章 14: Chapter 14: The Stick-and-Carrot Approach is the Best

The golden-red sun had more than half sunk below the horizon, the afterglow of the sunset scatter across the sea, staining most of the sky red. On the platform of the Crystal Castle, Cloud Giants in splendid armors were still dutifully standing guard.

Suddenly, on one of the platforms, a fifteen-meter-tall Cloud Giant looked up at the sky, a delighted look appearing on his face. In the direction of his gaze, a colossal humanoid creature was slowly descending towards the castle, wings flapping.

Flapping his wings, Muria slowly descended. After a considerable time, he finally landed. After all, he dared not yet attempt the dramatic, torpedo-style dive implemented by the Dragonflight Commander - his life was precious.

"Young Master Muria." The cloud giant leader approached with a joyful expression, "You learned to fly so quickly, it seems that Bart is indeed dutiful."

"Hehe," Muria laughed, his face pale. Although he had learned to fly, he held no gratitude for the Dragonflight Commander - rather, he felt a slight animosity.

The reason was simple - the damned golden-scaled Dragon Beast's teaching method was far too crude. It tossed him from a height of tens of thousands of meters. The first time, Muria failed to utilize his wings properly, resulting in a freefall.

After he had fallen several thousand meters, the golden-scaled flying dragon caught him with its tribe and lifted him back to the sky once again, then dropped him...

Catch, lift, drop. This was the method the Dragonflight Commander used to teach Muria to fly. There was no verbal instruction or discussion of technique - he learned to control his wings and tail to fly through countless free-falls, finding the method that suited him best.

Indeed, this method allowed him to learn to fly in the shortest time. However, it was too blunt. Regardless of his annoyance, Muria could not vent his frustration on the Dragonflight Commander because it was his mother's minion, different from the genuine giants who respected him.

"Ebute, why are you still here?" Muria asked somewhat curiously, looking at the cloud giant leader. There were as many as one thousand eight hundred cloud giants guarding the castle, led by eighteen fifteen-meter-tall Cloud Giants. They took turns guarding the castle.

"Prince Muria, it would be a little longer before it's time to rotate." Ebute laughed in a simple and honest way.

"Really?" Young Master Muria glanced doubtfully at the sun, which was about to completely sink into the sea.

"Ebute, you rascal, delaying the switch just to wait for Prince Muria, huh?" Just then, a loud voice rang out behind Muria.

Muria turned around and saw another fifteen-meter-tall Cloud Giant commander carrying a nail-head hammer, leading a hundred Cloud Giants onto the castle platform.

He was an extraordinarily burly figure even among the giants. The commander currently looking at Ebute with an unhappy face. However, as his gaze shifted to Muria, his demeanor became incredibly respectful.

With fanatical fervor, he and his giants knelt on one knee, "Prince Muria."

Muria's face twitched, he waved his hand, "Stand up, Poton Commander."

The burly Poton Commander stood up huffily, his wide eyes glared at Ebute, who was now looking embarrassed.

"Alright, Commander Ebute, take your men and go rest!" Muria quickly interjected, certainly not wanting the two commanders to fight in front of him.

"Command obeyed, your majesty." Ebute, like receiving amnesty, quickly led his subordinates down the other side of the castle platform. He vacated the place swiftly, for even he thought his actions were insincere.

"Hmph." Watching Ebute hurriedly depart, Poton Commander snorted coldly, then turned to Muria, "Your majesty, Ebute is just too detestable, obstructing me from seeing you. Sooner or later, I will settle this score with him."

"There's no need for that, Poton Commander, if you wish to see me, just tell one of the Castle's maids."

"Hehe!" Upon hearing this, the bearded giant commander immediately beamed, he excitedly took a clump of silvery-blue irregular metal from his chest and handed it to Muria.

Muria's eyebrows raised. He reached out to take the silvery-blue metal, it felt heavy in his hand. He smirked ruefully: "Mithril!"

This was a magical metal known throughout Elasia for its incredibly hard texture and extreme energy conductivity, ranked alongside Mithril and Mountain Bronze as one of the three easiest legendary metals to acquire.

The Dragon Race's inheritance mentioned this. Mithril, Mountain Bronze, and Fine Gold, all three materials could be used to forge legendary weapons. Nevertheless, being suitable for weapon forging was not the reason they were famous. Instead, it was because their production was very high compared to other rare and hard-to-find legendary metals.

In Elasia, these three metals were the only ones that beings below the legendary level had a chance of obtaining. Before reaching the legendary level, one should not even think about acquiring other legendary metals.

"Poton, you're really lucky to have gotten such a large piece of mithril." Muria played with the legendary metal before handing it back to the Giant Leader.

The burly Giant Leader help up his hands quickly: "Prince Muria, this is my gift to you, how can I take it back?"

"Gift to me?" Muria was taken aback. While mithril does have a high production rate compared to other legendary metals, overall, it is still extremely rare, even a legend won't think it's too much, it's something many creatures desire but can't obtain.

"I don't need it now, you should keep it. It would greatly improve the quality of your nail-head hammer." Muria did not hesitate to choose to return the mithril.

"Prince Muria, you can use this kind of metal to forge your exclusive weapon." The Cloud Titan Leader did not leave any more chance for Muria, he quickly ran away, shouting back as he ran: "Only this kind of metal is worthy of you. And the quality of the nail-head hammer is good enough for me to use and does not need to be enhanced anymore."

"Good enough?" Muria laughed, looking at the mithril in his hand, "In this world, I'm afraid nobody would refuse their weapon becoming better quality!"

"What does Titan Bloodline mean?" Holding the mithril, Muria did not chase after the mithril and went downstairs, returning to the castle.

When Muria returned to his room, he caught sight of the Big-headed Nestling chomping on dried meat.

The nestling who Muria had nearly electrocuted to death before he left the room, but now looked full of life like a baby dragon, showing no signs of being on death's doorstep.

Named Auston, the dragonling had many scales turned black due to the thunderstrike, but now, its body was full of dead black scales and skin, and the burn marks were only left in a few places.

When Nestling Auston noticed Muria coming into the room, his body clearly shivered, he pulled back with the block of meat to keep some distance from Muria, but he quickly gave up this weak behaviour, because Muria had already come to his side, staring at him.

Muria satisfied with Nestling Auston's behaviour, nodded. This reminded him of a phrase that had been circulating for thousands of years in his previous life: 'A dutiful son comes from under the rod'. Although rod approach is questionable, but it is more suitable for Muria who is raising a wicked dragon now.

He walked up to Nestling Auston and stared at him, mainly to see the changes in his body. As Austin continued to eat, the changes in his injuries were very obvious. Under Muria's gaze, a piece of dead skin with a dozen burned black dragon scales fell off naturally from the muscles of the dragonling's body.

Then the fibrous crimson muscle was exposed, and then a layer of membrane grew out at a speed observable to the naked eye, covering the muscles exposed to the air, and then hundreds of pale red dragon scales grew out from the skin, and as time changed, their colour deepened until they turned bright red.

"What a terrifying rate of growth." Muria was amazed by the changes that took place in such a short time. However, he then pondered, "Speaking of which, the Golden Dragon lineage in my body is of a higher level compared to this Red Dragon, so I should have a more terrifying growth and recovery speed than Auston."

Muria raised his tender palm and looked at it. He gave up the idea of experimenting on his recovery ability by hurting himself after thinking for a second: "I am not masochistic, let's wait until I get hurt to try this."

"Roar!" Just as Muria was thinking about his recovery ability, a loud dragon roar full of relaxation resonance within the castle, causing Auston to be frightened into dropping the dried meat and trembling on the ground. The other five baby dragons also huddled together, trembling in the corner of the room.

"Is today some special day?" Muria looked up at the ceiling, "Golden Dragon Mother has woken up too."

"Hey, not bad, my son, you've even hatched a Red Dragon Egg." A voice of a young girl praising him came from behind Muria.

Muria immediately turned around when he heard this, seeing a door was opened in the half of his room. A space gate that showed a mountain of gold, and the breathtakingly beautiful Golden-haired young girl figure of Dragon Mother Atreus was stepping through the gate.

"Archmage Atris." "Archmage Atris."

Sophia, who was with a group of Dragonborn Maids taking care of the dragonlings in the room, saluted and greeted the castle's owner as soon as Atreus appeared.

"So it's Sophia." Dragon Mother Atreus nodded, "Thank you for taking care of Muria these years."

"Taking care of Prince Muria is my honour, Archmage Atris." Sophia answered very respectfully.

"Little Muria. You have grown up." The Dragon Mother was taking a look at 8-meter-tall Muria, "But compared to your father, you are still a little bit."

"My father." Muria's expression was subtle. He had only seen that dignified and majestic black-haired, golden-pupiled 'man' once at birth, and he has not seen him again since then.

"Cough." The Dragon Mother also remembered that Muria had only seen Ansol once, and coughed: "Your father is very busy at the moment, so he doesn't have much time to see you."
