to receive the remains of the ones you send after me later in a casket due some stupid thing."
Cai Ning listened carefully to every word he said and couldn't refute any of them. At first, she was chosen to keep an eye on Pluto because she was the best one among her colleagues in doing stealth missions because of her training in the Ancient Tang sect's stealth techniques and Qinggong skill (Lightness Skill). Not to mention her inheriting the extremely mysterious technique 'Sky-filling Flower Rain', so "Flower Rain" became her code name. Other than from her gun, her concealed weapons could be shot from anywhere on her body. Combining all these aspects together, she became the prime candidate to keep an eye on him.
Now, with her mission being blown out of proportions, she knew that there may be a chance for someone else to replace her, but she also knew the characters of her colleagues. Most of them, especially the guys, will blow the mission up by the second day out of irritation and according to their characters they will most probably attack or try to challenge Jin into a fight so they can prove their superiority and that his title as God is not worth a dime. That's why when Jin told her that according to her colleagues' personalities, that they would most likely return in caskets, she didn't doubt his words at all.
Adding to the fact that with the absurdities she witnessed right here, she was sure that not a single person in the higher-ups will try to challenge Jin's authority.
She had witnessed him use two of the three tribulation fires, and the strongest of the three waters. This alone without his status as a God makes him the strongest powerhouse in China. Currently in all of China, none of the people alive, even the experts, are able to breakthrough the xiantian stage. But now in front of her, the living anomaly in the shape of an amiable handsome young man probably of the same age as her, had already achieved levels that she only read bits about in the ancient documents in the library of the sect, and even if she told her master, she would be called as crazy as no one can achieve those levels anymore. [A/N: - Note that she doesn't know of Hongmeng's cultivators, so for her xiantian is pretty much the max level.]
"Well, I finished what I want to say, I'll leave you to handle this mess, see you later."
Without waiting for her response, Jin and Lin Kun disappeared in a flash of light leaving Cai Ning alone with her senses picking up the sounds of the approaching ambulances and firetrucks that came after the neighbors probably called them. She was confused that there were no police when the sound of bullets should have been alarming all of the area, but she shrugged it off and attributed it to Jin preventing the sound from going out one way or another.
With a tired sigh escaping her lips, she used her Lightness skill to fly out of the scene leaving no trace of her behind except the blazing inferno that was formerly the house of her friend.
____/Scene change\____
Appearing inside an oceanfront residence, Jin looked at the floating body next to him as he used his telekinesis to make him stand then woke him up.
"Aghh…"
Groaning while opening his eyes, Lin Kun almost screamed like a banshee seeing Jin in front of him.
Having been sure that something like this will happen the moment he is seen, Jin used his energy to silence Link Kun, so no sound escaped his mouth when he screamed.
After thinking for a moment, Jin decided to give the dude another copy of the temporary Gamer's Mind so this conversation can go smoothly without much hassle.
It didn't take a second for Lin Kun to calm down as he gazed calmly at Jin although his gaze couldn't hide the horror and panic in them.
Looking at his handiwork, Jin inwardly praised himself for using his abilities like this.
'Man, I should've used it more like this, it's so damn good to avoid all these shitty emotional moments and mental breakdowns.'
"Since you have finally calmed down, I'll get straight to business. I know that this will hurt your pride, but I really pity you."
Hearing the start of the conversation being like this, Lin Kun was confused, then became angry when he heard the following.
"Born as sterile man, you had no hope of creating a family of your own and decided to indulge in debauchery to vent your frustration. Having a shitty father that never paid attention to you or gave you emotional support because of his prestigious family forbad him from contacting you and your mother as you were treated as some kind of mistake because of your 'low-born' identity. Having your mother make you marry a woman that you never loved out of her guilt towards that woman's family.
And the thing that broke you the most, when your wife had an affair with another man and carried his child inside her, and that was under the knowledge, approval, and encouragement of your own mother, your own blood. And to make it worse, your own mother treated the child of the affair better than you, her own blood-related son.
You had to spend your life knowing that your wife gave you a green hat and made you a legit cuckold, raising the daughter of another man, and all that under your mother's care.
Your mother had been raising the child of another man as her legit granddaughter after her mother's death, and finally, giving almost all of her wealth and the company that she built from rubble to the daughter of another guy, so basically your inheritance was given to an outsider."
Lin Kun's fury was at the peak, but his eyes continued to spill tears as he continued to listen to how miserable his life is. He can't speak nor move, so he had no choice but to listen to his own life being narrated by the monster in front of him. He snapped out of his thoughts when the man in front of him started speaking again.
"I honestly admire your patience and self-restraint. I can't imagine myself in your shoes, so honestly the fact that you didn't outright kill Ruoxi out of rage when she was born, or during her 23 years of life is truly worthy of my respect. That's why I am here for you with an offer."
Lin Kun continued to listen as he urged the man in front of him with his eyes to continue after he calmed down.
"I will be giving you a new lease in life. I'll cure your defect as a man, give you the place we are in right now, and with tons of money that you will probably not spend in your lifetime. In exchange, I want you to agree to stay here for the rest of your life, to sign this property transfer contract, and a magical contract that states that you will not in any case try to do an act of retaliation towards, Ruoxi, Me, or any of our families or friends.
I know that you may think that any of the things I am giving you is worth more than that villa and that I sure as hell can get these contracts out of you and not pay a single dime, but as I told you, I pity and respect you, so you can take this as a token from me or even a whim.
And well, who knows? Maybe after you get cured you might find your true soulmate here and actually start a family of your own, too far away from that shitty past of yours."
After finishing his part, Jin put the contracts and a pen on the glass table in front of them as he patiently waited for the response from the now free Lin Kun.
Lin Kun having got control over his body back, he didn't immediately pick the pen, but instead walked to the balcony of the house overlooking the ocean and took a deep breathe while looking at the horizon. The golden rays of the sun were already starting to penetrate the thick shroud of night as they started to shine on his depressed, but calm face.
"A new start and a new family, huh…"
With a whisper that was swallowed by the morning breeze and final tear drops falling from the eyes of the pitiful man, he went back and picked the pen as he signed the contracts that will change his life forever.
____________
[A/N: - AAAAAND CUT!! And this puts an end to my pitiful dude, Lin Kun. The dude suffered a lot and in all honestly, I feel bad for all the shit he had to go through ad how fucked up he always ends in the original and any fanfic of this book, so I decided to give the dude some rest and preferably a happy ending. And since he tried to kill Ruoxi and all, I still had him become a BBQ before the happy ending, but it was still worth it.
I honestly enjoyed writing this chapter, and it's been a while since I really did, so I am considering this as a success of some sorts.
Gonna go back to my cave again, adios!]
