In a small quaint forest, a young boy and a old man were sitting around a fire. The old man was meditating while the young boy spent his time carving a figurine.
"Seven Hundred Fifty!" exclaimed Eden. 'Finally I'm done, this lecherous old man better keep his promise and teach me some magic. But he was indeed right, my exertion for the the last two hundred figurines was minimal and I do not feel tired."
Two weeks have gone by since Eden carved his first figurine. Eden was shocked at this small change, his first figurine he exerted all his mana just to create the dog figurine. Now, he would say that he only used about 10% of his mana.
Eden placed his last figurine within his spatial ring. He was full of accomplishment.
"You have completed the task I see. But you are not at the level of control I would want. So while learning these first set of spells, I want you to continue your carving work. This time I want you to sculpt something from stone."
Old man Oak took emptied out from his spatial ring a thousand stones, they were about the size of a human palm . "Please use you imagination when sculpting. You can start by making a stone dog figurine, but I want you to progress and make other things with your imagination."
The stones were more dense than wood, so it would require more effort to sculpt them.
Eden simply nodded. He has grown accustomed to liking this kind of work. He was proud of his ability to produce such a good looking dog figurine. He looked forward to sculpting something of his own now.
Old man Oak took out two books from his spatial ring as well.
"Since you are a unique trait user, it is better for you to learn skills from those branches of the elements instead of focusing on just using regular earth and light magic due to the limitations you may feel using the regular elemental magic. As you grow stronger your body is more accustomed to using plant elements and moonlight elements than the regular earth and sunlight elements. This is why no one ever really trains their regular earth skills. Here is the moonlight diary and a plant elemental spell-card. "
Old man Oak handed these to Eden.
"The plant trait was a unique trait belonging to earth elemental users. The earth element has several different unique traits such as plant, crystal, gold. Most earth elementals have defensive skills and they end up as front liners in the military. From the plant trait I want you to learn the Entangle spell."
The Entangle spell was a powerful level 1 spell that can be easily learned. It would allow the user to conjure vines from the earth to entangle an opponent.
"Focus on your mana heart and draw out those symbols with mana. When you feel the energy gather to the symbol, you can then exert that force out to cast a spell"
Eden looked at a the pile of a thousand stones. Eden read the spellcard for the spell Entangle. He focused on his mana heart and drew the symbol. He felt a pressure on his mana heart. He screamed out "Entangle!"
Vines began to spring out from his hands and engulfed the pile of stones. 'I did it!' Eden was excited. He couldn't wait for the day where he cast more and more spells. He called the vines away and the vines immediately receded into the ground.
"If you are in a place such as a forest Eden, you can focus and aim your mana, having the the vines come out from the earth instead. Environment plays a role in your ability to perform. Also continue practicing your spells until the point where you do not have to scream them upon exertion."
This is why a fire user will always lose in a battle that is located in the ocean against a water user. There are not enough fire elements around and as a result a water elemental user can just draw out the fight until the fire elemental has used all his mana.
Old man Oak left Eden on his own to practice while he went and fished for food at a nearby river.
Eden read through the diary of the intermediate moonlight trait user. The information was rather limited due to the user not living a long life. According to the diary, the moonlight trait is simply much more stronger at night than during the day. It is due to its visibility, the sun and the moon are always orbiting our world, when you cast a moonlight spell during the day, it will be weaker, but it is also less visible. The same could be said for the light. They are the inverse of each other.
The moonlight user only had three spells available within his diary. Moonlight Heal, Moonlight Reflection, and Moonlight Flash. Moonlight Heal was pretty much the basic Light elemental Heal spell. It could heal wounds, but it would be best used when at night. Moonlight reflection was a defensive skill which would blind an opponent by shining a bright ray of moonlight at them. Lastly, Moonlight Aura allowed the user to camouflage into the moonlight and disappear.
Sadly, Eden could not practice these spells yet since it was still during the day. Eden sat down and started his preparations for sculpting.
------
A boy with blue hair could be seen on a practice field outside an academy. A large icicle was sent flying out of the boy's hands and striking the center of a nearby target.
"Hm.. not bad I can cast the Ice Spear spell without screaming its name out any longer." Morgan said proudly. "But still not good enough, I bet Eden has already learned several spells already."
Morgan proceeded to raise his hand and shot out three black orbs from his hand which shattered a three targets from afar.
'I must get to the Elementalist stage as soon as possible'
