Squirtle withdrew into its shell, strengthening its defenses against Starmie's attacks. It braced itself, determined to withstand the incoming assaults.

Starmie's Psychic-type move exerted a telekinetic force on Squirtle, causing it to wince in pain. The attack exploited Squirtle's vulnerability, dealing significant damage despite its defensive stance.
Josh knew he needed to act quickly. "Squirtle, counter with a powerful Skull Bash!"
Squirtle charged towards Starmie, its head protected within its hardened shell. The force of the impact sent Starmie skidding backward, leaving it momentarily stunned.
Seizing the opportunity, Josh instructed Squirtle to follow up with a rapid Water Gun attack. Squirtle unleashed a relentless stream of water, striking Starmie with renewed determination.

Starmie regained its composure, retaliating with a devastating blast of water. Squirtle was caught off guard, the force of the Hydro Pump pushing it back. Squirtle struggled to recover, visibly worn out from the intense battle.
With a heavy heart, Josh called Squirtle back, acknowledging its valiant effort. He turned to Pikachu, ready to step up and face Misty's relentless onslaught.
Pikachu leaped into action, its determination mirrored in its fierce expression. The Electric-type Pokémon darted around the battlefield, using its speed and Thunderbolt attacks to gain an advantage against Misty's remaining Pokémon.
The battle raged on, with Pikachu showcasing its agility and determination. Together, Josh and Pikachu devised clever strategies and executed powerful attacks, whittling down Misty's team one by one.
In the end, Pikachu's relentless assault proved successful. Misty acknowledged Josh's skills and awarded him the Cascade Badge, symbolizing his victory over the Cerulean Gym.
Though Squirtle had struggled in this particular battle, Josh admired its resilience and knew that this defeat would only make them stronger. With newfound determination, they left the Cerulean Gym, ready to continue their journey and train harder than ever before.
