章 26: Chapter 26: Inquiry

Just after I made the blinding vow with Sukuna, the door to my room burst open, startling me. In walked Gojo Satoru, his trademark smile lighting up the room. Behind him strode Principal Yaga, his expression grave and determined.

Take a note, they came just after I made my deal with sukuna, coincidence? I think not.

"Gojo-sensei, Principal Yaga," I greeted them.

"Hey there, troublemakers," Gojo greeted us with his trademark grin, as if he was about to announce the start of a school festival instead of engaging in a serious discussion.

"How are you? Does your injury healed?" Gojo asked, his tone light and casual, like he was checking in on an old friend rather than a student who had just been through a life-threatening ordeal.

I couldn't help but chuckle at his nonchalant demeanor, despite the gravity of the situation. "Yeah, I'm doing fine now, thanks to some much-needed bed rest," I replied, trying to match his easygoing vibe.

Principal Yaga cleared his throat, a hint of impatience in his voice. "As much as we appreciate the concern for Yuji's well-being, Gojo, we're here for a more pressing matter," he interjected, his tone a stark contrast to Gojo's laid-back attitude.

Gojo flashed a sheepish grin, acknowledging the shift in tone. "Right, right, my bad," he said, scratching the back of his head in a gesture of apology. "Let's get down to business then."

"Alright, Yuji, spill the beans," Gojo chimed in with his usual playful tone, leaning against the doorframe. "We've got snacks and a comfy chair ready for this story time."

Principal Yaga shot Gojo a stern look before turning to me. "Yuji, I am here to ask you about the Soul Eater. It's not like anything I've ever encountered. Even after it's been killed, its body remains without any sign of vanishing. And it's the first time any Jujutsu sorcerer has seen something like that. Megumi said you instructed him to remove the curtain, and you also know about this curse. So I want to ask you, how do you know about it?"

As Principal Yaga finished his question, a low chuckle echoed within the confines of my room. As a small separate mouth formed on my face.

"Well, well, well," Sukuna's voice reverberated in through the room, dripping with amusement. "Seems like we're in a bit of a pickle, aren't we?"

"He's the one who told me its name," I addressed Principal Yaga. Time start my acting.

Principal Yaga's brow furrowed in concern as he observed the peculiar occurrence. "Yuji, are you alright?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.

I nodded quickly, "I'm fine," I reassured him. "Just a... temporary inconvenience."

But Sukuna wasn't about to let the opportunity pass without adding his own commentary. "Oh, come on, Yuji," he interjected, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "We both know I'm more than just an inconvenience."

"So tell me Sukuna, Why do you help, Yuji? And what is this soul eater." Principal Yaga asked.

Sukuna's laughter echoed in response to Principal Yaga's question.

"Why do I help him, you ask?" Sukuna's voice dripped with malice as he spoke. "Well, let's just say I have my reasons, ones that even you don't understand."

"And what of the Soul Eater?" Principal Yaga pressed, steering the conversation back towards the matter at hand.

"Have you heard of the term Undead." Sukuna asked.

"Yes, the undead are beings in mythology, legend, that are deceased but behave as if alive." Yaga said. " But what that have to do with soul eater."

Sukuna chuckled darkly, his amusement evident in his tone. "Ah, Principal Yaga, you're halfway there," he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "The Soul Eater isn't just your run-of-the-mill undead. It's more like a cursed undead, with a craving for cursed energy that makes a vampire's thirst for blood seem like child's play."

Principal Yaga raised an eyebrow, his skepticism evident. "Cursed undead, you say?" he echoed, his expression a mix of intrigue and disbelief. "And how exactly does one deal with such a creature?"

Sukuna's grin widened, his eyes glinting with malicious intent. "That's for you to find out, isn't it?" he replied, his tone dripping with mockery. "After all, I wouldn't want to spoil all the fun for you Jujutsu Sorcerers. It's not every day you get to tangle with a creature as... *unique* as the Soul Eater."

Principal Yaga narrowed his eyes, sensing the underlying menace in Sukuna's words. "And what do you mean by that?" he demanded, his voice firm.

Sukuna leaned back, his expression morphing into one of sinister amusement. "Oh, nothing much," he said, his tone deceptively casual. "Just that the Soul Eater isn't your average cursed spirit."

Gojo interjected, his tone laced with skepticism. "So you're saying that this Soul Eater is some sort of adviced version of curse?"

Sukuna shrugged nonchalantly, though the glint in his eyes belied his indifferent facade. "Call it what you will," he replied cryptically. "But one thing's for sure: if it's out there, it won't rest until it's wreaked havoc on everything in its path. But the good thing you guys is, I killed the one."

Principal Yaga exchanged a wary glance with Gojo, silently acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

"And what about you, Sukuna?" Principal Yaga asked, his voice tinged with suspicion. "Do you have any involvement in the appearance of this Soul Eater?"

Sukuna's grin widened, his amusement evident in the gleam of his eyes. "Me? Oh, I'm just a observer," he replied, his tone dripping with insincerity. "But who knows? Maybe I'll decide to lend a helping hand if the mood strikes me."

Principal Yaga bristled at Sukuna's flippant response, his distrust of the cursed spirit growing with each passing moment. "Well, we'll be sure to keep an eye on you," he said sternly, his voice leaving no room for argument.

Sukuna merely chuckled in response, his laughter echoing ominously in the confines of the room. As the conversation came to a close.

Hearing how Sukuna handled the situation, I came to realise than he is not King of Curses, in fact he is King of Fraud.
