章 5: Au Naturel

I followed Vinci, walked out of the bedroom, and watched him leave the suite.
After baring my true feelings for him, he just left without a word.
If I just don't have feelings for him, I would think he's a total jerk. 'But he is!' I thought as I sobbed. Suddenly my mobile phone rang. I had to return to the bedroom... the bedroom where I unconsciously spent the night with the man of my dreams!
"Fudging stupid!" I felt so frustrated, as I frantically searched for my mobile phone until I stopped to intently listen to where the ring was coming from. I sensed that it was under the bed and knelt down to look for it. I saw the light of my phone blinking, and I also noticed that there was something sparkling under the bed. I reached out for my phone first, then the sparkling object. It was a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch. I immediately knew it was Vinci's because his die-hard Chinese fans gifted him with that timepiece, which is unmatched by his other fans across the world.
I sighed as I looked at his watch. It also smelled like his preferred Paco Rabanne Invictus perfume. I held it close to my heart as I sobbed again like the crazy fan that I was.
My phone kept ringing, so I decided to answer it without looking at the screen to know who was calling me.
'But how I wished it was Vinci calling me and telling me he changed his mind and will return. Come to think of it, though, he never even bothered to know my number. Huhu! He really detests me! And yet... I still like him! Lord, why can't you just take away this feeling I have for him? On second thought, not yet, Lord! Don't remove my feelings for him yet. I haven't super tried my best.'
"I know, I know, I'm being crazy and obsessive about him! I should stop this. I should deal with things one step at a time..." I sighed and finally answered my phone."H-hello?" I heard my own voice croak.
"Sweetheart," my mother said almost in a whisper. "I did the best that I could to make your father leave. I hope you and Vinci... OH MY GOSH! Vinci of Infin8!" My mother couldn't keep her excitement because she was also an Ininf8 fan, but she had no bias like me. She just said she likes them as a group.
"Why didn't you tell me that you two - but anyway, I feel all giggly here for you, darling! Oh, my stars! I hope you and Vinci will work it out! Imagine! He'll be my son-in-law!"
I gulped at hearing my mother, and my lips went dry. I could not think of anything to say. I felt so guilty for lying to my parents, especially her! Aside from my best friend Kitkat, who is now with my cousin GP of Infin8, my mother Rori is my best friend!
My heart hurts so much at the thought that I couldn't tell my own best friend about the truth.
"So what do you and Vinci plan?" She asked.
"Mom..." I couldn't hide my sobs. "Can we not talk about it yet? I'm not feeling well." I just made an excuse.
"Oh, my veggies! Have you had yourself checked if you're pregnant?" I sensed her worry.
"No, Mom! I'm not... sure yet..." I felt so embarrassed. "I'm not sure yet that I am."
I felt frustrated because I'm not used to lying to her. It breaks my heart, but it's nothing compared to the hurt I feel now because of Vinci." I need to hang up, Mom. The door is ringing." I lied. "Bye," I said before I hurriedly ended the call.
The truth is the door wasn't ringing, and I just made up an excuse to end the conversation. I burst into tears and held on to the handkerchief that Vinci gave me.
"Relax, Dominique. You have a plan." I said to myself. "You just need to decide and stick by it. No one said that if you want to have something, you could easily have it or achieve it-- including getting married and settling down. It's like a plant... He's like a plant. You need to nurture him and your relationship. Likewise, he has to work it out with you, too..."
I think I felt sadder at the latter part, realizing that it may be one party who is willing to make it work.
I'm the only one who wants to make it work. Not Vinci.

As I was packing my things to prepare to leave the hotel, I heard the doorbell ring so I opened it. I was surprised that I received three breakfast sets for the suite attendant.
"Good morning, Miss Ponce. The two breakfasts are included in the suite package, whilst the full breakfast with complete drinks... I was told to inform you that it is compliments from Mr. Gab Ponce..." he said with a weird smile on his face.
I wasn't sure why he was all giggly, but I tried to ignore it.
"Thanks, but is it okay if I have the two breakfasts included in the suite package to-go?" I shyly inquired. I wouldn't be able to eat three breakfasts and just thought of giving the two breakfasts to the driver who would pick me up later. "I'll just have the breakfast ordered by Mr. Gab Ponce for me," I explained.
"Certainly," the room attendant said as he pulled the serving trolley inside the suite.
"It's courtesy to say thank you even if you're my cousin, and we don't bother about manners," I said as I typed on my phone my message to my cousin Gab.
'Thank you for the breakfast, Gab! I know you're busy. I hope you and Kitkat are okay.' I typed in my message and sent him. After a minute or two, he replied to me.
'I didn't order breakfast for you, cuz. Sorry! :D ' I read in his reply.
I wondered who sent it and remembered what the room attendant said. He said someone told him to tell me it was from Gab Ponce.
"Excuse me, Sir," I said as the room attendant was about to leave the suite. "May I know who said this breakfast was from Gab Ponce?" I hurriedly asked.
"It was Sir Vinci of Infin8, Ma'am. He paid for the breakfast and instructed me to inform you that the complimentary breakfast was from Mr. Gab Ponce." He explained.
It sunk in me that Vinci may not be that mean after all.
"Is there anything else you need, Ms. Ponce?" The room attendant asked.
"All good. Thank you so much!" I responded while I tried to hold my bursting excitement.
As soon as the suite attendant closed the door, I went to the bedroom and closed it. I jumped in the bed with so much joy. I danced to the tune of Night Dancer by Imase in my head! Then, I ran out of the bedroom and started having my breakfast with gusto.
